In that play the safety had to remain with middle field leverage and was exposed outside and over the top I believe when this clinic is shown QB’s can’t make that throw 😂 in this day and age 2024 a lot of QB’s can make that throw
@rashaadborn16006 жыл бұрын
Leverage is everything. Especially in man. It was the sole reason Georgia was out of position in Cover 2. Bad leverage. Bad positioning by the safety. Great look by Tua to look him off and come back to the backside 9 route.

Rashaad BORN! saftey did his job it was the corner who let him get a free release n didnt push him inside to disrupt his route

You’re both right. It was on both. The corner didn’t get a jam and allowed a free release and the safety got looked off and sat on the hash.

on the last slide Saban has the mike running half way across the field to cover the 1 receiver on a double hook and rb flat concept. That really doesn't make much sense. I know it's 20 years later, but defending snag concepts I was taught the Nickel or Spur covers the flat while inside slant/whip is covered by both the Mike and Corner. tldr; Mike linebacker has to run halfway across the field to cover the 1 receiver on the double hook concept from a 2x2 set when in Cover 2.

Nick Saban is great at doing things that…. Make sense and playing coverages Thst.. make sense. He’s a genius because he takes the fundamentals and sticks with them, never teaches drills that do not pertain directly to the leverage or coverage for the day, or the week of a game. He just never lets little shit slide no matter what day, or what player. The problem is most human beings don’t have the drive to pay attention to details all practice every practice. False steps are never ok, wrong leverage never ok, wrong hand on press never ok. Just died things the correct way every minute of everyday. I’ll admit, coaching highschool for 10 years can be a little more tedious than Thst level if you do it correct bc you are coaching what u have, and 13-18 year olds don’t know stance and start, or stemming, or what a divider rule is. He’s great bc he does what he is suppose to do, always
