Oak Mountain High School Band - The 2021 Halftime Show

Howdy Pardner! For their 2021 Halftime Show the Oak Mountain High School "Spirit of Cahaba" Marching Band performed "The Wild Wild West". The show featured music from "The Magnificent Seven", "William Tell Overture", "Shenandoah", and "Silverado". This performance was the third and final competition run of the show for the 2021 Marching Season.
The band competed in the Lake Martin Invitational (October 2, 2021), the Pell City Marching Festival (October 16, 2021), and as shown here the Hoover Invitational Marching Festival (October 23, 2021). The 2021 Band was the largest in school history with 254 on the field and for the first time in school history the band competed in three competitions and won all three. The 2021 Oak Mountain Band earned the highest scores over all 77 other bands at these three competitions.
Congratulations to the 254 Outstanding Men and Women of the Oak Mountain High School Spirit of Cahaba Marching Band, Directors and Staff, all the parents and volunteers who contribute their time and talents to making a great band program! This was a special season and we are all so proud of these students for their accomplishments.

Love each and every one those guys. So proud I get to say I played with them when I was in high school. They put in a tremendous amount of hard work and it showed all throughout this year. This is the best one I have ever seen in the school’s history. Oak Mountain is one amazing place with one amazing band. The legacy of this show will be known.

I go to Helena and was blown away when we got to watch this show from the right endzone. It was incredible. Also, both times I heard this show live (Pell City and Shelby County Showcase) the cannon scared the crap out of me

definetly hebron when it comes to drill cleanliness and intonation, but oak mountain is phenomenal especially for highschool. Can't wait to compete with them at BOA Murfreesboro this year!

The band put themselves in a position to be competitive by working hard and trying to improve with every rep. I remember those hot July and August days that were really no fun but were necessary to have the chance to compete. The Spirit of Cahaba exemplifies the pursuit of excellence with a humble, gracious, and determined mindset. Congratulations on a successful season and as you progress towards your senior year I hope that you remember what it takes to get to this point. Every other band works hard too....you just have to work harder.... I have seen 15 seasons of this band and this one will be a legacy for sure. Thanks for watching!

As a Pinson band parent that has seen many many excellent bands through the years, I can say this year’s Oak Mountain band has no rival in the 35 years I’ve been watching high school marching bands in Alabama. Band band I’ve ever seen.

Closest I’ve seen to you guys was a show Pinson did in 1983 that placed third nationally at the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, but of course back then they didn’t have the props and such to take a show to the next level.

@@BoRoperFamilyVideos For such a young band program (only since 1999) the foundation of excellence that was set by Founding Director Mr. Jim Duren (sadly he passed away last year) continues on. In fact the end of Seg 2 is a tribute to him. All credit to the outstanding Directors, Staff, Parents and Boosters, Volunteers and of course the awesome students. They have to own it and make it happen. Your kind words mean a lot to so many.
