This song is about being yourself and staying true to what you believe. People like to hate on this song, but I reckon 'Roll With It' is one of Oasis' best. It perfectly captures what the band was all about, sound, image and message-wise. The opening three-chord-progression shows the clear 60s influence. The lyrics sum up what Oasis are about, just about not giving a fuck and enjoying life. Lastly, a good portion of the track has a lot of emotional tension in the chord progression, the kind that made everyone fall in love with Wonderwall. It also features a stellar performance from Liam, a simple but great solo/instrumental interlude from Noel and was recorded live, as a band, which captures Oasis' live performance skills. Plus it was released at the height of Britpop, battling it out with Blur's 'Country House'.
