Thanks so much for making these videos of the Triple Cities area. I grew up on the South Side of Binghamton, moving to VA in 1980. it is a nice way to keep in touch with the area from afar.

Thanks for the walk through. Back at the beginning of the millennia I was an Asst Manager at EMS there. I grew up seeing movies and roaming this mall quite a bit. I remember Bradlees, My aunt worked at Bon Ton too. This was a big part of my life.

Oh my goodness, how depressing. I'm originally from Binghamton, now living in the San Francisco Bay area. I can remember walking my daughter in her stroller in the Oakdale Mall during Christmas when she was about 2 yrs. old. We were waiting in line so my daughter could have her photo taken with Santa, that was back in 1976, that Mall was packed. Was packed right up until I left Binghamton and that was 1996. How sad and deserted it is now. My grandparents lived over on Victory St. off of Oakdale Rd, before the Mall was built on Harry L and Reynolds that use to be an old gravel pit. and a couple houses were on the corner of Harry L and Reynolds Rd, and a few on Reynolds Rd that they had to move to make way for the Mall to be built. I remember across the street on Harry L where the Mall is use to be an old service station and the old Oakdale School by the Finch Hollow Creek, my grandmother's sister lived on Marie St off of Harry L, many years ago. How its changed since I was a little girl and my daughter was little too. Sad to see the Mall so barren when back in the late 70's thru the 90's the Mall was the rage. Oh btw, the first store to open in the Mall was Montgomery Wards, 1:06, where the fan in the door was.

I grew up in the area and remember all the anchor stores from the 80's and 90s...Bradlees, Bon Ton, Sears, JCP, Montgomery Ward. Sad what the mall has become, but not surprising given the state of the Triple Cities area as well as indoor malls falling out of favor (which I still don't understand.) The mall becoming Oakdale Commons is probably the only way the building doesn't become an abandoned mall and completely closed up. I wish something like Bass Pro Shop would occupy the old Macy's location, at least it would make more sense than having a food court, or even a few individual chain restaurants.

Yup, I remember when Bradlees was at the Mall. It was a really nice store.

I don't understand why people are so sad about the mall and acting like it's dead? there's actually quite a bit in there and still coming and I see these changes almost every day. The Macy's Lot is now leveled out for the changes coming, we are always busy where I am and so much more since Covid. The whole parking lot is going to be done. Lots of things coming. Let's be happy about that and welcome the new things coming the best we can.

Thanks for mall and Lourdes updates. It would be nice if you could do more on the Lourdes center, what do there, contact information etc. great coverage on mall in general, sorry to see Burlington leaving.

Frank , try and get more info from the village or new owners on the future plans of the mall. Ask the workers!

Anyone who has gone to Lourdes Hospital knows how understaffed it is and, as a result, how much it sucks. Yet Lourdes will spend the money to open a fitness center at the mall, rather than use it to run their hospital effectively. Shows you where their priorities are. 💵💵💵💰

I've heard that rumor about Dick's a few times but with them expanding in Vestal it seems highly unlikely that they are building at the mall.
