Life is an illusion for those that are hopelessly addicted to some harmful act. Chain to the mirror and the razor blade is addiction to powdered drugs, the act of preparing the drug for use to get ready to put the illusion up for the day.

Music videos normally have nothing to do with the song meaning, even in those (internet-less) days when music videos had a big impact on the single/album sellings. For me this video is just a bunch of lads blasting their guitars and drums in their apartment, which is making all the surrounding neighbors crazy. The old man with the two bodyguards could represent the building owner.

Please don't take their videos too seriously, as a huge fan of Oasis since 1996, they've never made much sense to me either 😂 But thankfully, the other day a random video came up while i was on You Tube of Noel Gallagher (the song writer) saying he didn't have a bloody clue what their videos were all about either, and going by that, they must have been made for them at the time 🤣 Not a good look admittedly! 😂 I'll look for the video and let you know what it's called so you can see for yourself 😀 They were pretty much wasted back then so probably just allowed them to be made without a second glance 🙈😂

Americans always want to make some connection between the song and it's video. It's simple dude; The song came first, its a separate entity. Video's are also called visualisers or promotional videos (promo's). The visualiser is so that music can be played on TV and the like. Otherwise it would just be a static picture or blank screen. Not a very good thing in the 'modern' world. So the music video was born, coincidentally at the same sort of time as MTV etc. Radio doesn't require a visualiser, obviously. The music videos truly do not have anything to do with the song, unless some arty-farty director tries to incorporate some sort of narrative or tenuous interpretation. Music is about the music - listen to the song, arsed about what some poncey director thinks! Phew, ffs... (*nb, this doesn't mean that music videos can't be enjoyable, creative or relatable and fun - but the music comes first for its own integrity. Always.) they only make sense for those "in the know" i guess. they actually all have meaning but it's very inside knowledge stuff only nerds like me researched lol. this song has a lot of meaning within noel's journey to make it in the music business. very true that many of the lyrics are unconnected tho, ur definitely right about that. "whats the story morning glory?" was simply just a phrase one of noel's ex girlfriends would answer the phone with, instead of "hello". but it was in the time of his life that she saved him, hence wonderwall and talk tonight. he was down and out and she encouraged him to take a rest and then go back at it
