This year marks 25 years since Oasis' iconic third album 'Be Here Now' was released and limited-edition collectors formats are available now to celebrate the anniversary. New formats include a double silver coloured LP on heavyweight vinyl, plus a picture disc, cassette and merch bundles exclusively available on the official store.
Buy/Stream 'Be Here Now': OasisMusic.lnk...
‘Be Here Now’ was released on 21st August 1997 and followed the success of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’, Oasis’ biggest selling album and the record that broke them globally. The previous summer, Oasis played to more than 250,000 people over two nights at Knebworth, with an astounding 2.5 million people applying for tickets. Released at midnight on Thursday 21st August 1997, at a time when most albums were released on Monday, ‘Be Here Now’ sold a staggering 400,000 copies on the first day in the UK, with 663,400 sales in just 3 days. It was No.1 in fifteen countries and remained at the top of the UK Album Chart for 4 weeks. To date, it has the most album sales in the first seven days of release in UK Official Chart history, and has sold over 8 million copies globally.

This is about Noel's childhood and the abuse he suffered from his dad. It's an anthem to every child that is mistreated and abused by a messed up dad. His childhood was horrific and he hardly ever talks about it. Love these guys...

I never knew the deep meaning of this song. After going through it line by line, this is one of the deepest songs I've ever heard. It's incredible. All my people right here right now, Noel is calling out to everyone suffering abuse.

I know Noel said that he can't be arsed, but I still really want a re-think of the whole album to be done! I love the absurd length, volume and excess of the original, but would still be cool to hear My Big Mouth and It's Getting Better Man remixed like this!

Summer of '97. so glad I lived my teenage years in the 1990's the decade was awesome and great tunes made great memories. I was 18 when Be Here Now came out and this song still gives me chills. Such a special time and Oasis was a very cool part of that appreciate it more now than back then great time to be young.

Somewhat jealous, I’m a teenager now and music today is just so degenerate and fake. Instead I listen to Oasis, The Kinks, The Who, The Beatles etc. Most kids my age listen to grime rap and other mainstream pop music. Only thing positive is that at least I had KZbin to discover all these bands on. It would’ve been sick to be around when a massive group like Oasis were at their peak.

Music that spoke to a generation and years later defined one. 90's youth was very fortunate to have what we had and the freedom to enjoy it also. Glad to hear your into the Beatles etc.... Lyrics : Step off the train all alone at dawn Back into the hole where I was born The sun in the sky never raised an eye to me The blood on the trax and must be mine The fool on the hill and I feel fine Don't look back cos you know what you might see Look into the wall of my mind's eye I think I know, but I don't know why The questions are the answers you might need Coming in a mess going out in style I ain't good-looking but I'm someone's child No one can give me the air that's mine to breathe I met my maker I made him cry And on my shoulder he asked me why His people won't fly through the storm I said 'Listen up man, they don't even know you're born' All my people right here, right now D'You Know What I Mean? All my people right here, right now D'You Know What I Mean? All my people right here, right now D'You Know What I Mean? Yeah, yeah I don't really care for what you believe So open up your fist or you won't receive The thoughts and the words of every man you'll need Get up off the floor and believe in life No-one's ever gonna ever ask you twice Get on the bus and bring it on home to me

Be Here Now was an orgy, a big fat splurge of sonic pomposity and swaggering bravado. Inordinate length and 'kitchen sink' mixing were the order of the day. It was Oasis at the max. That undertone of clenched-in anger in earlier songs such as Supersonic was here bevvied and partied away. Like Cool Britannia and Blair's Babes it couldn't last. Life just doesn't get to feel that good forever.

Come on lads, get oasis back together! It won’t just be the greatest return of a band in history, it’ll be the return of 2 brothers who helped shape a generation of music.

The thing is, I think every Oasis album would still be a hit if it was 'first released' right now. How many rock (Liam)/pop (Noel) bands can say that? BTW I prefer the original.

This version is so much less bloated. Even Liam's vocals sound clearer and better.
