From the war in Yemen to raves in Riyadh, political analyst Sami Hamdi analyses the ‘modern’ Saudi Arabia as a regional power. Many see the country to be a staunch ally, even stooge of the United States, yet others hail its recent strategic turn under Muhammad Bin Salman as a sign that at last the country is looking to forge an independent path. From moon sighting to Hajj, the country remains at the centre of Muslim religious life, yet we can’t but observe with horror the activities of its crown prince and de facto leader and his vanity infrastructure projects such as NEOM. So how do we analyse the country and its future?
Sami Hamdi is the Managing Director of the International Interest, a global risk and intelligence company. He advises governments on the geopolitical dynamics of Europe and the MENA region and has significant expertise in advising companies on commercial issues related to volatile political environments and their implications on market entry, market expansion, and managing of stakeholders. Sami is also featured as a commentator for Aljazeera (Arabic and English), Sky News, BBC, TRT World, and other outlets.

He even says like he is someone who knows inner workings of Saudi people that BIN SALMAN told the West he wants to remove Islam from Saudi Arabia when we know that Allah protected the Kaaba from Abraha before islam and Allah will Protect the Kaaba n surrounding again I know one thing anyone who wants followers just starts spewing lies and nonsense about Kaaba islam and Nabi saw albeit in a concerned manner and see how muslims will want to listen n Sami n Muslims thinkers knows that and that’s why they come along and maki wild False accusations so it’s drama all the way

Dear brother or sister, the moment you spend time on healing your trauma from childhood and living in Pakistan (I'm from Karachi and massively traumatised from living there), there's a huge opening that occurs and one can be authentic and connected to Allah in a profound manner that the light you emanate speaks for itself. The Palestinians are living their lives and making a revolution of the mind and heart. You can too. Just do your best to heal trauma and release any indoctrination that isn't you and emotions need to be processed and released. I'm 40 years old and still having to deal with that. Ask Allah swt for help to open your heart to receive ❤

@marliahardy7755
@marliahardy7755 11 ай бұрын
May Allah guide you Ameen Ya Rabb. The Qur’an is a book of guidance that appeals to both the mind and heart and lays down a unified ethical system anchored in eternally valid and life-enriching moral principles. A feature of the Qur’an is the blending of law and morality, as in the message on divorced women: “And so, when you divorce women and they reach the end of their waiting term, then either retain them in a fair manner or let them go in a fair manner. And do not retain them to their hurt or by way of transgression; whoever will do that will indeed wrong himself. Do not take the signs of God in jest and remember God’s favor upon you.” Thus, moral action is not only a personal matter but also a social concern and always connected to belief in God: Piety is not to turn your faces towards the East and the West; piety is he who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book and the Prophets; who gives of his money, in spite of loving it, to the near of kin, the orphans, the needy, the wayfarers and the beggars, and for the freeing of slaves. [And truly pious] are those who keep their word whenever they promise, and are patient in misfortune and hardship and in times of peril; it is they that have proved themselves true, and it is they who are conscious of God. Humbleness “And the servants of The Most Gracious (God) are those who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: ‘Peace.’ ”Qur’an 25:63 The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to prevent people from standing up for him out of respect. He used to sit wherever there was a place available in an assembly and never sought a prominent or elevated place. He never wore anything to distinguish himself from his companions or appear in higher rank than them. He used to mix with the poor and the needy; he used to sit with the elderly and support the widows. People who did not know him could not tell him apart from the rest of the crowd. Addressing his companions, he said: “Allah has revealed to me, that you must be humble. No one should boast over one another, and no one should oppress another.” Such was his humbleness that he was fearful of being worshipped, a privilege only befitting God: “Do not exceed bounds in praising me as the Christians do in praising Jesus, Son of Mary. I am only the Lord’s servant; then call me the Servant of Allah and His Messenger.” The Ideal Husband “And live with them (your spouses) in kindness.”Qur’an 4:19 The Prophet’s beloved wife, Aa’isha, said of her noble husband: “He used to repair his shoes, sew or mend his clothes and do what ordinary men did in their houses.” Not only was he a devoted husband, he also encouraged his companions to follow his example: “The most perfect of the believers in faith are the best of them in morals. And the best among them are those who are best to their wives.” The Ideal Example “Indeed you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted standard of character.”Qur’an 68:4 What has preceded is only a glimpse of how Muhammad (peace be upon him) lived his life. The examples of kindness and mercy mentioned may come as a surprise to some people given the portrayal of Islam in the media and its constant misrepresentation. It is important when trying to understand Islam that one goes directly to its sources: The Qur’an, and the sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and that anyone does not judge Islam based on the errant actions of a few Muslims. Comments from Non-Muslims Mahatma K Gandhi, a major political and spiritual leader of the Indian independence movement, remarked: “It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle.” George Bernard Shaw, the British playwright, declared: “The world is in dire need of a man with the mind of Muhammad; religious people in the Middle Ages, due to their ignorance and prejudice, had pictured him in a very dark way as they used to consider him the enemy of Christianity. But after looking into the story of this man I found it to be an amazing and a miraculous one, and I came to the conclusion that he was never an enemy of Christianity, and must be called instead the saviour of humanity. In my opinion, if he was to be given control over the world today, he would solve our problems and secure the peace and happiness which the world is longing for.”

@@larcm3 It is duty every Muslims to convey the message they accept or not between them and God. I am the warner... May Allah guide them to the truth Ameen Ya Rabb "Son of God" Some Christians claim that Jesus is the Son of God. What does this actually mean? Surely God is far removed from having a physical and literal son. Humans have human children. Cats have kittens. What does it mean for God to have a child? Rather than being taken literally, we find the term "Son of God" is symbolically used in the earliest biblical languages for a "righteous person", and has been used for David, Solomon and Israel - not exclusively for Jesus: "...Israel is my firstborn son," (Exodus 4:22). In fact, anyone who is righteous is referred to as God's 'son' : "All who are led by God's Spirit are God's sons and daughters." (Romans 8:14)"It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. He is Perfect and Flawless! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, 'Be' and it is."Quran 19:35 "Father and Lord" In the same way, when the word 'Father' is used to refer to God it shouldn't be taken literally. Instead, it's a way of saying God is the creator, sustainer and supreme master of all. There are many verses for us to understand this symbolic meaning of the word 'Father', for example: "One God and Father of all." (Ephesians 4:6) Also, Jesus was sometimes called 'Lord' by the disciples. This term is used in the original languages of the Bible, for God as well as for people who are held in high esteem. For example, in the Greek New Testament, the term kyrios is used for both 'Lord' as well as to name the owner of the vineyard (Matthew 20:8), and the master who beat the disobedient servant (Luke 20.42-47). In other parts of the Bible, Jesus is even called a 'servant' of God by the disciples: "The God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus." (Acts 3:13) This clearly shows that when 'Lord' is used to refer to Jesus, it is a title of respect, not of divinity. Attempts are made to explain the complexity of the above issues of the nature of God and the nature of Jesus, which can be quite confusing or unsatisfying. However, the key point to ponder is: Why would God make it so hard to understand? How do these complicated teachings compare with the simple, clear and pure teachings of the concept of God in Islam? In Islam God is God, Jesus is Prophet, Holy Spirit is Angel Gabriel. No mystery no confusion required. Miraculous birth of Jesus Matthew mentioned Holy Spirit, Luke mentioned Angel Gabriel confirmed by the Holy Qur'an indeed Angel Gabriel. Angels and Jesus don't know the hour only God knows the hour, Clear Cut! Matthew 1:18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[a]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:26-27 The Birth of Jesus Foretold 26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. Qur’an 19:16-17 And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.then she used a barrier to hide herself from them. Then, We sent to her Our Spirit, (Jibra’īl) and he took before her the form of a perfect human being. Qur’an 5:110 As Allah said, "O Isa son of Maryam, (Jesus son of Mary) remember My favor upon you, and upon your (female) parent as I aided you with the Spirit of Holiness, Also called the Holy Spirit, i.e., the Angel Jibril) (so that) you speak to mankind in the cradle and in maturity; and as I taught you the Book, and (the) Wisdom and the Tawrah, (The Book revealed to Musa "Moses") and the Injil; (The Book revealed to Isa "Jesus") and as you create out of clay as the semblance of a bird, by My permission, so you blow into it, then it is a bird, by My permission; and you heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and as you bring the dead out, by My permission; and as I restrained the Seeds (Or: sons) of Israel) from you as you came to them with the supreme evidences; then the ones who disbelieved among them said, "Decidedly this is nothing except evident sorcery." Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Qur’an 31:34 Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. Note: Anyone and anything we can see isn't God. God at the Bible said: Exodus 33:20 I will not let you see my face, because no one can see me and stay alive. Qur’an 7:143 And when Musa (Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord spoke to him, he said: "O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You." Allah said: "You cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain if it stands still in its place then you shall see Me." So when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse to dust, and Musa (Moses) fell down unconscious. Then when he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers. Note: Jesus John 1:51 He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.” Revelation 22: 8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God! Qur’an 19:19 He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.” As we see Angels and Prophets are servant of God, not God themselves. Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. Matthew 21:11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” Qur’an 19:30 [Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. Qur’an 3:84 Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him." If you don't like don't read, might be the message can benefit others why I am here. My beloved Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said Convey from me even one Ayah.

Brother, help me become muslim and answer my questions. Thank you very much. 1- How come the word: “Tawheed” does not exist in yr quran? 2- How come quran uses the 3rd person pronoun 'He' in almost every time alla talks to people? 3- If the quran is written by alla then he must use the 1st pronoun and say 'I' and not 'He'. 4- How come quran elevated muhammad to the level of alla? for example, obey alla and his apostle...listen to alla and his apostle...respect alla and his apostle etc...? isn't obeying alla enough? why do we have to obey 'his apostle' in addition to obey alla? are they partners? unless your profit...oops I meant prophet, is making his own commandments without the approval of alla? thus quran is not the word of alla. 5- How come on 4 different occasions (some Islamic sources say 20 ayats were requested by umar) alla revealed 4 ayats that matched 100% the wishes of khalifa umar bin-alkhattab? is umar also a prophet? or maybe alla did not have the great ideas of umar when he prepared the preserved tablets of quran, so he added the 4 verses later, when umar asked for them. 6- How come alla did not add the accents 'fatha, dammeh, kasra, fathatayn, dammatayn, kasratayn, Hammzah, alef mad, shaddeh, dots (tanquitt) etc... when he downloaded yr quran with jibril? did not he realize, with his stupid brain, that muslims will be confused without these necessary accents/vowels so he made hajjaj ben-yusuf to do it by himself without any, earthly or heavenly, approval or revelation? 7- How come you say that prophets do not sin while muhammad asked and was granted forgiveness on his past/future sins? If he's sinless then he must not ask for forgiveness. 8- How come muhammad says: I don't know what will happen to me or to you but only... if alla will include me in his tremendous mercy? how come you follow a prophet who does not know his destiny? 9- How come alla in quran swears by the stars, the sun, the moon, the sky, the clouds, the winds, the trees, the sea, etc... 1) alla is not supposed to swear at all because he only says the absolute truth, so -how come he is swearing? 2) when someone swears that he's saying the truth, he swears by something extremely valuable/precious for him...swearing by the Earth, winds, sea, rain, sun, etc... is like I am swearing to you by my stapler, desk, computer, paper-clip, etc..., would yous believe me if I swear to you by such items? 10- How come alla promised in yr quran to preserve yr quran and surat ‘al-rajem’ is lost and surat ‘irdaa alkabeer’ was eaten by Dajen (a goat)? Couldn’t alla fulfill his promise and keep these two ayats? 11- How come aisha confirms that one third of sura al-ahzab was lost? 12- How come qutum does not know who the Holy Spirit is? 13- How come he did not know exactly how many persons were 'asshab alkahf'? If quran is the word of alla, then he must know the answers instead of embarrassing himself and qutum by guessing.At the end of the verse it says only alla knows. He does not know if he does then he would have told his favourite prophet. 14- How come qutum ordered you to kiss the black-stone (and rukn yamani) as he kissed it himself too, so did kalifa umar and ali. Isn't kissing a stone is like kissing a statue(idolatery)? 15- How come the black-stone is capable to absorb the sins of the muslims who kissed/padded it? isn't forgiveness an attribute of alla alone? doesn't allah refuse to share any of his attributes with anyone? This is shirk. 16- How come a shahid (muslim martyr) can forgive the sins of 70 people of his own family? Isn't forgiveness an attribute of alla alone? This is shirk. 17- How come if I kill a lizard (Dhaber or Abu-breiss) from the first hit I get forty of my sins forgiven? isn't what qutum told you in his hadith? is a lizard-killing capable to forgive muslims sins when we kill it from 1st hit? obviously such abu-breiss is a partner with alla.-This is shirk. 18- How come muhammad, just before his death, cursed both the Jews and the Christians because they build their churches/synagogues on the graves of their prophets. Few years later, muslims built the ‘masjed alnabawi’ in Madina on the grave of Muhammad? 19- How come there is no commandment of circumcision in quran? 20- Can you provide any proof that muhamass got circumcised? I guess he exempted himself to avoid pain and staying without sex for at least 3 days? 21- How come there is no commandment of “eid al-adha” in quran? 22- How come the prayers are three times/day in quran but five times in hadith? 23- Where, in quran, it says that the adulterer and the adultress must be killed? 24- Where is the 2 ayats of breastfeeding adult men in quran? 1st aya was for five sucklings, the 2nd final was 10 sucklings? He man must feel full after each suckling. (not just a small suckling) 25- how come hajj details are not in quran? 26- He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is Knower of all things.Did alla forget the order of creation? the universe is 13.8B y old, Sun is 5B y, Earth is 4.5B y, life is 3.5b years. 27- When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: wilt Thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not. So Adam was already made for Earth. How did angels know about bloodshed and mischief? and how dare they question the allmighty alla (in anyway, alla was wrong as human shed lots of blood and the angels knew better than alla)? 28- Muslims, can you show me, in yr quran, one verse where alla declares, unequivocally, that the gospel has been corrupted? 29- How come when muhamad caught Ayesha following/spying on him, he did not first consul her, then admonish her in the bed, then hit her LIGHLY? IMMEDIATELY, he hit her with his fist on her chest causing her a sharp pain.

*The secular West’s double standards are glaringly evident from how they deal with “irrationality”. When this so-called irrationality is linked with religion it’s a problem. However, when it comes to things like “gender fluidity” it’s completely fine. Another example that can be mentioned is how the “clairvoyant” Edgar Cayce was extremely popular during the early 20th-century.* And it’s the same story when it comes to aliens. The secular West, unable to fight its innate tendency to believe in the ghayb, proposes the likely existence of a non-human species that could communicate with our world - the same way Muslims believe in the jinn Of course, all of this is done in the name of their own religion: science. They even have their own priests in the form of astrobiologists, etc. This belief of theirs is of the same nature as ours. Even if they try and add some pseudo-empiricist spice: there may be tangible elements pointing towards the existence of aliens They fail to grasp how we, too, say there are “tangible elements” regarding the influences of the jinn within our world.*

Astaghfirullah Al Azeem. This interview, with its steel-manning penchance and deep rhetorical quips from our prophet's saw seerah and surahs, gave me the chills even though I sleep cosily half a worlds away and speak neither arabic nor contain arabic blood within. MBS has embraced dunya and looks to have certainly believed that what he's doing is for the good of the muslim brotherhood. Even Thanos feels justified. The ending is a proud moment, outside looking in, and may Allah swt give the noble ones the strength, health and wealth to fight in his cause through goodness and righteousness.

MashaAllah what a heart touching interview by brother Sami Hamdi. Bin Salman also reduced Taraweeh to 10 rakaat from 20 rakaat. And imams now recite at a fast pace. This year on 27th of Ramadan, I reached Haram after asr but the gates were closed due to crowd. I was happy to pray outside thinking Shaykh Juhany sounds even more beautiful from the minerats of Haram. By Allah, from where I stood, the sounds from minerats did not reach me. It has been reduced so much. Shaykh Shuraim did the right thing by resigning from Haram, even though our hearts bleed for not being able to listen to him. This Bin Salman may bring all the entertainers of the world, but in our heart of hearts, the Shuraims and the Juhanys shall always be our hero and our love.

I grew up in Saudi Arabia and honestly, I dont recognise the stifling religious restrictions you talk about. I was never forced to cover my face, and I really appreciated the swift, strict actions of the law in keeping women like me safe. I was able to go out alone or with other girlfriends late at night knowing that I would not come to any danger -- while the Saudi men flirted like there was no tomorrow, not one of them ever dared to take it any further. I could get in a cab at 2AM and get home safe and sound. Of course I knew that there were plenty of girls and boys who were getting up to no good; shaytan is everywhere after all. But it was easy to be a good practising Muslim in a country where the entertainment was clean, where the environment was clean, where the billboards were clean, and where the adhan could be heard at all hours of the day from any part of any city. I long for an environment like that now that I am a mother, and my kids are growing up surrounded by every kind of filth imaginable. I so wish Saudi had stayed the way it was, I would happily raise my kids there if that were the case.

@@LMNM800 Stifling is a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact. Your opinion being different from mine doesn't make my opinion an untruth. I absolutely loved my childhood in saudi. As for the difference between private and public life, in Islam the state is supposed to regulate public life according to the teachings of Islam but it does not have the right to barge into people's homes and regulate their private lives. Whatever sharia laws they're breaking in their homes only become a crime if they take their actions into the public sphere. People in saudi who drink privately are sinning, and God will judge them, but when they get caught outside with the booze they're also breaking the law, and the judiciary will judge them.

@@puyahtakaful4575For all of those who think it is ideal if Muslim women are not financially dependent on men: Would it be ideal if Muslim men were not sexually dependent on their women? For example would it be ideal if men could purchase (at low cost) harems of docile life-like forever-young sex robots? How would you respond to Muslim men who justified this by saying such robots are necessary to give men true independence, such that they are not forced to stay in relationships with women who are rude, jealous, controlling, manipulative, fat, old, or ugly? How would you respond to Muslim men who said that Muslim women need to "step up their game" such that men choose to be with them instead of a robot that is more friendly, beautiful, young, and thin? The cop out answer is to say sex robots are haram, but there are other conceivable halal alternatives that would do the same thing: flood men with cheap alternatives. Obviously such alternatives would weaken and ultimately destroy marriage because it takes away the dependence that men have on women for sex. But that is literally what giving women financial independence does; it makes them independent from men. And that's why no society or religion ever did give women that independence, except for our current dystopia. .

I don't know how I got here, but I am super impressed by Sami Hamdi. His knowledge, wisdom, verbal fluency and enthusiasm is inspiring. I do see that in the West, a lot of non religious people can get lost in finding meaning in life and get lonely. They see that Islam is growing and brings a much stronger social bond through religion, family, brotherhood. This is also what you see in many Latino spheres with christianity. It's exactly these family oriented people that create - the biggest families - the most new born. I think this is how religion will survive and thrive. Muslims just get more kids than the rest. When people see that this is the 'winning' religion, I think a lot of non religious people may start to consider. I got shocked when I heard someone say that Islam will simply 'outbreed' everyone else in Europe, and statistics are indeed on his side.

*Let's offer a course on Western/liberal marriage:* *_Lesson #1: Don't ever argue with your wife because that is emotional abuse, and she will call the police and accuse you of hurting her. Police don't need any evidence to arrest you, so enjoy your stay in prison._* Lesson #2: Don't you ever dare to deny your wife having sex with others. You don't own her. If you're a real man, you'll help her find a boyfriend or two and let them use your bed while you sleep on the couch. *Lesson #3: Be fair to each other, but remember, she can accuse you of abuse at any time and destroy your life.* _Lesson #4. Your wife is tilth for all men (and women). They will use her as they, please. Enjoy your married celibacy._ Lesson #5: If your spouse wants to change "their" gender, don't argue. Just be happy for "them," you transphobe. *_Lesson #6: Want a divorce? Don't want a divorce? Doesn't matter. She can leave you for any reason or no reason at all. She gets to take at least half your wealth and custody of your children, and you pay all her legal fees. She might even end up living with her boyfriends in the house you bought with your kids._*

Really does it ache? Why don't you ache for your own country ? The Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz AlSaud is a leader you wish that you had. We are proud of our wonderful country since its establishment in 1744 it was truly the only Arab Muslim country that was unified by the swords of its own people to protect the legacy of Islam. You must remember that our leaders were not given governance by ottoman or British never were we a vassal to anyone there rule was given by the people of Arabia and the legitimacy they hold to protect Islam
