It's really rough. Mutants generally need AP ammo which isn't super easy to get early. After several hours of play, I feel like I've seen an entire playthrough's worth of bloodsuckers, though. Kinda kills the "OH GOD" when they're more common than Flesh.

Generally the day/night cycle should coincide with the general tempo of the game. Anomaly's 4 hours worked well and it's surprising to see time move so quickly here. We can sleep in a bed, but we don't seem to set a timer. Very odd combination.

@@ClosetYeti Yeah it does seem like the devs wanted a much faster tempo of gameplay than previous games (possibly to fit better with a wider array of console gamer schedules - playing just an hour here and there and not binge sessions). Would also explain the crazy abundance of food and drink in every container

I suspect the muddiness is the frame interpolation, no? I could try reducing input delay and seeing if that helps, but I expect it to be iffy when interpolation has to pick up more slack EDIT: Frame interpolation regarding frame generation. The VSync muddiness is a different cause to which reduced input delay helps a bunch

@@ClosetYeti Yeah those all definitely cause input delay too, though the game also ships with mouse smoothing and acceleration by default, which really exacerbates the feeling of muddiness and makes doing any fine-correction with aim difficult (especially when framerates drop) - doing the ini tweak fix just generally results in a much more consistent mouse input feeling which makes the input lag added from v-sync and frame interpolation far less distracting and impactful. Also enabling NVIDIA Reflex in the Display settings, that made a big difference too. I think you'll notice the difference immediately, it was night and day difference on my setup but admittedly I play a lot of CS so I'm probably more sensitive to input lag / have a lower frustration tolerance for it.

Yeah, they uh.. they don't really mind spilling the beans. It worked great back in, like.. Crisis 2. I'm not sure if sole survivors really need to be giving Tarkov levels of comms to their dead friends. I guess they don't know they're the last one standing.

I don't get much of a Rimworld vibe playing it much, actually. The more I play, the more it leans into a Crusader Kings meets Prison Architect. Crusader Kings for the diplomacy and lineage management, and Prison Architect for the day cycle being largely out of your control and folks just do _things_. Someone also mentioned The Sims, which I think I'd agree with, too.

Ah, HoMM. You say zounds and my mind goes right into 500-999. The combat is kinda silly here, but I like it. Odd for a peasant with apparently decent combat stats to largely handle the wolf with fists, but hey - at least peasants are completely helpless.

I think bidding personalities alone would suffice. If you know Ezekiel has a hard on for anything "chest" related, he's gonna overbid for it. Similarly, Clarissa might be all about the art objects while Gertrude is really only looking for garbage because they have no money. Locker RNG becomes more than just what's inside - it's what's (who's) outside, too.

The blind auctions saved the late game for me and scratched the rest of that itch!

Not sure on illegal goods, but generally I'd be okay with set items. The demo had a PDA menu for quests, which seems to have been a dropped idea. Set items could be reincarnated through a quest system where NPC #4 is looking for a bass drum and two snares of at least bad quality, in example.

Yeah, that might be a bit rough. FSR's frame generation is pretty incredible, but if your base frame rate is too low it's gonna suck. You might be okay with medium settings, frame generation, and 1080 resolution. Maybe.
