I’m down here a lot. And I just learned about Long Beach! I saw a sign somewhere around Lowe’s Food grocery store a billboard that read “I ❤ Long Beach “ and then by the oak island pier there’s a volleyball net area that also reads “I ❤Long Beach “ now that makes sense! Thanks for the history! ❤😊

I seen that on our way to the beach. Words can't explain how amazing NC, Oak Island is. We'll be coming down there sometime in June! We also took pictures infront of that light house. Love this place. Can't Wait 🙂

Great tour of Oak Island. We have never been there but have friends and family that have. The beaches looked beautiful. Poor lady is headless! Thanks for taking us along with you for the tour of Oak Island.

Oak Island is a nice little town. I like it because they don't have a lot of commercialized hotels and stores there. Also it is a great place to go fishing in the spring and fall. Thanks for watching friends.

It was so much better in the 80’s and 90’s. I loved the tall water slides they use to have near the arcade. I always wondered what kind of person lived in the house covered up….smart though when storms come through. It seemed so peaceful and now it totally different. Did you have to get a parking pass? I am headed there tomorrow.

Yes. They have paid parking at Oak Island now. I filmed a video about it last year. Here is a link if you would like to watch-->kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3WWgXZ4qaeKe9Esi=dP9aRgS6JR1Q8-JA

Great video tour of Oak Island, and the fishing piers, That's some good looking BBQ, will have to try it when we get back down there. Thanks for sharing.

I am glad you enjoyed it. The BBQ House is always good. If you like a good burger try Little Bits. I hate she was not open when I was there. And Bob's Dogs has the best hotdogs on the island in my opinion. Thank you for watching. Have a blessed day! 😀

That’s a really nice light house. Would love to photograph it. That beach is really nice. I appreciate the beach lifestyle. The seas are in our blood! That salty air and wind in your hair. Love me some Brunswick stew at a bbq place! Food looked pretty tasty. That looks a lot like folly beach.

I have always had a love for lighthouses at the coast. We are planning on going over to a neighboring island later this summer to film the oldest standing lighthouse in North Carolina. It will be the first time we get to try out our new Hiboy electric stand up scooters. It should make travel on the island easier. It is one of those no cars allowed islands.😁 Thank you for watching my friend.

I love Oak Island! Visited for the first time in April, stayed for 5 wonderful days. My heart broke when I saw what Ian did. But my family and I will be back.

Hey Christa! I hate it for the town of Oak Island. It looks like they sustained a lot of beach erosion. That has to be heart breaking to the community. They spent 29 million dollars two years ago on a beach renourishment project. Now most of that sand is gone.

@@HitchHikingYeti my hopes and prayers are they can bounce back. I'm also sad for the sea turtles and wildlife too. It's such an amazing place.

Yes it was - We went their every year from age 4 till I was - well still go - It was called Long Beach on Oak Island - I still call it that - but it has grown up the area way to much - I remember when only houses were beach front and a few across the street - and we would go across on the old bridge and go to the Red and White grocery store and visit the bakery - just a very small little shopping center they also had a laundry mat -

Is there any sort of walkable village or downtown area? We usually go to Pine Knoll Shores, Beaufort or Emerald Isle, but would love to see more of Oak Island before deciding to vacation there. Very cool beach area and your video of it.
@HitchHikingYeti Жыл бұрын
Oak Island does not have a village area. The small beach community has some beach wear shops and nicely themed putt putt coarse within a few blocks of each other. The town of Southport is a short 10-15 minute drive away depending on traffic. They have a village area there to shop and eat. Here is my video about Southport. kzbin.info/www/bejne/epSon3R4aJJssNE
