America hasn't gone backwards because America never completed the move FORWARD. trump isn't a cause, trump isn't even a symptom. trump is the logical result of the continued racism that permeates every system IN this country, AND, trump is backlash against the audacity of the American people choosing to elect a Black president not once, but TWICE.

If you might notice that history's great speakers didn't have to read from a teleprompter or didn't give speeches (especially eulogies) in a phony black preacher tone of voice. Saying Obama is a good speaker is setting a very low bar. He doesn't speak. He reads. And the speeches are written for him based on not words from anyone's heart but from the results of focus groups. He is just reading what the focus groups tell his writers people want to hear. When Obama speaks naturally and doesn't read, he sounds like an elitist Harvard college professor scolding his class. He talks down to people. Those speeches are irritating and border on being insulting. Obama's 'eulogy' was nothing more than a hateful partisan political speech given in a phony black preacher tone of voice. John Lewis would have been insulted and deserved better than have his memorial used as an opportunity to take some cheap shots at political opponents. Joe Biden gave better eulogies for his racist friends that were former KKK members.

You can always tell when there’s no battle to win because you people want to compare trump to President Obama!! President Obama thought long term in everything he did for blacks and whites!! He did more for the poor than the rich and that’s where the real issues lie with trump and the gop they want the money back in their pockets!! So step off and stop using my President’s name in vein until my next president is elected Biden 2021!!!!

I am struggling with pancreatitis all my life now to the point of inability to eat at all without enzymes which barely work and have excruciating pain. I am hoping every day to heal and not become cancerous which is all but inevitable. I can't imagine the strength of this man who I had already known and admired as one of the bravest and most honorable to ever grace this planet to continue to rise despite the tremendous pain and disability he must have felt. I hope I can meet my fate with that much grace and continue to do good works while i am still here. Hero seems not enough word to describe him in my eyes.

Did you say one of finesst you've known. Wow ...so we know people by watching them on TV. Lol... I'd rather judge by his policies. Had 7 million more people on welfare, bypassed Congress and used judges to pass his agenda, highest unemployment rate for all people especially for black America, historic manufacturing job losses, give immunity to his attorney general and engaged in the sales of guns , rocket launchers to cartels by the thousand and those guns killed innocent Americans, advised his head of IRS to illegally DOX millions of conservatives attacking them through federal punishments just for donated to campaign besides his, covered up four lying Hillary and Benghazi... illegally spied on US citizen Donald Trump before he was president. I have found that an informed independent opinion is much wiser than playing follow the leader.

@@haydensmith6692 Based on the content of your post, you have spent some time (perhaps too much) in the sunken place of right wing propaganda. If that is the case, rational thought and facts hold little value. No matter, I will only address the point of black unemployment. In addition, provide source material. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I believe you meant to say President Obama inherited historically high unemployment for black Americans. Perhaps you are too young to remember the Great Recession? In 2009 the unemployment rate for black Americans was at 12.7% and rising to a high of 16.8% in 2010. When he left office the rate was 7.5%. Here is the source material with pictures for easy consumption data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet. Unfortunately my references are not from the Gateway Pundit, Qmaps.org, Brietbart or some other Alt Right (White Supremacist) publication.

So great to hear that wonderful deep resonating voice. Obama and Michele were the most dignified President and First Lady who lived in the White House in my memory and I was born just after WW2. Obama was and is admired around the world. He and Michele did the Americans proud and the world admired America then. Unlike now where we all shake our heads in disbelief or daily find something to laugh at in the current President. How low has America fallen since the days of the Obamas.

I was a kid but i do remember bloody Sunday i remember the horrible images i saw on tv. The beatings of protesters, being bit by dogs n tromped by horses with cops on them, Lord i do remember.

So was horrified as I saw my Father she'd years in my face for the first time in my life. They had murdered MLK and his sobs were bitter. I cried when our first colored President came..i wept when he LEFT. My father and his mother and her mother being slaves. Still we cry as so any do today as John leaves us to go home. I am in prayer for all the poor and people of color. The undereducated. For all who will come together . if we fail to march and burn and demand a fairness in the law..we have failed all who have come before us. May God be with us all in this fight.

I also remember bloody Sunday. I was eight years old and it was very disturbing to watch. My grandmother saw me crying and this is what she said to me."Baby this is what happens when people hate. Don't ever have hate in your heart against anyone. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The golden rule. I still live by that rule. God help us all!
