Two metal queens coming together to give us one epic performance. I would recommend checking out some of Tatiana's other collaborations. Her cover of "Man in the Box" with Suicide Silence is quite good. I think Dave may have reacted to her collaboration with 12 Foot Ninja but if you have not "Over and Out" (OMV) is well worth a reaction. Anyway another great reaction from you two.

This is what I love about music. Ash hasn’t really liked Spiritbox before but this collab made her more interested. I love Spiritbox but have never really got into Jinjer but this collab has defo made me want to give them another go cos Tatiana’s gutterals fit this so well.

Courtney can also do the gutteral screams. Hell, you can find her doing several screams in multiple songs. She just does whatever serves the song. She sounded a lot more singularly gutteral in Unicron and IWABO. Thankfully, she is more varied now.

@@RipleyE-we1hj to be fair to them, tatiana has multiple spellings, especially when the person's name is originally written in the cyrillic alphabet. some sources have spelled her name like "tetjana" as well

@@frankh9600 I didn't do in depth search back. In the current video they said Ash had only seen 1 Spiritbox video. About a year ago Dave and Ash did a reaction to Rule of Nines one take. Dave had previously done several reactions to Spiritbox. Holy Roller very well may have been his very first reaction to them but it was just him. But like I said I didn't do the most through search back in their videos. Ash may have seen Holy Roller. I can say for certain Ash has seen Rule of Nines and assuming the information in their current video is correct it is her only exposure to Spiritbox and she didn't like it.

Courtney does a bit of a keen, which I enjoy, in part of the chorus, but Tati doesn't replicate it when she sings the chorus. I'm not sure whether Tati knows how to do the technique. Given how many styles & techniques she has mastered, I'd be a bit surprised if she doesn't know how to do it, but on the other hand, it wouldn't really seem appropriate in many Jinjer songs, and that may be why she never learned it. She does use a kind of sob sound at the onset or offset of many vocalisations, so there can't really be any doubt that she could easily learn it. Anyway, kind of a moot point I guess, just thought it was a bit interesting as I'm a fan of some singers who have done plenty of keening, such as Sinead O'Connor and Dolores O'Riordan.

By keening, do you mean a pitch break into a different (higher) octave? Similar to a yodel? I've noted Courtney doing that. Sinead did it too RIP. One thing I love that Courtney does is when she alternates between sung and screamed notes, like in "I have the power of a dying sun." That's almost a keening thing in its way, if I'm understanding you. It's also a very difficult thing to do.

@@hemlock399 it's beautiful. It raises the hairs on the back of my neck. I do a little bit of it myself, and it's one of my favorite sounds. It does remind me of yodeling.

@ericpeterson7512 Agreed, it's beautiful. I'd call it one cycle of a yodel, where a yodel normally consists of many consecutive cycles. I had no idea you sing - very cool. Cheers!
