my father would always play this song in the car while we were driving. i used to call it “the longest song in the whole world”. i would say that line and he would play it. unfortunately, he died when i was nine years old. when he died my world was quite for a bit. but i’ve always found myself re-finding this song in different parts in my life when i need it most. i’m nineteen now, a whole decade later and i think he’s talking to me when i listen to it now. “someday you will find me, caught beneath the landslide in a champagne supernova in the sky” in some weird way, i think of this as some full circle moment, almost like he was preparing me , knowing i’d always have this song. i love you dad. thank you for always guiding me back to this song.

Hey dude. I so much agree. About ten years ago I was having a bad day - family issues, self-analysis and all that crap. I got in my motor and drove 30 miles around the countryside with Oasis blaring on the CD. I'm not here for the reason most people would expect, but if you have time for story time, feel free to read on. I had a cat for 14 years. His name was Thor. I got him as a kitten back in 2010. Thor wasn't like your typical cat. Even if you consider yourself not to be much of a cat person, I always said if you spent just 20 minutes with him, he could change that for you. He was a gentle giant who gave so much love, never had a single mean bone in his body and was always there for me during some of the most difficult times in my life when it counted the most. Now you're probably wondering, how does any of this tie into a song by Oasis? Well every Summer, I would bring him up 2 hours North to the White Mountain region of New Hampshire where my mom lives where he would stay for vacation for a few weeks because he always loved his Grandma who would always spoil him with all his favorite treats. Of course being a cat, car rides were never his favorite thing and he'd become very anxious during the rides to and from. I don't know what it was that he liked so much about it, but I would always put this song on in the car for him because for some reason it would calm him down and get him to relax. Fast forward to the present day. A little over two months ago, I lost Thor after a bad case of arthritis in his hips that he had been slowly declining from the past few years brought him to the end of his life. The very next day after he had passed, I was driving home from work and this song just so happened to come on the radio. I've never been a very emotional person, but I shed a stream of more tears on that drive home than I have in the last 10 years. He was everything to me and was the rock of my life. With each day that has passed since then, it gets a little more manageable to deal with. But unfortunately, it never stops hurting any less. He was the best cat I could have ever asked for and left such an impact on my life which has helped me become the man I am today. Without him, it just wouldn't have been the same. Though I may be sad that he is gone, he still gives me the strength to continue growing and becoming a better version of myself each day. But he will never be forgotten, and there will never be another like him. RIP Thor 6/23/2010 - 6/8/2024 🙏😻✝🌠 I miss you buddy. Rest easy...

This song will always be important to me because when I got out of the military in 2005 after 9/11 I hung out with a group of friends that truly lived a time from social obligations. We had a few summer parties where this song rang true. It was before the responsibilities of turning 30 and beyond brought. The first album my sister and I bought, it changed our lives. My dad took us to see them live in the 1998 Tour in Mexico City (we lived 5 hour's drive); I was 14, and my sister 15. It was such a huge deal back then. We saw Liam chilling next to the stage; we were maybe 5 meters away. My heart was pounding when they came on stage, and we sang our hearts out. My dad disappeared, probably so we could enjoy it. Thanks to music, my sister and I shared a strong bond created over those years. Forever memories.

I remember being around 13 years old when this album first came out. I was flipping through the channel and I landed on MTV in the middle of this video and was absolutely spellbound. I had no idea who they were or what the song was but I was riveted. When it was over I was just dumbfounded. I spent the next few days watching MTV for hours trying to see if they would play it again. When they did it was glorious. I remembered the name and went out with my parents and bought the album. It's still one of the greatest albums of all time. I'll always love this gloriously epic song even after all these years.
