Dia de Muertos in Oaxaca (Day of the dead) has been a bucket list item for me for YEARS now! So I was so excited to be able to celebrate day of the dead in Oaxaca Mexico. I get my face painted, attend the parades, visit graveyards and do all things Mexican during this HUGE Mexican festival!
This episode is part of my solo backpacking trip around Latin America! I hope you enjoy this Mexico Travel Vlog series and stay tuned for the next one 🇲🇽

It is not frowned upon to share cemetery experience. It's an open celebration. This was beautiful 🧡

It's not frowned upon but you also got to remember that they're people and people that are grieving not everyone is going to be happy

@@rayray9865 the celebration of DDLM is a public celebration. It is not a solemn day. Although people can get emotional during this time, it's not closed. It is and always has been open to the public. Since the aztect who literally decorated the levels of the pyramids for strangers to come and look. This is why there are ofrendas in the street and cemeteries are open. I grew up visiting the cemeteries in Mexico where my family are from. People line the inside and outside waiting to see how beautiful it looks. Mariachi play and people drink openly.... in the cemetary. It's literally a huge party. So yeah, if someone is having a hard time, it's probably going to be noticed. Even then, the people standing by will offer a hug and talk. This is what I meant about her taking pictures or video clips. Taking pictures of the celebration is original in Mexico ever since they were able to share their culture that way. Non indigenous people are more than welcome to adopt the culture as well.

pulque does have alcohol just it's not the only thing it has, and it's an artisanal ferment drink, it like a beer. Anyway, do you order tequila in Oaxaca? 😱 They didn't get mad?? The drink of Oaxaca is mezcal and it's kinda a rival of tequila
@lifewithvicx
@lifewithvicx Жыл бұрын
Haha that’s what I was saying but they said that one was ‘sin alcohol’ when we asked how strong it was.. just as confused as you haha! Yeah they sell both of them everywhere they didn’t get offended as it was a pulque and tequila bar 🙃

@@lifewithvicx I have a question, the free alcohol pulque was sweet? 🤔And I have another question, it wasn't slimy? Maybe I'm wrong, but if it wasn't slimy and it was sweet, probably what you drank was "aguamiel de agave", Technically it is not pulque, but they sell it as alcohol-free pulque, something like alcohol-free beer, that means is the liquid that usually is fermented but before being fermented.
