Retired OB nurse here. One of our docs had a patient who had been trying to get pregnant for a few years with no success. Every test available came back as normal. About a year prior to being on L&D they had been talking to him and said they didn't understand, every time he "finishes" he had a large amount of "fluid". When the doc asked how they knew how much he had she giggled and said "well, I have to wipe it off my leg each time". There was never penetration, just other forms of excitement with him unloading on her thigh. They had a beautiful baby girl a year after doc gave them a lesson on sex ed. They had no idea it was supposed to go inside. I know this was in there but this is still my fav story and did actually happen to us, lol, although I think my doc was one of the first to start using it 20, years ago. I have never heard of it at the time. Years ago with my fav doctor, after a lovely birth with a happy and healthy Mom and baby. Dad turns to the doctor and (I assume ironically) asks for the husband stitch (when someone sews up the V a lot tighter than it should be in order to give a better s3x experience for the male) and this doc, without missing a beat, says "Sure, how small do I need to make it?" I had to leave the room 🤣 but not before I saw the Dad turn bright red.

Story 36 made me feel grateful about how my experience was nothing like what that poor woman went through. In less than 24 hours after my first pregnancy ended up being a ruptured ectopic while I was visiting with my dad and stepmother, my husband, my mom, and my brother (and his wife and three children, including an infant) were all there to help and support me after rushing over immediately. That poor woman should file for divorce and sole custody.

More sad than crazy, but my mom's a nurse and once assisted in a premature birth that didn't go well, and it was clear that the baby was not going to make it. She heard the dad talking on the phone to relatives saying something like "he's a little small, but he's doing fine." Yeesh, that guy telling his wife to stop moaning while she's actively miscarrying is infuriating. Reminds me of a video I saw where a dad chastised his little kid for crying after he was badly stung by a jellyfish.

Story 32: As a big baby myself, who didn't fit through my mom's pelvis, I'm glad the doctors went with the c-section option instead of breaking one of my shoulders.. I think the scar I have on top of my head, from them trying to use a suction cup is enough 😅 My mom told me that's the only time she's seen my dad turn white. But to be fair the way she describes it sounds wild as well. The doctor had one foot up on the bed as a kind of help to try and pull me out. Of course not to pull as hard as they possibly could, but to get some stability I think. But I can understand how it would look to any partner 😂

Story #16, about the husband that asked when his wife could eat after giving birth. The nurse responded, "a coupe of hours." Why? Vaginal birth is difficult and requires a lot of energy. She should have been allowed to eat immediately! My wife was in labor for a long time and missed the hospital meal times, both because of the crazy hour we'd arrived at the hospital AND her labor. The minute everything had calmed down, she asked for some food and it was brought o us. First thing in the morning, as soon as they were open, I went out and got her a Subway sandwich, too. Unless the reason why the mom in that story was recovering from anesthesia, she should have been able to as soon as she was ready. OR that hospital had some weird rules regarding their kitchen. In that case, the nurse should have said anytime and allowed did to go out and get food for his wife.
