Romney lost by being coherent. He should have just repeated "Wrong, wrong, WRONG! That is fake news!"
@Awakeningspirit204 жыл бұрын
As someone left-leaning, I wish Romney had won in 2012 because his victory would have absorbed and pacified the elements that would become Trumpism before they ever got to that point. Romney is basically using the same points here that Trump brought up in 2016, just intelligently and respectfully as opposed to having a complete meltdown. The Romney Administration would have gone in and done the sorts of things Trump wanted to do, but better because he would have consulted experts and figured out how to manage trade right... that is, if Romney was actually serious about keeping his promises. Having Paul Ryan as VP would be a lot like having him as Speaker; his tax 'cuts' agenda would have been pushed and may have even gone through. But the point is, whether Romney kept his promises or not, he would have been president until 2020 at maximum and Fox News would have been on his side and promoting him, making the Trump elements feel like they had won. This means a lot less fuel for the Alt-Right's news networks and their rise would have either been pushed back or eliminated. Obama's second term was a complete waste where he pandered to social liberal ideas like first gay marriage (actually a good thing) and by the end he was openly going around trying to force transgender bathroom agendas while a major terrorist network was taking over the Middle East. Those four years let all the hate about Obama grow even worse and culminate in Trump himself becoming president. So in my hypothesis, Romney going in with a mild conservative agenda, building up the military, and keeping the peace would have been for the best. A Democrat could have beaten him in 2016 or succeeded him in 2020, just with a lot less damage done to the national fabric.

Free market? A free market doesn't require govt levhing protectionist tariffs against foreign competitiors, a free market allows competition amongst all suppliers, and encourages competition. A free market doesn't consist of govt picking winners and losers through subsidies, bailouts, and tariffs.

So Romney says he "loves Teachers", but doesn't believe in investing into our Education, rather investing in already failing businesses. Education is the most important factor in the success of any society. If the people are not educated how do you expect them to manage and finance a local business. What Romney proposed would have made every business in america rely on the government for support instead of being self-sufficient and thriving.

I noticed a tell in Mitt Romney: Whenever he gets called out on something absolutely correct that he can’t spin, he stays absolutely still and blinks much slower. When he got called out by David Muir for the 47% comment, he did the same thing.

The thing about monetary-experience based politicians is that they think everything revolves around making as much money as possible
@derrickstorm69766 жыл бұрын
That is too narrow and one-sided view

Funnier to notice that the most prolific "businessmen politicians" like trump actually fail when it comes to maintaining a big company and pleasing investors.

Jake T Trump would have 13 billion dollars today if he never did his businesses and instead parked his money in a Mutual Fund, but he’s so stupid he would have invested in Bernie Madoff’s mutual fund.

Wait, you mean politicians actually sat down, didn't interrupt other candidate answers with childish comebacks, and didn't revert to personal attacks? Must've been nice
