Great work dude!!. Just a question: did you tune the guitar a bit over E standard? I was trying to get the tune of the original version and I can't catch it. I watched a video that it was common for some artist and bands to tune about 1/8 step up or down.

Could you tell me what chords are those and how to fret the ones other than E7 and D (talking about the chords just before Liam starts to sing)? This is absolutely one of my favourite Oasis' songs, but it's pretty hard for me since I'm not very fast in changing chord position yet (Champagne Supernova is much easier for that matter).

Outrageously cool cover man! I really like how you play the lead and rhythm parts together. Could you please tell me how you are fretting that B7 chord? Thank you for this video :)
@guitarstyle70825 жыл бұрын
Massive thanks for taking the time to write in. Appreciate it mate! Haha yes, it was fun doing that. Sure, I learned this by ear so I may have been hearing multi-tracked guitars on that B7 (so I'm sure there are plenty of easier ways to fret a B7) but at the time of this vid I played it something like: e ---0--- B ---4--- G ---2--- D ---X--- A ---2--- E ---X--- Give me a shout if there's anything else you'd like to know. Hope this helps & good luck!
@vac88465 жыл бұрын
@@guitarstyle7082 that's freaking awesome. Playing this song for a one-off cover band. Your B7 chord sound way more like the record than the standard B7 I was playing. I might get the other guitarist to play it the regular way and see how that sounds with your chord. This is hand down the best guitar cover of this song on youtube...please do more!
@guitarstyle70825 жыл бұрын
Ahh nice one! Good luck with the band. Would love to hear it if you get any recordings. Oh and thank you, yeah it's a strange one but that's all I could hear and the standard B7 just wasn't doing it for me lol. Great idea of having your second guitarist play standard, it might sound top notch! Appreciate your kind words once again, and the encouragement. I'll certainly look at doing more on KZbin this year. Best regards.

I heard that the ear picks up pitches slightly above standard tuning better than standard, hence why so many artists do this (Michael Jackson to Mac Demarco)

@guitarstyle70824 жыл бұрын
Sound, glad you enjoyed it. This guitar was made by Vintage, it's a VRS-100. Wilkinson hardware and humbucker pickups. It is pretty much a direct copy of the more premium brand PRS guitar, which retail well into the £1000's. This model amongst others were made so closely to the original that there was a court case over it. I added bird inlays to the fretboard to further the effect of it being a PRS lookalike. Cool guitars all round.

Amazing! But can you tell me, how did you tune your guitar for this song? Because I know it’s one of those songs where it sounds like it’s in between natural keys (sorry don’t know the correct terminology). But it truly is an amazing cover, sounds just like the real song :)
@guitarstyle70826 жыл бұрын
Hi Zoe! Thank you so much for your kind words. Good question and very well spotted! The terminology which might help you here is "concert pitch" (whereby everyone would tune to A440Hz). In the case of this Oasis record it could have been they roughly had an E note and tuned amongst themselves- being slightly off from concert pitch whist still in tune with eachother. It could also happen in the mastering stage when a tape is slightly sped up or slowed down, the pitch can vary here too. So in answer to your question, to get this song across I just tuned my E note to the first E chord when the song kicks in (which would be a few cents off being a concert pitch E, but would be in tune with Oasis). Once that was in sync, I tuned the rest of my guitar to that E string using the 5th fret to get an A note and so on. Hope this helps!
