That voice over at the start was on point, and the cheeky catapult sneaking down the flank was great!

Thanks mate! That catapult was an evil of my own making. Valuable lessons learned!

might have found it, under shooting example it does mention the unit shooting is "using the maximum of 5 dice". odd wording, threw me off for sure in the combat section.
@warcorgi36233 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question as it is an important one. The limit of five dice is in the first paragraph of the Determine Combat Dice section under the Combat section.
@joshuaholt62983 жыл бұрын
@@warcorgi3623 I was reading it as number of models (max 5) times number of dice, not number of models times dice (max 5), the wording is odd

Love the intro and the map, nicely done. Good game with no failed critical activation times for you Michel. The wraith was nasty tho and think given a few turns would of won the day.

Yeah shadowform seems to be dramatically undercosted ;) (as are most monsters of high point values)

Thanks Doug. I am anxious to see both the Elves and Orcs with more points on the table in a more standard scenario. They will come back for Scenario 2 which should be great!

The wraith was pretty nasty, but those archers!!!! I was worried the skaven were just going to be pin cushions with little melee until the wraith came to the rescue and shut the archers down. Very good game though. Enjoyable to watch.

Nice report guys! We have found the Wraiths to be a bit OP for the cost, they can wreck you.
@warcorgi36233 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! And we absolutely agree on the Wraiths. As you mentioned in your last battle report, fireballs seem the best way to bring them down which isn't great news for Elves considering the points cost of their mages.

I love these reports! One thing I am not sure of is do the hills block vision, I think it would make for a more tactical battle if they do!

For the issues you guys face with monsters, it seems like Michael is mostly frustrated with the lack of counterplay. I have a couple of ideas that might help you feel like you have options: 1. A neutral spell that gives a unit +1 or +2 fight vs. monsters. This would have the opportunity cost of needing to take it on your mages and it would have chances to not activate with probably about a 6-7 activation cost. This could make it so that your mages could enchant some units to hunt monsters and create a little sub-game of go get the big guy. It would also mean that your opponent has to think about what units they engage their monsters with instead of just bulldozing them around. 2. A magic item that gives a champion +1 or +2 fight vs. monsters. Same cost/benefits as above but for lists without wizards (even though you guys love your wizards :) ).
@warcorgi36233 жыл бұрын
I like it but I'm not sure it goes far enough. Now if you could roll all champion dice for a unit, then we would be talking!

love the intro! and all the reports. had a question though....when on turn 4 (I think) your mage fired a fireball across the table at the wraith shouldn't she have launched it at a closer unit? Or does she have aimed fire?fore? it had no bearing on the game because she failed the cast but was just curious
@warcorgi36233 жыл бұрын
Good question. Spells are a special case in that you can target any unit within line of sight. Once you successfully cast the spell, then you conduct the ranged attack on the unit you targeted. Therefor, you do not need to target the closest unit to the spellcaster.
