Green Bay, coming off of a thrilling 21-16 win in the Wild Card against Philadelphia a week earlier, march into the Georgia Dome to take on the #1 seed Atlanta Falcons. The Packers, behind the best performance of Aaron Rodgers' career, throttle the Falcons 48-21 and move on to the NFC Championship, where an old rival waits in the wings.

Aaron Rodgers has had many great games in his career, but this was the game that stood out in my opinion. 31-36 passing for over 350 yards, 3 TDs, one rushing, and no picks against the #1 seeded Falcons in the Georgia Dome where they rarely lose. This performance I think elevated him to a whole new level that we are seeing today.

Yes, it's one of his finest hours. The game against Chicago the next week was a joke. He didn't play all that well, Chicago was just bad. The Super Bowl is his #1 performance but the Atlanta game is #2. They went in there with almost no one but Green Bay homers giving them a chance to win.

To this day I still think this is Rodgers' best game of his career. You go into Atlanta, the #1 seed, as a #6 wildcard and he throws for 31/36 300+ yards and 3 TD. Only 5 misses, I mean damn.... And look at some of the lasers he threw for completions in this game. Just my opinion.

Quite the difference play calling wise here, painful to watch the 2015 NFCCG against Seattle. McCarthy coached like such a chickenshit in that game, GB had Seattle on the ropes, Sherman f’s his elbow and is playing with one arm, and they didn’t attack him. GB gets possession late and needs 1 first down to seal the game, MM calls 3 straight dives in the A gap to Eddie Lacy, such horseshit. In this game against Atlanta even up big they kept the pressure on by throwing for first downs.

As it often does, fate in sports was as much about the matchups as the actual talent of certain teams. Packers drawing the Eagles, Falcons, and Bears...there's a reason Rodgers hasn't been back. He's had to play teams like Seattle or San Francisco that had more complete teams. All three of these teams were missing components and they had enough to take advantage.

I remember leaving to meet up with my buddies immediately after the James Jones TD just before halftime, running to my car so I could get there before the 3rd Quarter started, turned the game on the radio and not even a mile down the road, I almost drove off the road when Tramon Williams picked off Matty Ice for a Pick 6 from celebrating lol

That pick six completely changed the game. The Falcons were within field goal range. They were about to narrow it to a 4-point game. Then, the pick is thrown, and by the time they got the ball again, they were down 21 points. What made the Falcons so good that year was how incredibly balanced their offense was. Suddenly, their running game was completely neutralized, and the Packers ferocious pass rushers could pin their ears back.

Both SB XLV teams had epic performances on divisional Saturday. Different types of epic (a blowout and a comeback), but still epic in their own way.

I'm a Bills fan, but going into this game I was fairly confident the Packers would win. They were a much better team than what their 6th seed indicated. Going into 2010 the Packers were heavy favorites to get to the Super Bowl but had some key injuries and stumbled for most of the season before getting their act together at the end of the year. I actually thought the two strongest teams in the NFC playoffs that season were the Wild Card teams (the Saints and Packers), and wasn't impressed with anybody else in the NFC. From what little I saw from the Falcons that year they didn't look too menacing, and I thought the Bears merely took advantage of Green Bay underperforming for most of the season and weren't as good as what their #2 seed said.

jesus this packers team was loaded. they steamrolled atlanta here. 35-0 run in the second half. whew, complete domination on offense and defense. jennings had a hall of fame year in 2010. he doesn’t get enough credit because of his big mouth.

Oh, how this Packer fan loved this game. At the time, I was a regular on a football talk site, and the Falcon fans on there were absolutely full of it in the days leading up to it. Felt so good to see them silent and humbled in the aftermath. And as for John Abraham, what a dipshit. What goes round... PS If any salty ATL fans want to remind me about what happened six years later to retaliate, save it. Almost worth it to see what happened from 3-28 onwards.
