A more recent patch lets you use the build menu in the stairwell and "other public areas" may require you to clean up a room before you can renovate it. If you haven't patched it then your apartment is the only place you can build menu.

13:50 by the gods! HE FINALLY DID IT MAN!!! Like when you told me you wasted some time not realizing the bottom apartment was yours and you couldn't rent it out .. I thought maybe like one or 2 more videos not almost half way through the videos in this playlist haha ... Bless your heart dude!! I get it, there really is something about recording playing a game where you miss things. I didn't realize it until I started recording a few lets plays (never posted them because my audio quality is ATROCIOUS! And I don't know if I want to dump money into a fancy mic or not) and when I watched them over I was missing things that were like right in front of me too! I mean this comment with so much love! I'm gonna be SO sad when this let's play is over! I love when you do your little "uhuh uhuh" haha

No, it took me way too long to realize. We got there eventually, though! As far as mics go, I'm currently using a fairly cheap USB Samson Meteor mic. A bit of EQ and some compression can get you surprisingly far if there's no echo. Whenever the mines update finally comes out, I'll be doing a new series starting from scratch because a) a decent bit of new content has generally released since, and b) ... well you'll see :D Hopefully I can catch up in a matter of hours and with editing bring that down to just a few parts.

It's really insane how quickly things move once you restart and know what to do/where to go. I decided to restart because my mental health had gotten so bad BUT my infection had gotten SO bad too the doc said I only had like 6 days to live! So I paid like 250RM for them to do the cutting treatment and it brings your health down so badly. I was at like 13% and I was scared my character was going to y'know (had yt delete one of my comments and it was prolly cuz of trying to skirt around what the player does to themselves) and I was afraid with 13% health I was gonna go into 0%. So I decided to restart and there's an option to turn off mental health, call me a wimp or a cheater for doing it .. but I just couldn't handle it anymore haha I'm playing the game to stave off /MY/ mental health and having the worry about theirs was rough hahaha.. Anyway, I managed to fill my resource box almost completely full of resources and I'm back to 3 tenants already! I'm at level 6 farming! It was a little frustrating restarting, but I was able to get back where I was I think pretty quickly anyway, it sucks there's no way to keep track of time except for days of the week.
