It’ll actually do 125 before the limiter is hit. They’re not hard to work on, just needs different tools. Throw a tune on it and see how much that old thing will surprise you. The AWM motor in those is the same as the Audis, just de tuned. For the low total of $800 you can slam a K04 into it and it turns into a bully. I agree about the 4 link suspension, it’s mind numbing and over complicated as hell for no reason. Damn is it stable and responsive at high speeds though. These cars scream practicality and are all around decent. So long as you don’t give a rats ass about the nay sayers and band wagon haters. Mine is sitting at 230k miles and has no body rust and just recently broke its cam tensioner. 500 to fix it in my garage and it’s back on the road turning heads and surprising cops when they have pulled me over for going over the speed limit. Keep the right oil changed in it, and VW parts on it during repairs and they will reward you.
