Oak Mountain Band Plays First Notes in New Jim Duren Band Room - 10-26-2023 - "Salvation is Created"

The new Oak Mountain High School Performing Arts Center officially opens on November 2, 2023 but the Oak Mountain Band had a soft opening on 10-26-2023 and to honor Founding Band Director Jim Duren the first notes played in the new space was "Salvation is Created" which Mr. Duren ended all his wind warmups with EVERY TIME. This music has defined the Oak Mountain Band for 25 Years and you never forget it once you hear it and it brings chills and emotion each time it is heard.
We captured that moment when the band assembled for the first time as an ensemble to play those notes.
