Ahhhh we want to visit this part of the world so badly!!!! IT’S SO COLORFUL!!! And the food… 😋 It looks like this city has a really great vibe 😊

You'll get there, everyone does. Mexico is one of our favorite places. So much of the food is regional so you can get different delicious things in different areas!

And you got a great bird pic! 😅

Nor can we take credit for the bird pic! 😆 (Credit in the description.) You need a real camera for bird pics, with a great zoom, and we just can't carry all that.

Nice video! Thank you. I'm traveling to Mexico soon (first time) and Oaxaca is one of the places on my list to visit. However, I intend to find somewhere there to live as an expat and Oaxaca is highest on my list. The more I learn about it, the more it appeals to me. Of course I won't know until I visit!

When you are looking for a place to live, you have to find a place that has that special spark that resonates with you. Oaxaca City is definitely a place worth checking out to see how you like it!

Very cool concerts! Did you get a drone?
@tendegreeswarmer9 ай бұрын
We don't have a drone...yet... Really now that we are carry-on only we'd have no room for it.
@tendegreeswarmer9 ай бұрын
But yes they had a ton of free concerts and it was a lot of fun checking them out. One was karaoke in the square, and we got to see a girl belt out "Heartbreaker" which just seemed wildly out of place and yet amazing.

Hi there! Did you like your accomodations in Oaxaca?
@tendegreeswarmer9 ай бұрын
We rented a basic apartment in a family compound through Airbnb. It wasn't amazing or anything I'd recommend to others, but we are pretty easy to please so it was good for us. If we go back I won't be scared to look for something nicer a bit farther away from the Zocolo - the city is very walkable and we felt very safe.

@@tendegreeswarmerOutstanding! Thank you for all the great ideas. I'm also someone that has been slowly exploring Mexico state by state and can't wait to get there eventually

We are starting to plan a summer trip there. What section would you stay in? Is 2 weeks enough?
@tendegreeswarmer8 ай бұрын
We stayed about six blocks south of the Zocolo. But really everywhere we walked felt fine, we had seem some nice places farther to the east that we were worried about being too far, but now that I've been there, I would feel totally fine walking a bit farther if the place was worth it. Overall we felt very safe and comfortable, even in the evenings. As for time, 2 weeks will be enough to see the big attractions, just depends on how much you want to relax. We stayed a month and could easily have stayed longer if we'd had the time, it is just a comfortable city. I hope you enjoy yourselves!

@@tendegreeswarmer thanks for taking the time to reply! We're currently in San Miguel de Allende. We mostly love it, although the Winter mornings in an airbnb without heat aren't that fun!

@@ProgRockPianoBar We spent December in a very cold apartment in Albufeira in the Algarve. We did have heat luckily, but we were paying extra for electricity so we were nervous about using it too much. Looking back I wish we ha😀d used it more, cause it was much colder inside than it was outside. lol We were in Oaxaca in November into December, and it was fortunately not cold at all.
