matrix6 has some magic despite its DCOs. Great show, as always!!

Thank you and yes, I agree! Really incredible synthesizer!

yummy comparisons! looking forward to future vids.

Thank you so much! Any synths you'd like me to shoot out?

@@VultureCulture I’ve always had a soft spot for the JX 3P. I had one for many years, but don’t recall why I ended up selling it, probably because I was a poor college student and needed the money!

My prophet 600 lost it's life during a lightning storm in a very old 1900' farm house... it was a sad day.😢

once again an awesome comparison too bad I've missed it. Nobody is doing it like you are. The DCO vs VCO thing: Just be aware of there are different architectures of DCOs. And the one in the Matrix 6 is as close to a VCO as possible in opposite to the alpha Juno. As I understood it, it's more like a VCO within digital control. If you leave it on for a day and then play without autotune and calibration it sounds even more massive. Regarding the waveforms, you can also turn on both at the same time.

What makes it different from the Alpha Juno? Great info!

My Neanderthal thinking never came upon leaving it on for a day without tuning to spread out the detune. I will be checking this out! Thank you for the tip!

The pro800 is magnificent. But its greatest curse is- it’s not a great musical instrument without a keyboard and performer features like 8x8 patch buttons… It’s a really great sound though

My friend Yuki does not like the aliasing sound of the oscillators, but I've yet to check it out myself.

My main gripe with the Matrix-6 are the envelopes. Not snappy and thus they feel hard to manage. I’ve heard a new firmware chip actually makes them faster.
@VultureCulture8 ай бұрын
I don't know if the Tauntek mod addresses that or not. The P600 envelopes bother me even after the mod.

The interface on the M6 is a deal breaker for me. P600 is great.

@@VultureCultureI’m super interested in that. Have years of practice programming Akai and Ensoniq stuff, but man I get fatigued programming the matrix-6

What do you think of the PS-3300 re? Tempted?

More tempted than the rest of the recent Korg offerings!

@@VultureCulture Probably the baddest analog poly, that or the OB 8-Voice. The smaller PS-3100 was like $5K+ when JP-8 and CS-80 were around 2K.

You can change the curve of the Matrix´s envelopes with the mod matrix.
@VultureCulture8 ай бұрын
How's that work?
@juno68 ай бұрын
@@VultureCulture if you want to change the decay of, let's say, env 2, you select env 2 as a mod source and env 2 decay as destination... Depending on positive or negative modulation amount, you get log/exp curves. I never tried it on the Matrix, but it should work.
@VultureCulture8 ай бұрын
@juno6 wow! Never thought to try it

@@VultureCulture you can use it on any synth with mod matrix and modulation input on its envelopes. I've used it on modular synths, Andromeda, Nord G2, etc... It should work on the Matrix...

@@VultureCulture want another trick? You can use the tracking generator to introduce slight detuning across the keyboard on one of the dcos so you don't have that rock solid tuning when you play octaves.
