Oak Hollow is an interesting case as it didn't open very long ago, but now sits abandoned. This video was inspired by Bright Sun Films and Dan Bell, and took a lot of time to make, so it would help me out a lot if you subscribed. More info + credits in description. Enjoy the video!

I remembered this mall. During my childhood in the 2000s, I enjoyed shopping there with my parents. It’s a little bit sad to see it abandoned.

I was there on opening weekend. I think you nailed it...too close to Four Seasons in Greensboro...

I miss this place greatly, so many memories here. I was there the first day it opened and the last week it closed. I also worked in the Sears operations center for over a year. Thanks for the shout-out 👍

I grew up in the High Point area & I shopped at that mall a lot & I even worked there. I helped set up the Radio Shack, Waldenbooks, & I also worked at the KayBee toy store for 4 Christmas seasons. In my opinion the mall failed because of online shopping. Many people would rather shop online than to go somewhere in public to buy. The same goes for the movie theater. There were & are bigger movie theaters people could go to in the area, plus many people would rather buy dvds or bluerays. I do know that High Point University owns the mall & they use it for storage for their stuff & I know they have some classes there as well. Oak Hollow Mall was GREAT while it lasted but that was in pre-internet shopping days. The last time I was in that area back in 2022 or so I think the Target was still open, I don't know about the Barnes & Noble though.

This mall raised me half of my life. My first retail job was things remembered on the top level. You had a cookie place. Italian place. Chick fill a. Chinese and Jappense. A movie theater. Hair place. Where I got my hair done. I lived in high point for 6 years and I went to this mall almost every day. And it resided me. Into my retail career today. In 2003 it started out in this place. I miss this mall. And when high point university bought it. They need to make it more convenient for us citizens Apartments. Or class rooms. Academics. Or something Sad to drive by when I go to target across the street and see it rot. They need to do something.

I always went there as a kid with my grandma and siblings when my mom was at work. We would go to the golden corral a lot too. And whenever we were hungry at the mall we would go to the panda express and play at the playground thing in the food court. really sad to see a place you basically grew up in close.

I went here all the time in the 90s and early 2000s! I spent a lot of time in KB Toys, Spencer’s and the Disney Store before the stores started leaving. I remember when Chick fi la left and my mom saying that’s a sign the mall was done for.

I grew up there too! I was born in the 2000's so i missed the mall thrive. I was in Sears once, always in the food court at the panda express, always went to the golden corral that was in a seperate building, always go to the target, and was in the circuit city parking lot once watching fireworks with my family before hpu changed it into whatever it is now.

I'm sure I saw you if you used to hang out in KB Toys. I worked for that store during 4 Christmas seasons during the mid to late 90's.

I went to the mall about a year ago and some security guard said that you can’t enter because classes were still going

It’s not abandoned it is owned by HPU. Also it failed due to HPU buying everything around high point causing no jobs and nothing left around so everyone turned to heroine, so therefore nobody had money to shop and the stores all left

its quite saddening to see our mall die. and the one commenter saying its location was bad.... it tragically was, i forgot it even existed even when it was operating! i still remember a lot of the store fronts you shown; especially at 9:09 where that used to be a great bakery and right around the corner from it used to be EB Games, then turned Gamestop. the cinema was awesome during its runtime with it being right outside the food court; and finally in one wing of the mall used to be an awesome arcade of to the right of the main entrance. i remember my childhood there, then all the cabinets being put for sale. i think it was around 2003 or 2004 when the arcade shut down.
