Can I ask you a quick question Kevin please i just wondered if you used clay at all in your pond and are you still using it now you have your heater on the pond i have got the same heater as you and i was a bit concerned it might effect the heating element if i carry on using clay !!! And also i am not that impressed with the amount of sway there is on the temperature l am getting a 3 degree sway overnight which to me is far too much for the fish and when i was reading up in the heater it said a 0.2 - 0.3 i don't know if i read it wrong and i wondered if you found the same thing was happening with yours ? Many thanks and stay safe

@@ianevans3898 Cheers for watching Ian. I do use clay but have not used any whilst the covers are on. I will be giving it a dose over the next couple of weeks once the new water has settled. I am not sure about your question but I will E Mail Simon at AES. I would imagine if the internals are suitable for Swimming pools etc then they should be fine in a Pond especially if they are Stainless Steel. Regarding the Temperature swing I had a similar issue but spoke with Simon and he helped me check what the factory settings were as sometimes they can be set with a 2 Degree difference. Mine is set with 1 Degree difference which obviously means if it is set at 17, the Heater will kick in at 16 degrees and stop at 17 Degrees, but having said that if it is on the Smart Mode it will only apply the heat slowly to preserve energy and depending on the outside temperature it may even appear the temperature has dropped below 16 Degrees. It is a tough one as if the differential is too close the heater will be on and off none stop. If you set it to Powerful Mode it might appear to be more stable as in + or - 0.5 Degrees of what you want.

@@AKoiEnthusiast thanks for getting back to me Kevin ...i have spoken to Simon and he said he would get back to me over the clay but he hasn't (yet) but that was over a week ago and regarding the heater he sent me a temperature prob which he said would cure my problem but unfortunately you need a electrician to understand the wiring diagram and you need to cut a hole in the casing to fit the controls which i am not happy about in case it gets damaged and it took me a long long time to save up for the heater and as i am now unable to work through having stage 4 cancer money is very tight and i can't afford to get someone in to fit it for me ....... but thinking outside the box regarding the clay ...you have to put chloride in a swimming pool so ????? Is it the same thing ??? Thanks for getting back to me and keep the video's coming they are very helpful and interesting and while I'm on how is the new pre wired electric box you got sent ,? What a great idea that is as anyone could wire them (even me ) instead of some of the fiddly things that are on the market Stay safe 🌈🌈🌈 and thanks again

@@ianevans3898 I have a volt free Temperature gauge too as I was going to fit it but I was happy with the 1 Degree differential. It is very simple to wire in and I think there is a space for fitting a weatherproof gland. But then again I am comfortable with things like that. A may be scary for a novice. The Matsuko Switch box is ideal and stay tuned as I may be giving not one but two of the new ones away soon.

Cheers for watching and the kind words. On my set up I wanted something easy to use that was very efficient (Cheap to run) had Wifi Control and was small in size. I wanted something simple that had everything included all at the same time and didn't want to add feet, pipes, cable, plugs. The Duratec or Thermotec did not look as good or fit the bill but the Remora fitted my set up perfectly. I spoke with Simon at AES, who I believe designed or developed the Remora range and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Other people recommended a smaller size unit but he recommended the i9 because of my volume and set up. I would have bought the i9 if they had got one in stock but they only had the i12 left. He agreed it was possibly a little overkill but it would run even more efficiently and be even better. Something similar to driving up and down the M1 in a Corsa everyday would equate to a smaller Remora. an i9 would be equivalent to a Focus/Puma sport and the i12 would be the top of the range Mondeo/Kuga. It would continue everyday without a hiccup and continue for years where the other two would loose power and efficiency a lot sooner. I did spend a lot of time googling and ringing people but only the Remora gave me the confidence where I wouldn't have to do anything else once I installed it. Since December the 2nd 2020, I have only gone and looked at it three times and that was only to see if it was still switched on. lol, in short I would choose Remora every time

Cheers bud. It all depends on the set up and your surroundings. Some people hoover Blanket weed up rather than let the treatment fully work and sometimes it is not needed. They are a godsend if you need them though.

Hi Kev, I bet all them yrs ago ronseal could never have imagined it's catchphrase would be used as much as it is lol, vac definitely has a longer reach than I expected, do the sections lock into each other or just slot onto each other, if slot on do you know if the sections float or sink, stay safe. Rob.
@AKoiEnthusiast

Cheers Rob. I can reach the far corner comfortably with it and the pond is nearly 3m wide and 1.2m deep. The sections push inside each other and I think they do float, unlike Spirit Levels. Don't buy one, you can borrow mine when you need it. Stay Safe

@@AKoiEnthusiast Cheers Kev, I'm slowly doing bits when I have the energy (and not raining) I've got most of insulation done but still got to tape it up, decided to redo 4" up pipe from bd, for months it's been niggling at me cos when I did it pipe didn't go all way in bend and no glue came out and seeing as will be under sheds concrete base I didn't want to risk it, a lot of soil to move but at least will give me peace of mind, and would be a bigger job if left it and it went, stay safe. Interesting video Kevin ..i noticed that you put your water to waste !! I have that hoover and if you return your water to the pond with the bag on the end and the hoover is not higher than the water level it doesn't work it just burns the motor out which i found to my cost my pond like yours is 50% below and 50% above so it is an absolute nightmare to use 😖😖 would like to know your feelings on this as i no longer use my hoover so it was a complete waste of money in my opinion Many thanks and stay safe 🌈🌈

Cheers for watching and commenting. I do not do much in the way of Water changes so for the sake of the demonstration it wasn't an issue. Plus the water is new and not mature so again it wasn't an issue this time. If I was going to recycle the pond water I would sit the hoover on the copings and dangle the discharge pipe and bag in to the Pond. To be really honest and I cannot remember if I mentioned it but it is over 18 months since I last used a hoover on the pond as the drain seems to work well. My other hoover is about 7 years old and is actually at a friends house as they use it more than me. This unit was a gift and as I knew there would be sand and fines from the window, I thought I would just do a quick video with it. It will possibly go back in to storage now or I might actually give it away on a Video. I looked at the top of the range and wow they are nice pieces of kit but what a price.

Strange question but how thick is the glass on this pond?
@AKoiEnthusiast
@AKoiEnthusiast 2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Brandon but it's not a strange question. Check out the two Videos from April about the Window and everything is explained in full details. Best thing I did with the Pond was fit that. Possibly the easiest too. The Glass is 25mm thick. I could have got away with 21mm but for the extra £20 I went for 25mm. Th Glass is actually 2 x 12mm of toughened Glass laminated together and Heat treated
