This is definitely a dream synth! I find the sounds of the Oberheim absolutely enchanting! Thanks for the great demo and programming tips. 👍🎹

Hi Toby! Please make more videos like this! I found this a very good video to learn sound design. 🤗

Beautiful sounds from a monster synth!

Thank you! Yes, it is a great sounding beast and not that narrow sweet spots as many synths has to get sound great.

@@analogprophet I love mine because it is soo easy to sound like a pro playing it or go into very wacky experimental territory. Like greatest hits of Oberheim synths in one. Expensive but more affordable than a vintage Oberheim.

There is just something special about Oberheim synths, to me they are the warmest sounding synths 😅

definitely in top 10 of greatest synths ever made. Mine just arrived and love it even though not cheap.

hey Toby. its a fun synth to program. everything is right where it should be for the most part. sometimes digging through page 2 sucks, but its easier than it was back in the day
@analogprophet2 жыл бұрын
Yes the fun part of this synth is, except to play, to program. My guess of lay out the Page 2 by a menu is to be able to update it with new firmwares. The Prophet 5/10 rev 4 gets increasingly more combinations of knob hits for every new function that comes with every firmware update - a bit frustrating to remember. Page 2 as a menu instead of a second layer per knob as the OB-8 will solve such things more elegant.
@P-S-T2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Bought OB-X8 yesterday and found this very useful. What would you like to see in a firmware update?
@analogprophet2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations! What I would like to see in a future update? A dedicated user preset bank
@P-S-T2 жыл бұрын
@@analogprophet Same here! Making sound on this is so fun, so to save patches in userbank and faster naming them would be great!

Regarding firmware upgrades: Would like to have the sustain pedal holding arpeggios. And a way to read of the values of a preset other than just the «edited» text, as you have on the sequential prophets and the ob-6. even better, like it is on the access virus.

How can you sequence two parts in split or double mode since it is bi-timbral?
@analogprophet Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don’t give technical support, please check the manual. My way to sequence two or more parts is to use my DAW and sequence one part a time and commit it to audio.

Can you share the reference of your pedal please ? :)

Moog EP2. I prefer M-Audio EX-P Expression Pedal but it was connected to another synth.
