Thanks. Your videos are so well planned, scripted, and shot. I would love to see more of them, but I appreciate that making the video adds a lot of uncompensated time to each repair. Thanks for the ones you do post.

Loved it. If I were this customer I would always send to you and be so thrilled. Whomever did these previous repairs was no where as experienced as you. Thanks for sharing, absolutely loved it!

0:54 Funny thing is... when I pulled my chassis from my "outer case" on my FVS, I definitely noticed the heft of the case because the inner chassis is significantly lighter, but... I had to be careful because the inner chassis can be a bit fragile. 5:30 Appearances of the knobs from the later "OB" series and Xpander/Matrix-12 synths are likely for that assumption. Luckily, I had copies of the old service manual which describe how to disassemble the knobs. 9:10 Tom Oberheim had commented during a couple of his SEM reissue press releases that he was not crazy about the molex connectors, for which I've experienced some fragility with them. I also experienced what Tom mentioned with the freq. vernier knobs as well (easily knudged and would get "loose" over time) and the filter mode switch knob? Can't find new direct replacements or convenient substitute parts for years. EDIT: The thing I notice when I serviced the SEM's themselves was with the exception of the black molex connector, the rest are actually "white" nylon that were dyed by fabric coloring.

That us one rude sounding synth, nice clean work all around, this is like asrm for an electronics aficionado, I was just wondering what you used to re-lube the scratchy pots

You had to play Jump, didn't you? 🤦😆 BTW, what sort of lubricant goes onto the shafts of those pots once they're cleaned? I've got a couple of pots that are not-so-smooth anymore on an old amplifier and I'd like to return them to their original smoothness. Thanks for sharing.

Another great video, thanks!. That's what mine looks like. The guy I bought it from removed it from the case and threw the case away! On the upside, I can carry my FVS under one arm now.

hello mr synth guy, I have an original Arturia minibrute, and I believe it sat too close to a humidifier. It didn't turn on one day when I plugged it in. When I opened it up I noticed mineral deposits on the board. Do I take ISO and a toothbrush to it? There's nobody in my city that could repair something like this, and even if I didn't get it to work, it's a beautiful piece of technology and a shame to dispose of it. I don't understand how to safely dig into this as I'm not experienced enough.
