Dumping Tony was for the best, even after reading his book I respect him but clearly an inferior drummer to Alan White. However I agree, after Bonehead and Guigsy left the entire sound changed ... in a not so good way. As soon as Noel had to share songwriting duties, even though at the time he claimed it was helpful, years later he says 'I couldn't imagine going into the studio and running ideas by people' - the reality is he wanted to be in charge, not share power.

Sad to see the band sound in this state. Liams voice was shot, the band was finished im one of few oasis fans that is glad the band is done. I also hope they never reform, I saw them 16 times over the years and 2009 Heaton park was shocking. It will never be What it was. Great to see Liams solo success though

@@maxxhinch5271 you should listen to Alan then, twice as many drum strikes.
@thegoodsgone19653 жыл бұрын
It's better than Alan, but no one could get it as good as Tony and there are very specific technical reasons for this - namely that most drummers use the Moeler technique which puts an accent on the first and third beat of every four hi-hat beats whereas because Tony didn't know anything about technique he just accented every hi-hat beat (he sort of bobbed up and down with his body too which accentuated each beat even more) and this is why I think he had a lot more punch when he played 'Supersonic' and other tunes.
