90s sounded fun. I feel bad if you grew up after the world lost its soul (2000) Yeah, I'm from 81. No smartphones and all that sh*t. I formed my own personality. I really feel sorry for this new generation. They sound, look and act all the same. Multimedia created their personality and I'm afraid they are going to suffer from personality crises and deep depression once they hit their 30s Memories and ourselves are all we have left in this fake and crazy world.. But its alright cause were strong!

It seems like yesterday that period, and also a long time ago now. It was a great time to be in your 20’s. I wasn’t at those gigs but it was “Britpop” at its peak. This was pre-internet, I hope something will one day come that will be as historic as this period of British culture.

I can't find it to say it seems like yesterday. This is definitely a lifetime ago. Our society isn't as carefree and liberal as this was with everybody coming together. Too much 'diversity' that's actually divided us. Our love for music just about keeps us binded. Thank goodness for Oasis.

Don’t get too nostalgic. I was at the first Knebworth gig and there were loads of problems (as partly covered in the doc). Booze got confiscated at the entrance, then a massive queue and inflated prices for beer inside. Also impossible to get to the rancid loo once you were deep into the crowd. This was also before me or my mates had mobile phones, so we were constantly paranoid we’d lose each other. Also, the site was too big. I measured Noel as being as big as my little finger nail, this was halfway toward the stage. Then getting home was a shit fest.

Lots of rose tinted comments in here, some with some thinly veiled racism. I lived the 90's saw Oasis 5 times, it was cool and all but I was a teenager, generally speaking things are always better when you have no responsibilities and your priority is having fun. My dad reckons the 60's were the best decade, just depends when you were born.
@Art-is-craft
@Art-is-craft 4 ай бұрын
Nothing rose tinted about it. A house back then was three times earnings, average car was one third of earnings, university education was free, trade college was easy to enter and a young person that was motivated got a career. Houses today are 10 times earnings and upward mobility is a fantasy to most people.

@@zaftra it's just an opinion mate, but to me this is awful stuff...everybody's trying to be cool and just coming across as total jerks, and the artificialness of Theakston and Middlemiss is embarrassing to watch. I think even at the time it felt like that particularly party was well over at this point, it had become so huge and mainstream it had lost its way, become codified and repacked for sale to the lowest common denominator customer. But it's just an opinion...if you think this was a better Oasis gig than, for example, Loch Lomond or Irvine Beach, that's fair enough but I think you're wrong.

@@zaftra just watching out of interest, theres no crime in that...I wasnt at Knebworth because I didn't fancy it, but I did see Oasis, Charlatans, Cast, Kula Shaker and the Manics in the 90s, so I think I'm allowed to watch and comment like anybody else 🤷🏻‍♀️
