O2 Warranty Scam. Samsung Z Flip 3 Screen Splitting.

O2 did not even bother to reply to my letter regarding court action and the preaction protocol.
I will starting a County Court claim in the next few days...
So, as expected, O2 have refused to repair my Z Flip 3 phone with the classic screen splitting issue that thousands are suffering from.
The reason? Because there is a mark on the screen!
They have also told me that not only are they refusing to repair the phone under warranty but my entire warranty for the phone has been voided.
This has to be one of the biggest scams I have ever heard of and O2 and Samsung should be ashamed of themselves.
O2 give a two year warranty. It appears that this is worthless as a scratch on the phone or a mark on the screen will be used as an excuse to void your warranty.
Just to clarify, the phone works perfectly, the screen works perfectly. But I don't want the splits in the screen to suddenly cause the phone to fail or the screen to fail.
I will continue with this through the Count Court and will update you when there is any news.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone with similar issues.

Probably best to take them through small claims, which they likely will have somebody local, or not attend.

Please give an update to this when you can I'm interested as I have the same phone with a dead pixel that appeared one day not sure how and I'd imagine they would say it's my fault

Hi I have been so busy with work that I decided to sell the phone and not waste my valuable time on persuing this throught the courts. I would have got the costs to have it repaired around £300 in court but my time is more valuable currently.

Device has to be fully assessed to be repaired in warranty, any one who isn't the manufacturer follow manufacturer regulations with no flexibility, to use a car as an example as a car is not a folding gimmick device you put in a pocket, take your legal proceedings to the manufacturer not a reseller who has to stick to a manufacturer rule, if you complain that they sold this to you well that's just business and frankly you are still contributing to the success of these poorly made device, if you spent half as much effort with legal action when thinking about buying a new type of device on the market you wouldn't have bought it😂

How did you get on with issue? Last week l had exactly the same story causing me some anxiety. I'd only had the phone 13 months but being unable to make any contact the phone was returned with £275 estimate. Finally l contacted Samsung and they accepted it is fixable under warranty and offered to fix phone explaining certain repairers are not aware of the manufacturers screen protector. Finally l re approached 02 and now they have agreed to replace the phone!

How did you pay for it? If via a credit card issue a chargeback on the card.

All the phones are pay monthly direct debits so I can't go in that direction but it is a very good point and a good reason to always pay using a credit card.
