DISCUSSION SUMMARY Challenges and Goals of the New Syria Syria is entering a new phase, with the goal of establishing a state of institutions, law, and justice, and rebuilding the country's infrastructure and economy after years of war and destruction 01:10. The main challenges facing the country include protecting institutions, restoring services, and rebuilding damaged infrastructure, particularly in cities like Aleppo, which has suffered greatly due to bombing and war 02:06. The government is working to evaluate and address the weaknesses in various ministries and to restore services to the Syrian people, with the goal of reviving the economy and education sectors 04:08. The decision to launch a military operation to deter aggression is a sovereign Syrian decision, taken in coordination with various factions involved in the Syrian revolution, and is driven by popular pressure to return displaced people to their homes 05:13. The operation aims to liberate Syrian territory, return displaced people to their homes, and expel Iranian militias, and is seen as a bold decision that reflects the will of the Syrian people 06:28. The decision to launch the operation was delayed to avoid conflicting with Arab and Islamic public opinion, particularly in relation to the Palestinian cause and support for groups like Hezbollah 08:28. The Syrian revolution has clear goals, including toppling the Assad regime, returning refugees and displaced people to their homes, and building a state based on institutions, law, and justice 10:34. The Syrian Revolution and its Success The revolution's success was facilitated by Russia's preoccupation with its war in Ukraine, allowing the Syrian opposition to prepare and launch operations quickly 09:12. The opposition's military preparations, which took place over four years, played a significant role in their rapid progress on the ground 09:36. The opposition's offer of amnesty to Assad's soldiers who laid down their arms was also an important factor in their success 10:11. Vision for the Future of Syria The future of Syria involves building a state with a ministry of defense, institutions, and a clear system, which will help to establish internal peace and unity 11:54. The Syrian opposition seeks to establish a state that is in harmony with its Arab and regional surroundings and the existing international balance of power 11:19. Israel's previous interventions in Syria were due to the presence of Iranian forces, but now that these forces have been expelled, the reasons for Israeli aggression have been removed 14:36. Leadership and International Relations The Syrian opposition leader, Ahmed, has become a revolutionary symbol and is widely admired by the Syrian people 15:24. The new administration in Syria has had active and positive meetings with ambassadors from countries like Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, and Italy, with the ambassadors promising to increase coordination and support for the new administration 17:35. Constitutional Reform and Governance A constitutional committee will be formed from Syrian personalities with legal and constitutional expertise to review and amend the constitution 18:42. The Syrian people have a lot of potential and expertise in the legal and constitutional fields, and they have the ability to produce a new system of governance that suits the culture of Syrian society 19:09. Learning from the Idlib Experience The experience of the Syrian revolution in Idlib is a valuable one, where the revolution was able to establish a civil administration alongside its military operations, and this experience can be built upon in other Syrian cities 22:43. The Syrian people were previously deprived of their rights to practice politics or sovereignty under the Ba'ath regime and the Assad regime, but the revolution has given them the opportunity to gain experience and build a new system 23:22. Building a State of Institutions and Law The coming period will see the establishment of a state with institutions and a state of law, where the Syrian people can govern themselves through the experiences of their children who have lived through the revolution 24:07. The Syrian people have many advantages and characteristics, including being a generous and noble people who love dignity and are loyal to those who have become part of their society, including refugees who have been living in Syria for over 14 years 24:54.

So they will respect the international balance of power in the region. So no challenge to Israel. For those claiming they were supported by Israel, why did Israel attack Syrian weapon stores the moment the independent government came to power while Israel never attacked the weapon stores when the Assad regime was in power for half a century?

@nizal9388Ай бұрын
Merging all factions into a national army is pointless as islamic sentiments are stronger than national ones. Islamic sentiments mobilised the most effective fighters in the most effective factions. You will make a mistake to forget this. Also, any national army which respects the international balance of power undermines the independence of such a national army. Nationalism just creates a poor fighting force all around the Muslim world while also making such a national army just a brutal police against the people. Instead islamic sentiments should be at the top.
@kay-hamaАй бұрын
I disagree. Without a unified army, these factions will continue to be labeled as rebels or militias by global superpowers. Moreover, Assad's regime soldiers remain active in western Syria, refusing to disarm. Any action they take will likely be framed as an attack against the government rather than a conflict with a group of rebels. The reasons why this merger is essential are too numerous to list in full.
@nizal9388Ай бұрын
@kay-hama the former regime army is gone. It's soldiers have removed their uniforms to escape revenge attacks. There will be men who will deny they were ever in the military. Practically calling for a national army and demanding they put their weapons down only gives Assad would supporters chance to attack. In reality the previous colonial puppet regime is just not in power. It's military which it barely had was propped by external players like Russia and Iran who have agreed to leave. Even Assad demanded Iranians leave, few weeks before his fall as he didn't want to be associated with the axis of resistance at least in the eyes of the west. Sectarian or Islamist forces have proven more effective fighting forces than national militaries in the middle east. Saddam's army collapsed after 4 weeks. The remaining 9 years were fought by jihadi forces. Isis took over Iraq and the Iraqi national army collapsed. Iraqi Shia militias removed Isis from Iraq not the useless Iraqi national army. Islamist rebels is Syria defeated the Syrian regime under the western backed secular Syrian rebels and was only weakened by russian airstrikes and Isis on the ground. Yemen's houthis are another example. Afghan national army defeated by Taliban. National armies do not defend borders but brutalise the people. This is what middle east modern history shows. When the rebels were not in power the western media tried to paint them with the same brush as Isis. They are now in power...they didn't need the approval of the media back then and do not need it now.

So basically it might get banned or it might be allowed. Either way it's not prohibited. Whereas Shari'ah bans it full stop.

If you don’t understand basic Islamic Jurisprudence then you really shouldn’t be commenting. Islam forbids the consumption of alcohol for Muslims under the Sharia however permits it for non-Muslims. Syria has a minority yet considerable Christian and non-Muslim population. It is well documented during the Rashidun Caliphate under the rule of Umar Ibn Khattab (RA) the selling and consumption of alcohol was permitted under the framework of the Sharia for non-Muslims.
