Now it’s viola, bass, and piano, and I’m about to do Beethoven 9 on viola next month. Though my heart is always orchestra, I sure miss playing trombone and doing marching band. I love the sound of full brass. Great times. To any band or orchestra students out there, keep playing. I love teaching you all and it’s the greatest joy I get everyday. As a clarinet, I feel insulted XD Also a few things I want to mention: 1:40 c'mon, violas are actually pretty cool instruments. Give em some justice. 1:53 I... uh... *cries in marching band breaks a lot of reeds* (fr tho, there are plastic reeds which do help, but they generally are a bit squakier). 2:01 wind instruments technically have an infinite range, as if you can put enough air through the instrument in the right way, the note gets higher. The clarinet player in the video only gets up to about altissimo D (which, to be fair, isn't easy, especially at first), but there are many notes that go higher, and getting up past that point is very doable. (Tldr; not bad, but skill issue). 2:39 debatable; The technical skill of string instruments make them a little harder to start and get good at, but very advanced techniques such as circular breathing (which isn't necessary, but is very helpful), strong breath support, and breath/volume control can be more difficult. 2:42 bet 2:59 no lol (laughs in key oil, bore oil, and all of the other oils used for instruments that didn't get mentioned). 3:29 circular breathing be like (I want to learn how to do it so bad XD) 3:40 *ignores the existance of flutes, piccolos, clarinets, piccolo clarinets, oboes, etc.* (not all of these are lighter, but they are at least similar in weight). 3:46 as an owner of a wooden clarinet that cost way too much, this pains me 3:51 bet 4:15 can confirm, I have never seen a wind player clean spit up after playing (tbf, its gone by the next day) 4:21 *cries in 5 different pieces, + reed, + lyre, + optional attatchments* 4:48 it be like that when intonation is changed by literally the temperature of the air around (I wish this were a joke, or that the effect was little) 5:08 BET *proceedes to play 32nd note rhythms at 100 bpm while marching* 6:01 never get a nice instrument and do this 6:04 me when my reed needs more spit (also there is a picture of my friend licking his reed mid competition)

Band usually has more people in it. In my school the orchestra only has like 15 people in it in my grade. The band has like 70. It used to have over 100 in my grade. I honestly feel bad for anyone who chose orchestra over band. (at least at my school)

@DirtyLaundry-wl1hq28 күн бұрын
I am in both so I can't decide which is better, but in my opinion, the best instrument is piano. There are only a few things a piano can't do that other instruments can, but it can do a lot of things that other instruments can't, and it's easier to learn as a starting instrument because it's easier to understand the notes when they are laid out right in front of you and the piano has a larger range then most instruments

Nice! Some of these players create the Sonic Lost World Session Orchestra. All you need is a harp player, two bassoons, a piccolo, two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, four French horns, three trumpets, two tenor trombones, a bass trombone, a tuba, two percussionists (sometimes we add two more for steel drums and drum sets), 14 violins (8 of the 1st, 6 of the 2nd), 4 violas, 5 cellos, and 2 double basses.
