Oberalppass Wonderful Drive to Andermatt Switzerland 4K

The Oberalppass connects the municipalities of Sedrun in the canton of Graubünden with Andermatt in the canton of Uri in Switzerland. The pass lies at 2044 metres above sea level and the Oberalpsee lake lies immediately to the west of it.
As a link between the Ursern Valley and the Surselva, the Oberalppass was already an important Alpine crossing in the Middle Ages. The main road over the pass is closed in winter. The opening hours of the pass vary depending on snow conditions from mid-April to the beginning of December at the latest. The Furka-Oberalp railway was built in 1926, electrified in 1942 and has been in operation all year round ever since. It has been part of the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway since 2003.
