I had a cockatiel back in the 90s that LOVED this song and would whistle along with it. 😊

Oasis have sold over 70 million records worldwide, and been cited by Guinness World Records as the most successful act in the United Kingdom between the years 1995 and 2005. They've also won over 40 music awards.

Love this song! It's a classic song in British culture. It's often played at the end of a night! Please do Don't Look Back In Anger and Stop Crying Your Heart Out
@e.h.buchmann23 Жыл бұрын
You've hit the nail on the head, a lot of indie/alt rock bands cite these guys as their inspiration. This is one of their biggest hits, but by far not their best song. If you'd like to listen to more, try Live forever, Champagne Supernova, Stop Crying Your Heart Out or Don't Look Back In Anger (which is sung by the other brother 🙂)

The Gallagher brothers aren’t twins but definitely looked alike at points Noel the guitarist in this video is actually five years older than Liam (the singer of this song) Noel was the brains behind Oasis and wrote basically every song and played guitar on most songs if not all And he did sing lead vocals on some of the bands songs and sings plenty of these songs live despite his brother singing lead on the records Some people actually prefer Noel’s voice and versions of Oasis songs Personally I feel you can feel that Noel has a better connection to the songs as he was the one who wrote them Both Noel and Liam don’t like each other and have a had pretty successful careers away from Oasis with Noel and Liam both having released music as solo artist and in groups such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Beady Eyes (Liam’s group)

Yeah, let's have a 1990s Britpop run: Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede, Elastica, Lush, Sleeper, Placebo...

@@paultaylor9498 Yeah, and The Sisters of Mercy and The Cure aren't 'Goth', but we're not talking political manifestos when we use these terms, just broad references for an associated era and locality of bands, especially where that era is intermingled with popular cultural terms made universal by the mainstream media of the time. If there hadn't been some underlying perceived cultural equivalency, Blur vs Oasis wouldn't have had legs.

Oasis were a huge band back then and still are to this day - the legacy they left and the crying out for them to reunite shows this! Wonderwall is maybe their most widely known song but it isnt the best they did. Masterplan is one of my faves.

Ahhhhhhhhhh yes!!!! Love oasis!!! They were such an awesome group! ‘What’s the story morning glory’ is one of my favourite albums and reminds me very much of the year I left school. Next songs to reacted to in no particular order, The masterplan, Half a world away and Whatever all sung by Noel, his voice is insane. He has a group called ‘Noel Gallagher’s high flying birds’ which is definitely another check out xx

This song hit me hard at the right time of my life.... Getting into early adulthood and looking to get out of bs relationships and finding the one to "save me". I'm not sure I like Oasis as people (you were close, Noel and Liam Gallagher are brothers, and it's worth looking into their story 😂), but this song will always resonate, the album as a whole is mid 90s perfection, as is their look in this video.

Very iconic ‘90s band and song! Great choice. As other have noted, Oasis was heavily influenced by the Beatles. The title of this song was inspired by an album of electronic music created by George Harrison (released when the Beatles were still an active group) titled “Wonderwall”. Enjoying your reactions, as always. Keep up the great work! Take care ✌️

The look-alike band members are brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. Liam was singing lead on this song and Noel (who wrote the song) was singing backing vocals. They are known for having a volatile relationship and were not speaking to each other for years, but I read recently that they are possibly trying to patch things up some.

Liam does the whole vocal - no backing from Noel,despite the video.

The Gallagher brothers were known for having tantrums on stage, fists and all. And unfortunately, they compared themselves to The Beatles, which didn't go over well. That aside, they were extremely big for a while and put out quite a few great songs. Love this one and Champagne Supernova. I hope they mellowed out in their older age. I know I have!
@danielturner4851 Жыл бұрын
The Beatles were their idols, and i think when they used to compare themselves it was of course a hope they would be as big as them. I would say they reached that by how popular their songs are and the fact that people still want to see them.

Oasis are in the mid 90s the biggest band in the UK, arguably the world. The two members of the band you thought were twins are actually brothers, older brother Noel Gallagher, who plays lead guitar and is made vocal on some songs, and younger brother Liam, who was the lead vocal on most of their songs, and you're right has a very distinctive voice. They didn't get on and often fell out, cancelling gigs at the last minute whilst on world tours, which was the main reason the band split up eventually. Other songs of theirs with checking out are Don't Look Back In Anger, The Masterplan, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, and Supersonic, there are many more but these will do for now.

I went to one of their shows in Chicago when Liam decided at the last minute he'd rather go house shopping then show up. Noel ended up doing the vocals for the whole concert and I realized Liam wasn't really necessay.

Oooh this is a nice wee surprise I love it when you react to indie pop/rock. I'd love to see a reaction to a favourite band of mine from my homeland of bonnie Scotland. A wonderful group called Texas fronted by the superb Sharleen Spiteri. They done a collab with Wu Tang Clan a few years back called Hi. Classy summer tune ❤ another fab reaction ❤

Oasis were from Manchester. The lead singer is liam Gallagher.his older brother is the song writer noel Gallagher.not twins. They are fans of the beatles with liam even calling his son that he had with actress and singer of eighth wonder (try I'm not scared)lennon.notice his lennon glasses. Please do the videos for champane supernova. Don't look back in anger. Noel takes lead vocals for that one.

The '90s were a time when so-called "alternative rock" essentially went mainstream. The album this is from - (What's the Story) Morning Glory - became the bestselling British album of the entire decade and Oasis would ultimately have 8 number-one hit singles in the UK. (For comparison, pop band Take That have had 12, though they've also existed longer as a group.) Funnily enough "Wonderwall" wasn't one of them, peaking at Number 2 in the UK despite being their biggest international hit. Anyway, I recommend "Morning Glory" (not one of their most famous, but I remember the music video getting plenty airplay in Canada when I was a kid). Also "Live Forever," "Champagne Supernova," "Supersonic" and "Don't Look Back in Anger."

One does not often see the musical saw being utilized. So that's cool. Marlene Dietrich played the saw. That's all I know about Oasis...in other words...nothing! LOL Except they were inescapable in the mid 90s and the brothers have been in a perpetual fight since forever.

Liam always seemed so arrogant to me but what stood out last few years was him mentioning not being happy that Jay z playing the glastonbury festival because he was a "rapper". Jay didn't say anything back to him but sang this song loved it!

I have a little knowledge to add to what's already been said Bryson, The band are working class guys from Manchester UK (think Morrissey). They were heavily influenecd by The Beatles - note the lead-singer's (Liam) Lennonesque glasses. Liam's son is called Lennon. Big ongoing hassle between the brothers. Traditionally major rivalry between Oasis and London-based band Blur in the 90's and perhaps beyond. Only today I've listened to a live performance of "Cigarettes & Alcohol" Wembley 2008 which was super (sic). Hope this helps ... Bye!!🖐
