Having been born in Kenya and raised in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, I remember, when President Kennedy sent his FIRST volunteers of the Peace Corps to Tanzania--So how befitting for the first African American President to visit Dar-es-Salaam again. I only wished, i had been there to witness this memorable historical visit! UHURU NA MOJA

Damn that man has some feng shui!! Greats everyone like old friends he hasn't seen in a long time. And what great personality and grace Africans portrays at such moments. Really proud to be African, and I can't wait to go there in just 2 days. Excited to see how small countries, like Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi, unknown for many, are slowly but surely progressing!! It will take time, but Obama's interest in that continent predicts only good in the future, in my opinion! :XD

Every thing in this world is about networking and good rapport with others. A warm and relaxed atmospehere encourages potential investors to a country. Issue is how prepared are our people to take advantage of good vibe between TZ and US in terms of trade and investments? About transforming friendship into wealth and prosperity? Nyerere had some US presidents for friends too eg Kennedy and Carter; Sell outs who betray our resources are own leaders; who go for personal interests over nation's.

We Africans we need development in many areas as investors are finding better investment environment, but a question goes to the sleeping African Leaders who may need some capacities in responding to the new era, and to think twice before they sit on their seats to give way to progress than to always depend on the DONORS in most of their plans

I read that part of Obama's objective of visiting African nations to compete with the Chinese. China has quite a visible presence in Tanzania, when I went to Singida last year I was shocked to see Chinese workers. I later found out that the Chinese were building roads. It was part of a deal= in return for working the mines the Chinese worked on infrastructure.

Hamisi, Obama is currently the most important man in the world right now, and deserved the attention he got from Tanzanians.Remember, this trip cost the USA a staggering 100 million dollars which only underscores it's importance. Let's think as global citizens and see how much we'll benefit from this instead of seeking silly attention by downplaying such an important visit other countries would die to have.
