The minority now thrives in cities and businesses and are millionaires and billionaires. the majorities support their businesses due to the majorities kind and tolerance nature. thanks to british ruling that separate the majority natives from the business and education. the natives were encouraged to stay in rural areas to do farming and fishing, for the british to maintain control of the land. if the rights of the native were not protected, they would be beggars in their own land. the discrepancy towards economy and education were wide before independence and are now slowly improving. out of 50 millionaires in malaysia, only 3 are natives. the special rights are placed to help the majority natives whose rights to form their own country were taken away by colonisers who occupied the land for more than 446 years.

Minorities are severely discriminated in Muslim countries. Name me one Muslim country where equal rights is afforded to non-muslim minority groups? The only difference is, in most Muslim countries, this discriminatory policies is overtly exercised and very glaring, but in some Muslim countries, they do it covertly by putting up a front of "all-is-well" and that they treat their minorities equally. Only deep investigative journalism will reveal the ugly truth. The sad part is that minorities, namely, Muslim minorities enjoy special privileges in real democratic countries like India and other western countries, whereas in these Muslim countries, it's the other way round for non-muslim minorities.

A Western expat's thought of Malaysia after living there many years - ''The most interesting thing about Malaysia, in my opinion, is how the minority races have succeeded in making a success of their lives here while the Malays have largely stood still. This shows me that anyone with an entreprenurial spirit, or is prepared to work hard in an industry that has no ethnic glass ceiling can get on here. Unfortunately most Malays are still living in the world of government handouts, bumiputra subsidies and time serving promotions which demands little true achievement from them. Its doubly unfortunate because many of those Malays I have worked with are capable and hard-working. But many are not, expecting everything to be handed to them on a plate. The former are the ones who are emigrating. The latter are jealous of the achievements of the minority races and try to stoke up racial hatred in the false belief that if the minorities were forced out or at least disposessed their own success would be assured. It won’t. Without the minority races Malaysia will sink back to being - at best - a third world country again - at worst - a failed Islamic state.''

We Malaysians of Indian descent are facing an educational apartheid system worse than South Africa, and the world does not know what is happening in Malaysia. The past and present Prime Ministers, when meeting leaders from other countries, pretend that Malaysia is fair to all and even have the audacity to condemn Israel for apartheid, while there is a serious apartheid system in all sectors in Malaysia, the worst being in the education system. Let me spell out the issues: - UiTM, a university exclusively for Malay Muslims, has a 100% quota for Malays, and little to no East Malaysians are admitted. - All public universities have a 95% quota for Malay Muslims, with limited opportunities for East Malaysians. - Scholarships are 100% allocated to Malay Muslims. - There are five Islamic universities where 99% of students are Muslims, and they allow about 5% of foreign Muslims into UiTM, a so-called Muslim-only university, while our own citizens who pay taxes are completely denied entry. This has caused a serious brain drain problem in Malaysia, with about 30% of non-Malays leaving the country because they are fed up with the apartheid system in other sectors like housing, land allocation, places of worship, and civil service, where 95% are Malays Muslims in Peninsular Malaysia. There other Aparthied policies the list are long. - Housing discount developer collect money from non Malay to pay discount to majority malay buyer up yo 15%.Housing has also have quota 60% Malay Muslim. - All public listed non Malay company 50% equity must goes to Malay Muslim. - Malay Muslim pay zakat and claim back from incometax 100%. - Special Higher rate divident for govt Run ASB fun. -Malay muslim given free kindergarden called permata, hardly see any non Malay because the lesson are more Islamic.

Nowhere in Malaysia’s constitution will you find any reference to “Malay rights”. Article 153 mentions “the special position of the Malays”. The first clause of Article 153 states: “It shall be the responsibility of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to safeguard the special position of the Malays and natives of any of the States of Sabah and Sarawak and the legitimate interests of other communities in accordance with the provisions of this Article.” The second clause of Article 153 stipulates that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall ensure the reservation for Malays and since 1963, for natives of Borneo “of such proportion as he may deem reasonable of positions in the public service…and of scholarships, exhibitions and other similar educational or training privileges or special facilities given or accorded by the Federal Government and…any permit or licence for the operation of any trade or business is required by federal law…” Clause 4 expressly states that: “In exercising his functions under this Constitution and federal law…the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall not deprive any person of any public office held by him or of the continuance of any scholarship, exhibition or other educational or training privileges or special facilities enjoyed by him.” As a result of the pogrom of May 13, 1969, the country was presented with a fait accompli by the new ruling class in UMNO who were keen to propagate their “bumiputraist” ideology as a convenient populist ploy. Again, you will not see any mention of “bumiputera” in the Malaysian constitution. Thus, in early 1971 the Constitution (Amendment) Act was passed adding a new clause (No. 8A) to Article 153: “…where in any university, college and other educational institution providing education after Malaysian Certificate of Education or its equivalent, the number of places offered by the authority responsible for the management of the university, college or such educational institution to candidates for any course or study is less than the number of candidates qualified for such places, it shall be lawful for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong by virtue of this Article to give such directions to the authority as may be required to ensure the reservation of such proportion of such places for Malays and natives of any of the States of Sabah and Sarawak as the yang di-Pertuan Agong may deem reasonable; and the authority shall duly comply with the directions.” This is the “quota system” we have lived with for the last forty years or so and which has created so much acrimony for that length of time. Strictly speaking, if we were to go by UMNO’s “social contract” at Independence in 1957, that “social contract” certainly does not include Clause 8A of Article 153. And if we scrutinize this clause more closely, we will see that it is definitely not a carte blanche for the blatant racial discrimination as is the case of enrolment at institutions such as UiTM.

There are so many wrong information in this video. For a start, Malay Muslims does not represent almost 70% of the population. They only represent roughly half of the population. This alone talks a lot about the rest of the video. "In the Malaysian constitution we have a special (provision) for the Malay (Muslim)". The exact same thing can also be found in the constitution of Singapore up to this day as the country was formerly part of Malaysia, and the constitution was agreed upon by the leaders of the different ethnic groups when Malaysia (known as Malaya back then) gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1957. Now if we really want to talk about discrimination, Malaysia is the only country in the world that allows its ethnic minorities Chinese and Indian, in which their ancestors were brought in by the British in the 19th-20th century against the will of native Malaysians, to have their own government-funded schools that teaches in their own respective languages instead of the national language. Malaysia also allowed the construction of mega statues of other religions, as for example, the mega Hindu temple of Batu Caves houses what was once the tallest Murugan statue in the world; the mega Buddhist temple of Kek Lok Si in Penang houses the tallest standing bronze Guan Yin (Avalokiteshvara) statue in the world; and many more some of the largest and longest Buddha statues, megachurches like the Calvary Church of Bukit Jalil, etc. Malaysia also recognizes the culture and religions of ethnic minorities by giving national public holidays on their festivities; Christmas, Chinese New Year, Wesak of Buddhism, Deepavali (Diwali) of Hinduism, etc. And please, learn more about the foundation of nation building of Malaysia when British first left the country.

i dont know if you read history or not. The malays and other bumiputeras were colonised by british for 446 years. They practised separation, means the natives live in rural areas, small villages, forests and support their livelihood by small farming, and fishing, while the british control the economy by planting large scale rubber and palm oil plantation, and mining. British bring immigrants to work at the plantation and cities to run businesses. This special rights are given to reduce the discrepancies so that the natives can also control the economy, education and government after independence. If not, the bumiputeras will be colonised by the richer,more educated immigrants in their own land. this was taught in our school history. this special rights will disappear once the discrepancies disappear as the natives until now are still the poorest economically, although improving.

@raychabaharuddin33998 ай бұрын
As a Malay and Malaysian, while I can acknowledge some of your points, I must disagree with your comparison of the quota systems in Malaysia and Australia. The Indigenous-based quotas in Australia aim to increase representation for Indigenous Australians, who make up only 3.8% of the population, in various fields where they are typically underrepresented. Conversely, in Malaysia, the Bumiputera, who form the majority, are given unequal privileges. This discrepancy means that Malaysian quotas should not be equated with those in Australia or America, where such systems benefit both Indigenous and non-Indigenous citizens, creating a win-win scenario. In contrast, Malaysia's quotas provide advantages to certain ethnic groups while disadvantaging others, resulting in an imbalance without mutual benefit.

Malaysian politician knows that Malays as themselves cannot sustain the economy and will regress tremendously, if they don't depend on other ethnic groups. Pakistan is a great example. However they also know that, if policies are not made to favoured the handicapped majority, they will be voted out. It aslo baffled me that over the years, after numerous twists and turns of the narrative, these handicapped policies becomes a privilege. All in all, because of all these discrimination, other ethnic groups thrive. Survival of the fittest. In my lifetime, the only medical doctor I know is Dr Mahathir. Why? Because they are not as hardworking as the other groups.

In other countries, discrimination is illegal, but in Malaysia, discrimination is legal by law. Article 153 has been abused immensely to create a Bumi apartheid system, providing limitless special privileges for Malay Muslims. Non-Malays are subject to discrimination and must sustain themselves without much assistance. The 8% minority Indians are pushed to the corner, while the Chinese somehow manage to thrive. However, the system lumps the Indians and Chinese together as one wealthy group, while Malays are perceived as poor for another thousand years need continuous assistance.

The Chinese n Indian mentality are worst than them. Anyway every race have its own black sheep. I must say that we Chinese n Indians must b grateful to Malaysia. We can have everything n peace if we work hard n respect other races. To those who don’t like Malaysia, feel free to migrate. Malays are original inhabitants of the Peninsula? This is new to me. As an example, where did Parameswara come from?
@muhammadfarisbinabduljalil18695 ай бұрын
He was a Malay from Sumatra but came to a peninsula already populated by Malays since before Sriwijaya, his ancestors' empire, which united Sumatra and Malaya. If you read history, you would know that he only came with some of his men from his court. He didn't come with 10 000 Malays lol. He came to Malaya and rebuilt his ancestors' empire by locating the local Malays there. How on earth was he supposed to do that if the land was empty or populated by ppl who did not speak his language LOL.
@muhammadfarisbinabduljalil18695 ай бұрын
Parameswara was on the run and sought shelter. Malays have inhabited both Sumatra and Malaya long before the first Malay empire, Sriwijaya, united them. I don't know what nonsense ur spouting. Sriwijaya fell and he was on the run. Simple. Why on earth would he flee to lands that were outside his ancestors' sphere of influence? Lol.
