Oberheim Xpander Ambient Live Looping

All sounds in this track are from the Oberheim Xpander. I used four Looper Devices in Ableton that I controlled with the Midi Fighter Twister. Reverb and Delay are from Valhalla DSP Delay & Vintage Verb.
My Oberheim Xpander was completely overhauled by SYNTHTASTE (Bochum / Germany). All dying parts were replaced and it got a new power supply. www.synthtaste.com/en/

No, I had to run the tuning routine again after a week but since then it is super stable. I guess that the new power supply helps a lot to keep the tuning.

Der Oberheim Xpander ist ein Synthesizer! Er wurde in den 80ern gebaut und bietet sehr viele Möglichkeiten zum Programmieren von Sounds, die selbst aktuelle Synthesizer nicht haben. Es gab damals den großen Bruder Matrix 12, der eine Tastatur hat und später noch kleinere Rack-Geräte wie den Matrix 1000, der ganz ohne Bedienelemente auskommt.

Sorry this is a noob question. I’m still trying to understand Ableton’s looping with hardware. The way it’s looping through Ableton I’m guessing it’s playing multiple patches at once on the Xpander? Are they playing/looping back as audio or midi tracks in the DAW?

It is a midi controller. I can start and stop the recording of the sounds that I play and also change the volume levels and add reverb or delay.
