I'm Malay... I had notice the oppression for a long time now but I just kept it to myself because I know most malays would disagree with me. I just don't think we should make privileges for Bumiputeras and Malays only. But we should actually make the privilege for Malaysian citizens. I just don't think it's fair that we didn't get to chose what race we were born in, what religion we were raised in, or where we are going to be born. They never chose to live in Malaysia, their ancestors did. With the same ideals as our Malay ancestors. They want a better life for their children. And there's nothing wrong with that! We have 195 countries on earth with unrecorded amounts of race, religions and ethic backgrounds. When white people comes to our country. The very race that had killed our ancestors. The very race that oppressed us. We want to take pictures with them. We think they're hot. We'd think they're better than us. We'd buy them free drinks and openly try to start conversation with them. Deny all you want but that's the reality of our society. But when it comes to Chinese and Indian citizens, we oppress them unfairly. We don't treat them as they're part of our society but why??? We bow down to the successors that murdered our ancestors. But we can't walk on the same level as the minorities that their ancestors laid their lives for a foreign land that never had treated them well. I want the Malay society to understand, these people aren't here to take over the society. They're here to make a living to provide for their families. Just like us, and also like us, they're also citizens. They deserve better than the way our society and government treats them. Please throw away your ego. If you guys don't think you'd do well at all without the privilege then just like the line of Tony Stark to Peter Parker "If you're nothing without it, then maybe you shouldn't have it" Which means if you're nothing special without something, maybe you don't deserve to have it at all.

Notice how the Malays in the background were not applauding when the President talked about how Malaysia will not succeed if the non Muslims are discriminated against. For all their talk about their Prophet and the tolerance/equality taught by their religion, I am yet to encounter one Islamic country that treats its minority races as equals. What a good point you made here, you might be right about managing smaller population would do a country any good but lets be fair, there's more to talk about the good that we have here in Malaysia in a rather critical way. But before that, you've been pointing out your arguments without any concrete proof or facts but a mere rhetorical and emotional statements. You gotta improve on that dude xD, and also I want to avoid myself from calling you racist but your attitude shows very clearly that you are one. Failure in management because this country is ran by the Malays? Seriously? Affirmative policies such as the NEP, MARA, etc have contributed to the rise of the Malay household monthly income since 1970 and has shown a significant growth of other ethnics' household income as well. In fact, the ethnic Chinese still hold the highest household income each year (Source: Economic Planning Unit), equitable policies and good management are the keys towards crediting the Malays in managing this country. A well-managed and deftly-administered nation resulted in an economically prosperous economy and citizenry. This is one measure of the success of the Malays as political and administrative leaders. But undeniably, the other ethnics have contributed to the economic prosperity and have gained much of the economic fraction through other sectors like business and services as well. Malaysia has shifted its economy from the reliant of natural resources (O&G) towards industrial manufacturing since 90s and this tradition continues under PM Najib's administration and has been a leading example to other oil producing country like Saudi Arabia to survive in the midst of global economic uncertainty. In case you don't know, Malaysia's GDP has been growing at a faster pace of 6.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2017 compared to 4.3 percent in the same quarter last year and I don't pulled this out of thin air as you did, go look at the Bank Negara's report. Even the IMF, ADB, and other global agencies validate Malaysia's economic performance after couple of years of assessment on Malaysia's economy and Malaysia is on the right track in its economic performance. The GNI per capita reported by the World Bank has came out with a future projection that Malaysia will exceed the high income threshold within 2-5 years. Here is the link that you can refer to, and be fair to yourself too. Goodluck: openknowledge.worldbank.org/bitstream/handle/10986/28990/MalaysiaEconomicMonitor2017.pdf?sequence=6&isAllowed=y

The world can never be equal. Everyone is born unique and special, having different beliefs and views about life, about equality. As a child, we might want to be equal to an adult, making our own decisions without the need of parents' permissions(at least that is what we used to think). Yet is that logical to give children that so called "equality"? No! Equality can never be achieved, thus should not be pursued. What we actually need is a fulcrum for our society to achieve a balanced state where we can be closest to fairness. Let us look back to my analogy: the child should be given a suitable amount of freedom with a pinch of restriction. Although his/her freedom is not equal to the freedom of an adult, it is a balanced and logical treatment. However, my analogy is too vague to be used as a reference. These are just the thoughts in my head, I hope I am not offending anyone...

In Malaysia, 90% of quota for matriculation enrolment to public universities are reserved for the majority, while high scoring students needs to go through Higher School Certification Exams (STPM) which is one of the toughest exams in the world to get a chance to public universities. There is no fairness in the education policy of Malaysia, as it is heavily politicised with race that is quota driven ala apartheid

As someone who go through STPM. I can assure you it's hard. We speedrunning the subject we learn without full understanding. Heck, sometimes even when you study as hard as you can, it still comes down to luck through the exam questions you get. History subject for example, instead of challenging the students of their knowledge on this subject in a holistic manner, it just asks you limited number of question for essay. If your luck is good, the question can be easy but sometimes it straight up asking questions that we barely learn throughout our time in the school. Heck, even the reference book don't touch those topics in detail. Thank god I got relatively good result thanks to all the semester result being combined.

Not that I agree with the bumi policies. But this is a speech coming from a person who is a die hard supporter of Affirmative Actions in America 🤣🤣🤣🤣. He is a die hard supporter of putting unqualified Black people into universities. And the Malays here that got to the top university, are not as qualified as the Chinese. But they worked their a** off and they often graduated, very few got expelled. In America, Black people are expelled from top universities all the time. Because they are not qualified to begin with and they are not willing to put in the extra hard work that the Malays in Malaysia did to get the degree. I have seen it with my own eyes. Plus, prior to becoming president, he filed a lawsuit against Citibank for refusing to provide loans to poor African American communities (Which is justifiable action from Citibank, who would want to lend money to someone who will never be able to pay it back). He won the lawsuit and Citibank was forced to lend to the poor black community in that district. It turns out all of them 200 (If i am not mistaken) people would default on that loan. The 2008 sub prime mortgage lending was largely due to politicians like him who consistently forced banks to lend to poor African American people (Supposedly racist to not lend to them). And its ironic how once he became president he demonized the banks and acted like a hero punishing the banks, when he was one of the people contributing towards banks bad debt. Barrack Obama is a freaking scam, and America is a lot more racist than Malaysia ever is if you really take the time to understand their system. Asians and White people are discriminated a lot, and its ironic how the president of America wants to give lecture about oppression when he was the biggest supporter of such system. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Omg dont be so naive. Barack Obama is the biggest supporter of Affirmative Actions (AA). AA is the US version of Bumiputra policy. They put soooo many unqualified black people in universities to the expense of Whites and Asian Americans. Read about Asian American Harvard Lawsuit. In all the top universities of America they all have racial quotas. In big tech companies like google, Amazon, etc. Politicians are demonizing them for not hiring unqualified black people. As a result they are forced to put in quotas for blacks. Back in the 90s a lawyer and district representative under the name of Barack Obama sued Citibank for refusing to lend to poor black people in his constituencies. He won the law suit, and Citibabk was forced to lend to over 200 poor people in that community. Later all of them defaulted on that loan because they cant repay back the loan and they declared bankruptcies. The 2008 subprime mortgage crisis was due to liberal politicians like him. They are the ones causing bank bad debts and its ironic how once he became president he demoned these banks when he was part of the problems. He was the biggest reason why racial division is so pathetic these days. He was the one who encouraged anti police agenda and now crimes are out of control. The USA is far more racist than Malaysia especially during his time and its ironic how a US president wants to lecture us about racism. Obama is THE WORST US PRESIDENT IN HISTORY. Read and learn about US history. Nobody is ever as pathetic as he was. So dont come here and say stuff that you are ignorant about 😂😅 I have lived for over a decade in America I know what I am talking about. As a Chinese or Indians. You are not treated equally in America. Its a fallacy to believe that. Asians are the most discriminated race and Blacks are the most ungrateful, privileged people in America.

What Obama said is true and valid. The present day goverment is doing just that, with quotes like "Apa lagi Cina mau?", "You can't expect the government to do more for the Chinese, yet continue to vote DAP", "Kaum pendatang". Did you know that Lee Kuan Yew was consulted by numerous heads of state all over the world? Presidents of USA, China, and many other leaders valued his advice. The same can't be said of any of the Malaysian PM. The Westerners even praised LKY as a leader who could do so much more good to the world and lament that it is a waste that he belonged to tiny Singapore. Whoever that lament that oh, Malaysia is larger geographically and so much more diverse than Singapore, hence harder to manage so much so that even LKY could never bring any better changes if he would have been our leader instead, I tell this will glee: YOU are outright WRONG! My point of view is not treason. But I strongly believe that if Malaysia is open minded enough to be led by members of the non Muslim minority, the country would be in a much prosperous, peaceful condition. Malaysia would have become a First World Nation by infrastructure and mentality.
@secrets.2952 жыл бұрын
What Obama said was hypocrisy at its finest. Obama is the biggest supporter of Affirmative Actions. Which is a far worse policy than the NEP. If you are a Chinese in America you will be the most discriminated race in the country. Read the Harvard Lawsuit. Barrack Obama filed a lawsuit against several large banks in California for refusing to lend to poor Black majority neighborhood back in the early 00s. As a result of that law suit Banks have to lend to poor Black neighborhood. After a few years 100% of the people they lend to in poor black neighborhood defaulted on the loan, because they couldnt afford it at the first place. People like Barack Obama led to the US 2008 housing bubble. But he was so smart to deflect the blame and yet again he blame the bank for taking too much risk and lending to risky people, when it was politicians like him that forces banks to engage in risky lending. Barack Obama is a hypocrite. He is the last person that should talk about race.

Everything begins with a single step. Abolishment of slavery took more than 200 years in the USA, and the civil rights movement that took Martin Luther King's life and almost Rosa Parks's life made America what it is today, insofar that Obama was able to stand before so many as the first American president of African descent. It was pitiful whatever happened to Karpal, Anwar, Tian Chua, Teresa, and many, many more. But that fact that terrible things happened to them, like how it had had happened to those who fought against slavery, means we're on the right path. When Malaysia becomes that great nation in that years to come (even if it'd take 100 years or 200 years), those politicians will forever be immortalised and revered, just like George Washington, even though he was hated for the war against his own people (he was British), or Abraham Lincoln (he was hated for the 13th amendment). Malaysia still has a long way to go, and if the people's mentality isn't going to move forward, then don't complain that our country is not moving as the same pace as our mind set. There are still some ppl that cannot accept the fact that all Chinese, Indians and Malays are MALAYSIANS and we love our country. If we criticize other ppl not bc of their bad attitude or behavior, but bc of their ethic and their color and background then it's really not fair. U guys say that all Chinese are filthy rich and don't deserve any help from the government but think logically about that lah, I wish all Chinese was rich, but in the reality it's not. The solution to this problem would be so much easier if all Chinese were rich and all Malays were poor, but thats not true and it's not right to judge a person by the majority. Yes it's true that there are rich Chinese but not all Chinese are rich ok-_- just like not all Malays are poor, and think of the reason why rich ppl are rich, they work hard for it and sacrificed smthg for that. We should educate our future generation with the correct mindset if we dont want them to continue with our footsteps and move on to lead a better life. It would be so much better if the leaders would recognize this help those who are really in need regardless of their color and ethnicity, to reach out to Malaysians, not just to the majority, because the minority are also a part of this country and we share the same burden as every Malaysian do.

Regarding to your comment, I honestly have never heard anyone ever said "go back to your own country". What I'm trying to say here is that media have always manipulate people especially to the youngster. Yes, there is once a newspaper came out about this issue but its to imply to one of the non-malays saying "I don't like Malaysia, Malaysia sucks!" So the malay person got angry (I mean who doesn't?) He/she without thinking twice said that "if you don't like your country so much, why not go back to your own country?" However, I have no issue with that though I agree that it is offensive and very disrespectful of saying it. The reason I don't make it as a big deal is that who is being rude first? Think about it. Hope this helps! Have a nice day :)

Would Obama contest the presidency if :- 1) He only speaks the Kenyan language and doesn't speak excellent English even though he is an American citizen? 2) Is not a Christian Even with the above points, there is no way he would be considered as a candidate. The Chinese in Malaysia generally group within themselves and talks/practise Chinese language and culture despite being here for generations. They are just here to make more and more money. They have no desire to integrate with the local Malays as proven by the last General election. PAS and PKR are merely their tools for their political survival.

Hi, my name is Alyson and I'm a Chinese(really duh). I think u don't really understand us, yes I would agree that there are Chinese ppl that just wants to make more and more money, but does that only include Chinese? Who in this society doesn't want to make money? I'm not here to blame anyone or criticize you, its just that we shouldn't judge ppl because of what color or background or ethnic we are in, if the person's character is bad,it shouldn't be because he is a Malay/Chinese/Indian, it should be bc of his own attitude. We should celebrate our similarities, not pick on each other's differences just because we were born in a different background. If we really loved our country,we should unite and look past these things, or else we would b the ones that are holding back our country's development. And the reality is that, not all Chinese are rich and not all Malays are poor. It didnt even use to be like that before independent and most certainly not now after all the government policies that are helping bumiputeras in the rural areas. Once again I would like to say that I'm not judging anyone and I just want to let ppl know that not everything seems to be like what u heard from other ppls mouth.

1. How did you jump from the topic of Obama's candidacy to mentioning the Chinese? 2. That's a stereotypical view. Tell me, have you even go beyond the step of making friends with one who is of different race, before simply accusing another like a fool? 3. And you left out the Indians in the matter, just goes to show that you're intentionally bashing the Chinese. 4. If singing the Negaraku, learning the Malay language in education and business for a quarter of their lives isn't called integration, then what is? 5. This country is founded together with the efforts of the 3 races, this country rightfully belongs to anyone else, regardless of religion or democratic views, as both are basic human rights. 6. I'm human as much as you are, so why the hostility?
@fufoo9310 жыл бұрын
I feel your first argument is taken out of context. In America, the predominant language is indeed English, so obviously a person who does not speak the predominant language will never be considered for presidency. This is different in Malaysia, where there is no predominant language that stands out. Malaysia, being a unique case due to it's diversity in race and culture, has Malay, English and Chinese being spoken in equal amounts. As it is difficult for any person to master all 3, I believe that as long as a person is competent in Malay (being our national language), he or she is a viable candidate for leadership in our country. On religion, although it is true that America and its government have always been associated to Christianity, we live in revolutionary times. As the civilised world slowly moves towards a more progressive outlook on society, America celebrates its first black President, Belgium elects an openly gay man to lead their nation and the leader of the European Union is in fact a woman. I believe it is only a matter of time before America elects its first non-Christian president. That being said, I realise it is difficult for Malaysians - who are still deep rooted in conservative traditions - to edge towards a more progressive stance. But as Obama said, we need to be courageous and begin to stop marginalising 'minorities'. And this mindset NEEDS TO START WITH OUR GOVERNMENT. Our government is blatantly hostile to any person that threatens their sovereignty and their religion, which shows how infantile our leaders are. They need to accept that this is part of democracy. Change begins from the bottom, but often enough the top needs to show the bottom how its done. I really hope Najib takes the President's advice to heart, because if our government continues it's oppressive and hostile demeanour towards 'minorities' (which are barely minorities at all), I see little hope for the future of Malaysia.

"Face some hard facts and you could have an incredible life." I agree with Mr Barack Obama. But the things need to change is the system not the constitution. The constitution are for protect the Malays and Bumiputra. Some fact people always deny is, although Malays and Bumiputra received those privilege does they get to survive in the future? The answer no. Malays and Bumiputra gets to enter local university, local scholarship, but that doesn't guarantee they get a better job in the future. Privilege is to help them for a moment not for forever. For Malays or Bumiputra who works in private sector, does their privilege gave them the opportunity to be in high position? The answer is no. People always state Malay are lazy, Malay are stupid and why they able to go to university, Malay is the only racist people in Malaysia and etc. I admit my race is racist but can you admit and face some hard facts that your races is not and never discriminate Malays and Bumiputra ever? The difference with Malays and the other races is, they directly being racist but other races indirectly being racist which mean one never knows until they get exposed. The mindset of Malaysian are totally different from Canada. How Canada can appoint different races and religion as the minister or a part of parliament? It's because even they're different, their mindset is same. To help their country and peoples, together be successful. However it's different with Malaysia's politics. Each races has their own agenda. To protect their own people/races. The things that need to change is the mindset and the system to be able to provide equality on all races. Last but not least, Malay people should wake up. They should start to change their attitude and start to workout on themselves to be the better race, successful race in the future. Malays and Bumiputra can't just simply rely on the help of government to get what they want, instead start to work on themselves to get rid of those prejudice title given to them. Until when we wanted to sleep and watch other races being success? Although some Malays state "World means nothing, we should works for our Afterlife by doing good deeds etc." Even Prophet Muhamad S.A.W who devoted himself to Allah, work hard on himself and the country. Logically speaking, if Prophet Muhamad really focus on LifeAfter, he shouldn't try to build a nation and successful country right? Thus, Malay should change their mindset and attitude for the better future of them and the country. And please Malay, stop using the term "Pendatang" towards Chinese and Indians. The term was used in the old days in British era when they brought in Chinese and Indian, when we are not unite yet. Now things change, stop denying these people's sacrifices and contribution. They've done enough. All races in Malaysia has done their part in different ways so stop using the term.

As long is there's a special privilege for the majority, the minorities will adapt an internal system to only support their own people because since we don't get those privileges, we got to do our best to help our people. Unfortunately that involves excluding the majorities, hence why a malay person cannot be promoted easily in a non-malay company because you are born with privilege while we need to create and preserve our people. That do eventually means being passively racist but then how are our community supposed to survive?. We are not asking for equal outcome but at least equal opportunities.
@nerdyy2 жыл бұрын
@@yuvan6499 Again, the things that need to change are the system and mindset, not the constitution. The constitution is just there to state what the things are we need to follow and what aren't. How do we apply it? It is up to the government to implement the systems.Not all Malay people have these so-called privileges. We are still poor and can't even compete with the Indians and Chinese people in Malaysia. We Malays are fortunate only because our races help each other; whenever we hear that a Malay is having problems, for example, the Malays will come and assist.I speak based on my experiences and observations. Even though we don't have money, we still try our best to build up our own races. And that's what the government is trying to do, to lift up the races that seem unintelligent in the eyes of them. But the consequences of focusing on one race are that the others may be neglected. That's why it's hard to provide the same opportunities for all or give the opportunities only to those who deserve them. Imagine it like this: There are two groups of people who demand the same opportunities, called "stupid" and "clever." If we give the rights to the clever solely without limiting it, the stupid will demand their rights and state that they were treated badly. If we give full opportunities to stupid people and neglect the clever, the clever will then ask for their rights and say the same things, they were treated badly. Thus, the government needs to be clever about how to distribute all these opportunities so that they are balanced and fair. To make equality happen 100% is impossible because there will always be percentage of inequalities that happen as well. Thus, it's the government that needs to be smart on how to tackle this problem. I'm not saying this because I support the government's type of rule. I just look at it on both sides. I do admit the systems need to be changed, but it's easy to say as we don't look at the consequences. To execute it? Maybe we can wait till all the old people in "that" room have died, then we can proceed to make changes. About the racists, the reason for that is not valid. Here, in Seri Kembangan, there's factory that didn't want to take Indians as their workers because the employer said they're "bad." This is the place where my sister worked for a while before she resigned. You cannot use that reason to justify your racism. I didn't mean racist in the workplace, I mean racist in broad view. Being racist is a decision, not a choice. ... As a Malay myself, since young until I'm adult, I never get those bantuan zakat or scholarships, although my results are good, etc. I even got into university because of my good examination results, but I still didn't get to study the course that I applied for in the university. I just follow the flow. That is why I do not believe the Malay is given special treatment; or were given the special treatment but only in some circumstances. I only think the so-called privileges for Malay are meant for the "selected", not me or my friends who face the same issues.
@yuvan64992 жыл бұрын
@@nerdyy Either you come from a privileged place or that you can't see what's happening. I agree that the constitution is not the real issue here but the way it was used to oppress the minorities is the real issue. Hence, the mindset and system like you've said and these are determined by the government whom are using it to play the race card to gain votes since 'win the majority, win the election'. There has been an extensive research on these and the fact that many Malays (not saying all) who are poor and unable to compete exist due to their own mentality. Let's be honest for real, how many times have you seen or heard that malays out there prefer to stay in kampungs and not take the risk to come to the cities to make a living?, how many malays out there are adopting family planning like the Indians and Chinese who only raise kids knowing they can provide the best?. How many Malays avoid accountabilities and responsibilities by saying that 'dah rezeki aku ni je' or 'kalau ada rezeki, insyallah boleh'?. The fact that I've known is that most of the Malays are not ambitious people because they're so concentrated on akhirat that their current lifestyle only require them to be self-sufficient. My question is this, why not give equal opportunities to the 'stupid' and 'clever'?. May the best talent triumph. Which is why we are losing good talents in Malaysia since they're migrating given the opportunity because they were not grown feeling indebted to the mother country since the country has done nothing but oppressed them. ''To make equality happen 100% is impossible because there will always be percentage of inequalities that happen as well.'' This statement is extremely false, it is possible to make 100% equality, the government has already divided citizens/households based on earnings. You know the B30, B40 and etc groups, why not provide equal government university participation rate for these lower income citizens/households regardless of race or religions. Solely based on their marks and merits. Equality is not about everything being done equally, that's a western concept but it's about doing respective roles equally. So, a higher earning household and a lower earning household have different roles to play in governing a country. How is being racist not a choice? If I'm Malay and choose to only hire my fellow Malays, isn't that a choice and decision?. The definition of 'Choice' an act of choosing between two or more possibilities so If I had an option to to hire 3 races and I chosen only 1, that's a choice but obviously I'm not supporting it, in fact I'm against that systematic racism as well but when the minorities do that, more than to oppress the majority, the reason is to preserve and bring up the minorities. Question is, did you not want the zakat and scholarships from the beginning or have you applied for it and failed to get it because that's why I said you might be privileged. The fact that you were given the opportunity to get into government university where the total fees is 3 to 5 times lower than private colleges/universities is called special treatment because there are many non-Bumis who gotten better examination results than you didn't get such opportunity, having to take such a huge loan to finance their studies and then a huge chunk of their salary goes into paying these hefty loan. Fact is, talents and merits means nothing in this country. From your very own story Maam, you have received special treatment.
@nerdyy2 жыл бұрын
@@yuvan6499 I'm not from a privileged family. The mindset of people in Malaysia is that "if Malay people want something, they will get it as long as they are Malays." Even before I applied, be it for a scholarship or any type of help, I failed because they stated your family has a good income despite giving them the paycheck after deducting the taxes. Do Malay people pay taxes?Yes, we pay, yet some of us still do not get any scholarships when we state that we didn't have enough money to pursue studies. I understand, maybe because I need to compete with other people's results as well, so I don't mind. I'm here to say that just because you're Malay doesn't mean you get through everything. I'm not from the kampungs; I was born and raised in the cities. "How many Malays?" It's up to them how they want to live their life. If they want to have 10 kids, it's up to them. I can't judge them. If they are caught neglecting that child's rights, then it's up to the authorities to punish them. Family planning, etc., needs to be taught to these people. How? By receiving education through institutions, technologies, etc. People always think that only by going to the cities, you have the chance to develop yourself. My mom's family who decided to live in kampungs is not just sleeping, laying around, playing layang-layang in the evening, lepak kedai kopi, they've got careers and work there. The industry isn't just for the cities; it's also being built in kampungs. My definition of equality is not solely based on Western culture; rather, it is based on my own thoughts and words.We are not meant to be perfect. Even if you try to be perfect, you will still have some imperfect things happen. Look at both sides. If equality could be achieved at 100%, Latinas, Blacks, and Mexicans in the United States would have no difficulty enrolling in any sector, and perfection could also be attained.Your question, "Why can't we provide equal opportunities for all?" Ask the government. But since you ask me, my question is in terms of what? Education? Yes, the systems need to be looked back at and provide opportunities for all. Not only that, the government also needs to change the mentality of Malaysians who think only by going to university that they're intellectuals. There are polytechnic, vocasional, and Kolej Komuniti too that can enhance students' skills. Economy? Maybe it's time for the government to look back and see whether there's a balance between races in participating in the economy and the taxes that are being applied to them. That's what I don't like about this argument. I got into university not because of my privileges, but because I got good results, yet people said, "It's indeed because of privileges." But other races tend to say, "The Malays are not clever, although they have got to be in universities." By this argument, can we say all Malays who graduated from local universities are stupid despite their good results? As if our privileges help us get good results. Privileges only logic to be used for people who receive poor SPM results but are still admitted to a local university. Is it fair for those clever people? No. I still remember having an argument with one of the Chinese girls on social media. She states, "I don't get to be in local universities. That's why I don't like privileges given to Malay people. I asked her, "Really? Shouldn't the UPU at least give you a place in other types of institutions? So you think Malay managed to get enrolled in a local university the first time they applied and get to study the course they wanted? " The thing I don't understand is that people only look at local universities, not polytechnics, vocational schools, or Kolej Komuniti. My older sister didn't get to enrol in a local university, so she went to Kolej Komuniti by walk-in to the office and asked the workers there "Can I apply to study here?". Can we still consider this a Malay privilege? I'm not going to lie, she was seen as a stupid person just because she graduated from Kolej Komuniti. I'm not siding with the government. I do agree with Barack Obama, who observes this country as being here for 2-3 days only. The thing that the government needs to change is the systems. In the old days, during the British era, Malay people were called lazy because they didn't want to work for the British. Because the Malay knew that if they worked for the British, they would simply take all of the resources and send them back to their home country.Thus, Malay people didn't get to participate in the economy, yet after seeing how Chinese and Indians have a good life by working under the British, as the British provided a good salary and how the British are hard to defeat, the Malay begged them for help. However, the British ignored it. Malay people didn't get the chance to enrol in an English school because the fees were too high, and they didn't have any money. Therefore, Malay students study at Pondok, and then, after graduating from Pondok, they become teachers or nationalists. Thus, in the old days, Malay people didn't get to participate in the economy or education. Then UiTM was created to provide Malays and Bumiputera with the opportunity to pursue higher education.In the old days, this UiTM was seen as a university that produced stupid people and stupid courses because of what? Using the Malay language, if they use the English language, then all the students are intellectuals. Now it's getting a lot of attention and people are starting to ask how they can attend this university. I'm not studying at this university. I don't know why I didn't get it, but I still get to study at local universities. This is the basis of the constitution. Everything the government did was to protect the rights of Malay and Bumiputera people that were taken during the British era. However, are the systems that were being applied still relevant nowadays? The answer is no. People started to divide themselves, accusing the Malays of being racist and only living until today due to the privileges they get. The privileges they get can only be used in the government sector and in education. Does this privilege help them get As in SPM or in university exams? Absolutely no. For the Malays, that was stupid, but they got to enrol in university. When they got to enrol in local universities, despite their SPM results being so bad, they managed to get a lot of As in university, which started to change their mentality. This is what we want. The stupid must be surrounded by the clever, and the only way to achieve that is through education. Would I agree that Chinese and Indians were oppress in Malaysia? Yes. To what extent? in education, in government sectors. One thing I observe about Malay people when they do business is that they apply their religion. That's a good thing. The Malays are not racing to be wealthy; they're racing to just have the feeling of being wealthy. Look at your surroundings. How many Malays were consistent in opening their shops or restaurants? There will be days when it is closed and days when it is open, as if they are not serious about their job.Why is that so? Because the Malays, when they get a lot of money/profit from their businesses, will use the money by going overseas, doing umrah, buying a lot of things, etc. That's why the Malays are different from the Chinese. The Chinese are consistent. They have their own goal and proceed to achieve it, although it brings stress to them. For Malays, they tend to say, "Why bother? Just focus on your happiness, sudahlah. No need to prove yourself too much. Do what you want, leave it if you are tired. " I'm not here to argue against Malay privileges. Indeed, Malays enjoy many benefits in the government sector and education, but the real question is whether these benefits are extended to all Malays and Bumiputeras.That's a question that only the government can answer because they're the ones who distribute the so-called Malay-Bumiputera privileges. I'm also not here to deny that some educational systems and government sectors did not provide equal opportunities to Chinese and Indians. I'm here to justify the mindset I've received from different races based on what I've read, heard, and observed. Racism does not affect only one race; it affects everyone who invests in it.My Prof from France, who lived in Malaysia for two years before (now she's in France), states that "under the Najib era, not much racism happened, but now there's a lot.I wonder where 1Malaysia has gone. " This argument is not to say Najib is a good leader whatsoever; it's just to prove the racism trend that happened in Malaysia. Suddenly, all Chinese and Indians are talking about Orang Asli. Did everyone care about Orang Asli before this? Is anyone aware that Malay people used to engage in a variety of activities in Kampung Orang Asli?Absolutely no. Why? Because we all lived harmoniously before, no one even bothered to post everything on social media to justify their actions. Now look what happened. Every single issue, just mention the race of Chinese, Indians, or Malays, put it into a headlines and it will be a hot topic to be discussed. Not only that, some people point to their beliefs as well. Just wanted to share with you. Although Idk if you'll read or not. When muslim managed to conquer Maghreb (North Africa) and Andalus (Spain), the muslim elect the Jews and Christian as the minister. That's how it supposed to be if the government really wanted to improve their country. And The muslim need to stand in between, not sided with anyone and listen to all sides of opinions. That's how I want Malaysia do. Elect those who have the talent, make a systems that was fair for all, leave the corruption and crimes from politics, then you'll succeed. Even though this all are just a history, but somehow its systems are relevant to be applied today's.

@@nerdyy I agree to most of your statements. The underlining message is that you've acknowledge that there's discrimination against the minorities when it comes to education and government sectors and in my defense is that everything starts from education. Education is a persons gateway to their respective future so being denied or oppressed from it will have its impacts on that individual future. Any country will never prosper if there's racial discrimination on education or/and health. Also the fact is that under performing bumis get more quota on government uni compared to over performing non-bumis. By your logic, if the aim is to educate the fools by placing them amongst the clever then how about the under performing non-bumis?. They don't get a chance at all. Personally I don't think Malays can get whatever they want just because the system supports them but I do believe that it provides the helping hand initially through education which will pave their future and not being able to secure scholarships or zakat is something everyone faces, even PTPTN will not give us a study loan unless we're under certain income bracket. It's understandable that not everyone can get scholarships or zakat because that involves public money but to be honest, that's not non-bumis complaint while the bumis need to understand that's how scholarship works. There's only limited numbers to be given but that has nothing to do with the cheap study price for studying at these government unis. See the Indians and Chinese have a different mentality, it's not about not being able to earn in kampongs but we knew there's wider opportunities in cities with it's stronger economy. Similarly how some people make a living in a more developed countries, because the economy is stronger. Question is, will you risk it or remain with your current lifestyle. US is a bad example for you to point out because according to their labour law, not only racial discrimination, there shouldn't even be any gender discrimination. That being said, even every race born in the US have equal opportunities. Just google their labour law. You could have gotten into university solely because of your examination results but we know there are plenty other non-straight A's student that got it and plenty other straight A's non-bumi students that didn't. I'm not questioning the quality of students these universities produce but the opportunities that it provides to certain races. I've personally applied UPU many times during my earlier days, in fact waited for 2 years for any feedback but none, still meanwhile I didn't do nothing while waiting for it I moved to the city and made savings but the fact remains that no matter how long I wait, the quote for non-bumis is only 10:90. You've studied in government Uni so you'd know the numbers better than me. I'll disregard the whole British thing because as you've said, it's not relevant in today's age. Obviously these privileges on regards to education and government sector cannot be offered to all Malays and Bumi because there's only a limited numbers of seat available. For example if UM can only house 1000 students per year then they'll only select these 1000 candidates but what determines their selections?. It's the same 10:90 quota. In conclusion, when you use education as a tool to oppress other races, it will create a generation filled with racism not because of hatred they have for the Malays but for the opportunities they were not given by the system. Again in my opinion, this is the sole reason why rakyat is divided and certain races are trying to uplift their people of race.

Sadly it's noted recently by mahathir himself before the end of 2019 that he had given many chances for Malays to succeed in businesses but nearly none of them even took the chance he gave to the Malays. Even my father who is a factory manager had told me back when I was a teen that Chinese people work harder than the Malays. And my father and I were Malays.

The poorest race in Malaysia is indeed the Chinese. Every state in Malaysia we see more of poor Chinese with economy are being control by Malay and Indian. The government is not being fair and that is why the Chinese is getting poorer.
@TashaMurale10 жыл бұрын
I would say, economy wise. Yes, Malay people are running it. Indians do not get a working hand as much as you may think. We grow poor everyday. Malays get more helping hands. Take the Education department for an example, government college or universities tend to accept more Malays than any other races. I believe they have the right of getting in but its not fair when they do not meet the standard that they themselves put forward. I remember this one Chinese girl who got A+ for all her subjects in SPM and she got A in her Curriculum but she didn't get into the school she applied to while her Malay friend got 4 A- and the rest C's and B's and a C in his Curriculum got into the school she applied for. Another example is tax. If you go into a Mcdonalds or any fast food places, if you're a Malay, you get no tax. If you're not a Malay however, well you have to pay for tax. Don't believe me? Bring your Malay friend along and both of you do an experiment. Anyway, I believe equality is needed. I'm not mad nor do I hate anyone. I do not base hate on gender, sexuality or race. I base it on attitude and respectfulness. I apologize if I've offended in anyway possible.

China should give independence to Xinjiang and Tibet. It is never part of China. The Qing dynasty forcefully conqueur it. Even China is united via cruelty and slavery towards humankind under Qin Shi Huang Di. Chinese states has been warring with each other for 2000 years and they are starting to be aggressive now. When I was studying in canada, my chinese friend from Guandong tell me that people from the south of China has no sentiment towards northern part of China. They felt Chinese from the North are arrogant and aloof. He said, Guandong should ask for independent as well. Taiwan and hong kong should be independent. They have done very well without the Communist Chinese Government. Communist Chinese government don't trust Chinese people and suppress the freedom of speech. It is embarrassing to the entire Chinese race.

asdf Open your eyes and see for yourself the standard of living of Chinese people now and before 1980's economics reform under Deng Xiaping . Who would imagine a desperately poor country could raise from bottom to the second largest global economy within one life time ? Who would have predicted China will be the largest car market in the 80's ? How would know the standard of living at Xinjiang and Tibet has not improved ? "It doesn't matter whether it's a white cat or a black, I think; a cat that catches mice is a good cat." So, it doesn't matter if it is a Communist Chinese Government or what as long as the government can improve the standard of living of the people is a GOOD government. Look at Malaysia in the 80's , One Singapore $ = RM1.2 What happen now to Ringgit ? Be ready to see 1SDG$ = RM4 by 2020 . Would You still call Malaysia a High Income Nation in 2020 ??

Why do you all always reply with the same statement (go back to china, migrate to china yaadaa yaddaa, the natives dint ask you to balik indon, basic origin of malaysian malays) which has brought much disgrace to your race and mentality in general and continue doing so. Especially when, you know not how to reply, i always see this appear. What i read especially the last few sentences, stating the currency exchange too makes me wonder how will it still be considered a high income country.. Well you might be earning RM 10000 by then but when currency value is low, and gula costs RM 1000/pkt or currency exchange 1SGD= RM 1000, (hopefully not), how would it look like it neighboring country singapore earns 5000SGD on average, would you think that we are living in a high income nation? Bigger numbers doesnt necessarily mean more money. Rising costs of living might just use up your whole monthly income.

Ok, let me just say that there is something very wrong here with the system. Since the government has been giving privileges eg. Business startup funds etc., but why are the Malays still, as a whole, poorer than the Chinese, after 50+ years? The states with good Chinese populations, Selangor, Penang, KL, are doing very well and are three of the richest in Malaysia. So, why, the Malays, having tons of benefits, their incomes remain lower than the Chinese, who had never received anything from the government? The Chinese only has a 19% space in uni, while Indians are just at 4%. Some Chinese had scored very well in their examinations, only to find out that they cannot enter their desired university. HOWEVER, the depressing thing is, their Malay counterparts, who scored some 5~10 marks lower than them, gets in. This is the kind of racism we're dealing with here, and this is why Malaysia's economy, with all it's potential, will not reach its potential as potential skilled workers are not being utilized. If there was no such policy that benefits any race, Malaysia would have been a high income, developed nation since like 2005 or so. The government is basically giving the Malays tons of benefits as that is the only way they can remain in power in the elections as the Chinese and Indians are already aware of the situation, while the Malays are not aware of the severe discrimination their fellow MALAYSIAN Chinese and Indians are facing. Sometimes, they feel like as if their country has forsaken them, and thus, lots of Chinese from Malaysia emigrate from Malaysia to nations like Taiwan as they do not have opportunities here.

Bumiputra policy is a curse for Malaysia. As the President said Malaysia will never succeed as Singapore as achieved in this 60 years. I was given equal opportunity by the Singapore government until today. After my A levels I was given a English Teacher job by the Singapore Government. If I am Indian in Malaysia I would have rotted by now unable to come up in life. The best part my children are enjoying the equal education and job rights. I have served 2 Years of National Service in the Army. I am proud of that and my beloved country Singapore. My two sons have served 2 years in the Army. I am proud of that too. My daughters are receiving quality tertiary education in Singapore. This is a sickening policy by the Majority people imposed on the minority Chinese and Indians. I personally feel Singapore Indians are very much far ahead than the Indians in Malaysia. This boils down to the Singapore Government treating all races equally unlike Malaysia. educa

An undeniable truth..

1. Mr. President Obama, you are talking crap there, please check your facts in your so called Uncle Sam Country, before saying anything about ethnic equality. 2. Before all of you here, including Mr. Obama make any comment regarding equality in Malaysia, please, I said please study the history of Malaysia (Malaya then) formation. This country was formed based on mutual understanding between all races those days (Social Contract), which Malay and aborigines had sacrificed their claim of this country to make way for Chinese & Indian Ethnics to be Malaysian citizen, while some of the countries like U.S.A, had implied those days to African immigrants (or slaves) to convert into Christian, using English name & totally prohibited them to practice their culture, until in the middle of 1970s only the tight rules of religion, cultural & racist separation had been abolished. 3. About the minority disadvantages in Malaysia, are the Chinese had been halt to live their life in Malaysia? No. We even celebrate Chinese New Year, Diwali, Thaipusam, as public holidays in Malaysia, as well as other religious celebration in Sarawak & Sabah. In U.S.A, had you declared, Eidul Fitr, Chinese New Year as public holidays? No. Did you finance the ethnic school & accept their education system in your country? No. Do you accept the cultural attire of different ethnics as part of your cultural attire in U.S.A? No. So please stop preaching about the equality to Malaysia. We are doing well here, nobody had been massacred here in Malaysia, because of they are not embracing Islam. 4. Last but not least, please take care of your country's economy first, before you can talk about managing economy in a small country like us. 5. I know many of the viewer here would not agree with me, heck, i don't care, i'm just telling the fact, like others here, I'm not the same as them, who always blame other people, including disparity, UMNO, our current PM, etc., as well as their lame excuse, for their underachievement in their life. Thank you.

@Felone0073 жыл бұрын
@Wolfz Dragonz, this is your ancestor speaking, they call me Wolf Dinosaur. Talk nicely, only orang asal / asli aboriginals can call themselves bumiputera, princes of the land. Everyone else also immigrant, same like USA and Australia. I, your ancestor, also come to this land only slightly longer than those you call immigrants in the US. You should not call them that either out of respect because most of the US presidents were rightful born US citizens, not immigrants. You dishonour your ancestors by spreading such blatant lies, not only about your country but also other countries as well. Do you feel you still honour your ancestors by shaming other people in your country? All races came together to fight for independence, no bloodshed and certainly none of this immigrant stuff. All non-bumi leaders were born in Malaya, our agreement was between brothers and sisters, not citizens and immigrants. That is the same story in history books today as it was when it happened. Dont humiliate me by calling it an exchange, non-bumi's have every right to citizenship because they are born here, they did not exchange it to give majority extra rights. They are not extra, just different. Bad enough you dont even know your numbers: USA only has 250 years or so worth of presidents, before that were colonial governors for about the same amount of time... I do hope you did not learn this from your parents, else i do be need to give them a right scolding too. 8
