I got lucky by having the obelisk card be available immediately! You REALLY have to manage mana well for this one since it gets drained extremely quickly.

The tower with MostShield+MostShield+MostShield priority seemed to be attacking randomly because there were no shielded targets in range yet, and without Progress as a tertiary priority there was nothing to tell it what to attack. Edit to add: I was curious how it would handle the situation where it's priorities don't give a target to attack. Random it is! For science!

Science!!! I don't like how if I have MostShield+MostArmor+other, it can still prioritize MostArmor. So it feels like I would need to do MostShield+MostShield+MostArmor to give MostArmor the lowest multiplicative for priority

Pretty sure I remember reading that it was progress by default as in if non of you selections apply it targets progress. Most health, armor, shield is just target the most combined health any unit has, does not matter if it has no shield or armor just the most combined values. It just happens to be that shielded units tend to have the most combined Hit point's. Most health means it will target the unit with the most green bar BUT does not care if there are shields in the way. SO for example the Gates at the end have the largest Green bars but also shields and armor, the tower set to most health will not care about the shields or armor but will still target the gate. If you go lest health fastest it will target the ghosts (fast shielded), if you target Most shield, Lest health, Fastest it will still target ghosts but now will try to only make all the shields on them in range equally low switching targets if the alpha strike does not kill them. You see a tower switching as it does damage clearly at 33:27 where its swapping between the enemy's it damages but not clearing shields.

Obelisk without Ballistas is so rough in the begining, because you miss out on so much gold from houses. But Obelisks are very strong towers. I always make a three layered Obelisk defense. 4 Vanguards, 1 each with heavy shield/hp/armor only investment on most of their respective category, and 1 with shield and some HP investment on least shield. Because of how the targeting is calculated, most shield often doesnt remove the shields completely. Then comes the cleanup crew. 4 Obelisks with medium investment in all categories, this kills all the stragglers. And then the last line of defense, another 4-5 Obelisks, all on progress, with some shield and hp investment. Those I use to clean up eldritch spawns. Once you get the "crit deals damage equal to DoT" cards, you have basically won. Obelisks crit all the time and aplly tons of dot effects. Just dont die to the spawns from 40 onwards

Lookout towers and obelisk work when the obelisk is set to "marked" and follow the lookouts around vs them independently targeting against each other.

Lookouts also share crit chance. Leveling them would add a ton of damage for much cheaper as well as saving a ton of mana. It's also odd not focusing on grabbing the tier three damage to get the crit cards sooner. 20 percent less mana can also be thought of 20 percent more towers.

@@Verowak I got the haste reduction one, it helps that encampments are pretty awesome. Having trouble with the slow one, pretty sure I'm just getting bad maps, or way too many other cards, or both. But having problems getting that one. Going to try and reset to focus my cards a bit better.

What was the advantage with only upgrading obelisks, and avoiding upgrading lookout towers? Particularly for that region where you had 2 obelisks targeting "marked", so the lookout towers upgrades would've effectively upgraded two obelisks for the gold of one?

There was no advantage, I don't really plan things out or think things through when playing, so there's bound to be non optimal decisions.

Someone mentioned encampments...I think encampment obelisk would be a great combo...some synchronisity as they don't use mana.

Obelisk and encampment can both solo 1 path, and I agree, having a combo with 1 mana using tower and 1 non mana using tower is a great plan

Robo Oogi was destroyed not decimated. If you decimated him you would have only taken a tenth of his health/shield/armor.

The word itself refers to one-tenth, but leaves it open to contextual interpretation whether you removed a tenth (killed one tenth), or removed a tenth (from the pool of ppl you kill).

I'd like to throw out there that while people say that War for the Overworld is the spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper, I personally don't believe that to be true. While the gameplay is similar, everything else is basically different. It's especially noticeable with the art style and color, which are in contrast of Dungeon Keeper. And a lot of the other Dungeon Keeper successors take the comedy way further than Dungeon Keeper ever did. Dungeon Keeper didn't even have that much comedy. Any comedy it did have was darker, and had more of that feeling of dread in it. All in all, I don't think a good spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper has come out yet.
