Lyrics:
Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday
I've got a lot of things to learn
Said I would and I'll be leaving one day
Before my heart starts to burn
So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
Times are hard when things have got no meaning
I've found a key upon the floor
Maybe you and I will not believe in
The things we find behind the door
So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows
Yeah, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
If you're leaving will you take me with you
I'm tired of talking on my phone
There is one thing I can never give you
My heart will never be your home
So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows
Yeah, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
The way it's gonna be, yeah
Maybe I can see, yeah
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me, nobody knows
Yeah, God only knows, the way it's gonna be

The 90's will always be the best decade for music for me. Loved being a teen in the 90's. I am revisiting Oasis as my five year old asked me to buy him this song after hearing it on the Halifax advert and has been continously singing it for days. I miss the 90's so much and wish my little boys could experience a time like it instead of all the chaos of the last few years. Much love to everyone. Xx

This is one of Oasis' best. The Liam and Noel harmonies. The riffs in the verses and refrains. The synchronisation of the drum/guitar to the shots of the band. And the power of the lyrics: "There is one thing I can never give you, my heart will never be a home"

I dont know why but this may be objectively the best oasis song... There are of other good songs, but this one is has what all those other songs have and its massively popular. This song is the definition of perfection, and one of the best songs Oasis ever did. From the little intro solo from 0:14 to 0:30, to the way Liam sings the "So what's the matter with you? Sing me something new" line, to Noel's backing vocals when they sing the chorus, this song showcases the true genius behind Oasis. Musically and lyrically

"Stand By Me" Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday I've got a lot of things to learn Said I would and I'll be leaving one day Before my heart starts to burn. So what's the matter with you? Sing me something new ... Don't you know The cold and wind and rain don't know They only seem to come and go away Times are hard when things have got no meaning I've found a key upon the floor Maybe you and I will not believe in the things we find behind the door So what's the matter with you? Sing me something new ... Don't you know The cold and wind and rain don't know They only seem to come and go away Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be Stand By Me -- Nobody knows, yeah, nobody knows the way it's gonna be If you're leaving will you take me with you I'm tired of talking on my phone There is one thing I can never give you My heart will never be your home So what's the matter with you?
