Hey you, wearing the crown Making no sound I heard you feel down Well, that's just too bad Welcome to my world Hey you, stealing the light I've heard that the shine's Gone out of your life Well, that's just too bad Welcome to my world You'll need assistance with the things that you Have never ever seen It's just a case of never breathin' out Before you've breathed it in How does it feel When you're inside? I can’t check all 909,000 comments, but has anyone ever noticed that Up In The Sky starts out sounding like Paperback Writer, then blends into something that sounds like Tomorrow Never Knows (from Revolver), minus the offbeat syncopation of Tomorrow Never...?. The song then morphs into a distinct Oasis sound, but keeps returning to the two Beatles songs overlayed on one another, as the main theme. If I sound like a noob stating the obvious, it’s because I just heard this song for the first time. I know Oasis has been compared to the Beatles, and I’ve understood why, since I know the Morning Glory album well. I’d just never heard Definitely Maybe before, being I’m a little older than Oasis’ fan base, and wasn’t a hipster anymore when Oasis came on the scene. I think Oasis’ first two albums are some of the coolest music in Rock history. They definitely came from a Beatles background, yet they have one of the most unique sounds ever. Great song, great band.
