I was born and raised on Kauai and moved to Oahu during the winter of 1991 then I left Oahu for Washington state July 2000, I went back to Kauai to visit my parents who still lives up in the Wailua Homesteads in 2017 & 18 and Kauai has changed so much that most of the businesses and restaurants I knew and went to during the 70’s and 80’s no longer exists, I also went to visit family and relatives In Ewa Beach and Waialua in 2017 and the biggest change was how much Kapolei has grown compared to what it was before I left in 2000.

Hi Jason, yep so much has changed in Hawaii in the last decade or so. Kapolei is totally different now too!

LOL, from the name, I actually thought it had opihi inside. Thank you for the video, I may need to go to Kauai to try some of those things out. Everything looked so ono!

Haha! Reid also thought that the opihi's were supposed to have real opihi's inside! But those chocolates are a MUST try when going to Kauai! So good!

What a great weekend! We’ve been to the sights and to some of the eateries - but there are always more eateries to explore so I’m excited to revisit Kauai. The Opihi chocolates looked absolutely to die for, and although we have great Hawaiian food on Oahu, I must say your plate looked so yummy and fresh poi? Yes! Glad the weather was beautiful and that you enjoyed the hotel, it is a lovely property and so central. 👍❣️

So Cari, please tells us more about the Opihi chocolate. Does it really have opihi(the ones from the sea) in it?
@Caritaira Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't actually have a real opihi. It's a chocolate covered macadamia nut with a cookie and some caramel. It is soooo delicious!

Aloha Cari & Reid. I love Kauai, haven't been there in years (I used to go there with my ex). Kauai chocolate, those Opihi are delicious, did they still sell the bars which had a layer of caramel, a layer of dried mango and then chocolate? I used to love getting those. Kauai is so different from the other islands, it's definitely a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Oahu. Mahalo for showing your travels, I absolutely love these videos!
