The OB-Xa and the Matrix 12 are legendary beasts to me. Nice playing btw.

Thanks a lot! The music in the teaser video from J3PO is absolutely great! It sounds more like an OB-X rather than the OB-Xa. I suppose you’ve heard my demo as well? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJemm4OFqNammJY

Any chance we can see some tutorials on how these patches were made? Or just some tutorials on synthesis? Great videos! Please upload this synth with longer stretches, i could listen to it all day.

Even with a single monophonic voice with just 2 oscillators, this puppy can sound about as massive as a Minimoog or Odyssey. Love to know what kind of envelope and modulation settings were used to create the first patch. Love to hear the OBXa pitched against the Prophet T-8. I think if I were playing music already by 1984, that would’ve attracted me more than the Prophet 5 or 10.

Im using a pedal for opening the filter. This makes the synth very expressive. The first sound was made with a typical ADSR envelope on VCF with high resonance.

To me, this, the Prophet-5 and the Jupiter-8 are *the* 80s synths.

Nice Job. I'm thinking Siel Opera 6 , Sequential Circuits Velocity 6, and Oberheim OB-8.

To my ears still the biggest sounding poly ever made. As aggressive as the Prophet, denser than the Jupiter, as fat as any Moog and nearly as trippy as the CS-80. Large modular tonal depth and vicious attack with 8 voices and program memory. All the soft versions of it and the OB-6 bow before it's might.
