Ahsoka broke open the right side of his mask, Obi-Wan broke open the left side. Both couldn't bring Anakin back, but Luke was able to completely take his mask off, bringing him back to the light. Very poetic.

When Vader says **"I am not your failure"** , his face is covered in blue light as if Anakin Is accepting the apology from Obi wan . Then his face turns red , when Vader returns with darkness . This was so symbolising in a way that even though He's Darth Vader there's is still some Anakin left in him only those who really know him can take out .(Another instance Ashoka ) and Finally Master Qwai Gon for 5secs after two and a half decades Overally what a great short series which greatly connects the events , also keeping the characters comically accurate . I will be not mad or sad if we don't get a season 2 . Loved your reaction and review guys

This episode really delivered for us. No, the show wasn't perfect and certainly has it's drawbacks, but overall we really enjoyed it. The emotion between Obi Wan and Vader/Anakin...wow! That dialogue...hard hitting. Vader struggling with his own weakness and moving more towards OT Vader...with the Emperor's manipulation of course! Ian McDiarmid! Yes! OT Star Wars music! And Qui Gon! Reva just knows the kid is force sensitive and an important one since Obi-Wan and Bail protect him, but that doesn’t mean she knows HOW important he truly is. About her saying she failed, SHE’S NOT TALKING she failed because she didn’t kill Luke, she’s talking about HER PAST, about she couldn’t do anything to save her family of younglings, she’s talking about how she failed them not because of not killing Luke, which he tried to kill not because of she had a resin related to them, but because that’s what she’s been doing for Vader trying to get closer to him to kill him, but now she has tried and failed and of course is not an inquisitor, she still was trying to project that anger and the only way she knew how to do it was: acting like an Inquisitor, so she learned about that force sensitive kid that was being protected: she thought of killing him, but once there, and not having the purpose of getting closer to Vader by doing what would please him, then the realization that in that path she took she was becoming exactly like him, that’s why she couldn’t kill him and why she asks Obi-Wan if she was like him, and also that’s the reason Obi-Wan is not that concerned, ‘cause he understood that hate for Vader was the only true reason for her to be an Inquisitor and to be at the dark side of the force, and he realizes there’s good in Reva and that would be the path now she would take.

When it comes to Reva having this knowledge, I’m okay with it because she found redemption and she feels guilt for who she was becoming. I think Kenobi knows she will change her ways and therefore is no threat to the Skywalker children or to himself. This is how I’ve made it make sense. Thanks for the awesome reactions!

The thing that surprised me the most was Vader’s first line to Obiwan after his mask was broken: “I am not your failure, Obiwan”. THAT, I feel was the root of Obiwan’s depression following Revenge of the Sith. Can you imagine training someone from a young child, then seeing your pupil murder children and force choke his pregnant wife?? We see Ahsoka beat herself up so many times, wondering what she could’ve done to prevent Annakin’s turn to the darkside. Her face off with Vader was nearly identical to Obiwan’s. Both Obiwan and Ahsoka leave their confrontations with Vader accepting that Annakin is gone, but Obiwan leaves knowing that it wasn’t his fault. I’m shocked Vader said it, but I’m glad. They can justify Vader saying it by Annakin/Vader’s defiant nature of not wanting anyone else to get credit/control over his actions. I don’t think Vader is trying to comfort Obiwan, but it does exactly that. I think it’s Vader’s rebellious way of saying “I’m not a bad student because you were a bad teacher, I’m an amazing sith because you can’t accept how cool the darkside is!”. Obiwan got his closure, which he needed. I just hope Ahsoka finally gets hers, cuz she didn’t get it in Rebels. That’s why I really hope we finally get to see Ahsoka and Luke’s first conversation one day. She can’t get closure otherwise unless they give her an emotional conversation with force ghost Annakin. Not sure which way I’d prefer to see it, but she needs to have her guilt over Annakin resolved.

This series overall was really fun. I saw everything I wanted, including an emotional climax with Kenobi and Vader, and Qui-Gon Small nitpick and question for you guys: Am I the only one that found a lot of the intercutting with flashbacks to be jarring? Not the Anakin and Obi-Wan training scene, that flowed perfectly with the story of episode 5. Just scenes like Obi under the rubble and Reva about to kill Luke. I feel like the flashbacks there kind of take away from the impact. It'd be like if George cut to a shot of sweet innocent Anakin when Obi-Wan was yelling "You were the chosen one!" lol The audience is like "yeah I remember!" Either way, great episode. Also the line "Then my friend is truly dead" is a cool callback to Luke saying "Then my father is truly dead"

We already know Reva didn’t create any problems with the knowledge of the children she had. Once she let go of her revenge, hate, she probably recognized them as padawan’s just like she was and wouldn’t want any harm to come to them. Reva guessed that Luke was Vader's son from context clues and wanted to kill Luke to hurt Vader. But she didn't know that Vader was unaware of Luke's existence. For all she knew Vader is hunting Obi-Wan so passionately because he hid his son away from him. Of course Reva can't go through with killing Luke like Vader killed her friends. I think it fits together perfectly and I don't have any issues with how they wrapped up that storyline.

I’m so gratified that the series stuck the landing! There were a few clunky moments, but overall, I LOVED it. It felt like there was an awesome 2 to 3 hour movie here, but it was padded out to turn it into a 6 hour series. The padding made it awkward & confusing at times, but the meaty parts outweighed those bits for me. I REALLY enjoyed the character development & exploration we got with Obi-Wan & Anakin/Vader. This is easily the deepest we’ve gone with these characters in live-action. Hell, I even enjoyed seeing the Lars and Organa families getting fleshed out as well. Reva is an interesting character. I feel like the writers fumbled a few times with her character arc, but I’m pleased to see her added to the Star Wars universe. 🙂 I will be following her career with much interest. 32:20 My take: Reva knows that the boy being cared for by Owen is Vader’s child. She assumes that Vader must already know about him as well, and she plans to kill his family to avenge the deaths of her fellow younglings. In the end, she chooses the better path.

I legit think this is the first reaction that I've seen anyone notice the ESB music in the Battle of Hoth and later on too. Thing is with the stormtroopers in ANH, they were, well, storming their home with flamethrowers. You can avoid a lightsaber, but not a flamethrower. I'm glad Obi-Wan left Vader alive again. They released a Marvel comic series of Obi wan that is set sometime after the events of the series and the episode 4. it's basically just Obi wan writing down his memoirs from his hut. Vader being stoned is how Fantastic Four's The Thing was created, LOL! I wonder if Reva will actually stay on Tatooine to look after Luke and Obi-Wan actually leaves to help join the fight against The Empire for a while OR it would be cool if Obi-Wan left with Reva to help complete her Jedi training. I love how they had Vader yells, "OBI-WAAAAAN!!" and Maul yells "KENOOOOOBIIIII!!" At this time, Han should be working for Jabba, right? I think a cool post-credit scene (if Star Wars did post-credit scenes, that is) would be showing Han Solo and Boba Fett in Jabba's palace on Tatooine. I wonder if the Jedi tombs in the Inquisitor Fortress will be a subplot continued in season 2 & Obi-Wan goes to investigate more. I did want to see the Grand Inquisitor have a big fight scene in the vain of Star Wars Rebels. Reva was obsessed with finding Kenobi, the same as Vader, but the Grand Inquisitor kept trying to stop her. So, what exactly was their plan on using Reva as far as this show alone is concerned?? Was the plan for the Grand Inquisitor to just pretend to not care about finding Kenobi?? Why didn't Vader just let The Grand Inquisitor take the Star Destroyer after the remaining rebels, especially if Vader was going to take his own ship after Kenobi?? The beginning of that song that played when Vader and Obi-Wan were about to fight sounded a little bit like Duel of Fates, but it would've been even cooler if they did play Duel of Fates. LOL, I had this image in my head of Vader having a closet-full of shiny new helmets.

His eyes changed and that’s why the Emperor persuaded Vader to let Obi go. He senses there is still good in Vader and it flickered for a moment when he Faced Obi. When he told him that he didn’t kill Anakin and then the Sith kicked back in and said “I did”. The Emperor called him off Yoda and Obi because he knew there was a chance they could reach that part in him that still hadn’t completely died. It’s facing Luke and the chance of the Emperor doing to him what he did to Anakin that pulls him back from across the line.

I love Vader saying "I am not your failure, Obi Wan". That was letting Obi Wan know he has nothing to apologize for. It was not his fault. Anakin bears all the blame for turning to the dark side. Reva is not going after Luke because she knows he is Vader's son. She doesn't know he is a Skywalker. The message she heard never said anything about Luke being Vader's son. She is angry at Obi Wan and is wanting to kill Luke to take away someone who is important to and loved by Obi Wan. Vader know what the Emperor means by "if your past can not be overcome...". He knew Sidious would replace him and that would mean Vader would be killed. The music from A New Hope had to wait until the series was closer in time to the events of A New Hope.

10:46 What's there to address? Leia's a princess, following decorum is the lady she grows up to be. Yes, she was rebellious, but she still carried herself like a person of authority. More importantly, there's a nine year gap between right now and ANH. If they haven't spoken to one another in that time, you speak to that person as though you were buddy buddy, that'd be a little weird, no? 21:00 I love how Obi-Wan's lightsaber has a dim blue hue on Darth Vader's helmet when Obi-Wan says Anakin. The hue slowly shifts to purple before becoming fully red, the final transformation from Anakin to Darth Vader. 22:56 Obi-Wan has two Sith that want revenge after him. He ended Darth Maul and he ended the Emperor's new apprentice on Mustafar. The Sith cannot help themselves, their attachment to power, life, pushes them towards taking revenge; hence, revenge of the Sith. They are all about that eye for an eye bit. The Jedi follow the will of the Force. If it's their time to go, it's time to go, be one with the Force. And that's what Yoda tried telling Anakin during one of the last times they spoke to one another, but Anakin was too attached to living and his family to hear the words of wisdom his master was speaking. The need to take revenge is what keeps those lost in the abyss of darkness clinging to life. That's how Maul survived his injuries, as well as Reva, Anakin, the Grand Inquisitor and Palpatine. Qui-Gon, being the devout Jedi did the Jedi thing. He accepted his fate and became one with the Force. 24:53 Mercy is the Jedi way. Reva showed Luke mercy just as Obi-Wan showed Anakin. She grew past her need for revenge and found her way back to the light side of the Force. She might know too much, but she's not Sith. She was a Jedi lost in the abyss, and she's found her way back. 25:07 they are free from their pasts. Both Reva and Obi-Wan were haunted by their pasts--both were in terrible spots at the start of the series. The weight that was on Obi-Wan's shoulders has been lifted. Reva's too, but she still needs time to heal. 25:40 Vader has issues with his past too--"let the past die!" You can't be who you're supposed to become if your past is still holding you down. The moment Anakin truly becomes Darth Vader, the Empire, the one we know it to be, is born, and I think that that's why this series held off on a lot of familiar tunes, saving them all for the finale, which sets up the OT where we would have heard them for the first time =D 26:02 I'm a little shocked that he sat down on his thrown while talking to the Emperor. I expected him to kneel. The Emperor interjecting at Darth Vader's lowest moment is likely why Darth Vader stops looking for Obi-Wan. Darth Vader just told the Emperor that he had probes searching all nearby systems, but the Emperor wasn't interested in that. The past is Darth Vader's undoing, as we in the OT, the Emperor would rather have Darth Vader leave it alone and be the man he became and stay under his control. This is probably due to legacy characters, but I enjoyed this series so much more than all the other Star Wars stories we've gotten. I hope the others can step up like this one did. Maybe having a single director for the entire series is the case. 32:44 Reva wanted revenge. Her beef is with Anakin. She assumes Luke is Anakin's son and she acted on that. She's made Obi-Wan too, but not like she is at Anakin. Obi-Wan didn't kill her family. Anakin did.

From this point forward Ben believes that the force knows what is best and fully trusts in it and thus he leaves Reva alive and free....It's like Gandalf said....."Only the wise can truly seal ends" Obi-wan feels that Luke and Leia are no longer in his hands. He understands that the force knows what is best and that he will be called to aid when needed.....This is why he doesn't want to train Luke. He knows that the time will come if the force deems it the path that must be taken. This exceptance of the force is why he is finally able to see Qui-gon and why his force abilities became quite a bit stronger than before. You see it in Maul's Fight after these events. He basically just kills Maul without effort.

You know I have to say personally it is a good thing that everyday people don't understand revenge and hate on the level that Lucas created with this tale of the Force and characters. It is a mixture of Greek and Japanese philosophies in storytelling. This is a tragedy that has redemptive tales in them. For me Vader/Skywalker never made a logical walk between the child in the desert to the Sith killer of children and friends. This show help me make that logical walk in character. I get his hate and rage and I also get Reva's. When you have bad things happen in life you have to have someone to blame and be the focus of your revenge. Its the growth to understand the fault is in us is the redemptive tale. Reva is Anakin on a different path. In the end good story telling to me.

Don't think we are ever shown for certain that Reva knows who Luke is. She certainly has no idea at all about Leia's relationship to Anakin. And surely Vader still having no idea in Episode IV that he has a son or daughter shows that Reva has kept quiet on whatever she does know for all those years, and therefore there is nothing to be concerned about.

The way I see it is now that Reva`s redeemed, no longer works for The Empire and realizes what she thought was hatred of Obi-Wan and The Jedi was really fear of Vader and the other Inquisitors and a sense she and her Youngling friends were abandoned by The Jedi,she has no reason to go after Luke,the Lars homestead or Leia anymore.

the point of reva being in this episode was to show the strength of a jedi , her being in this episode shows that a person who's a jedi no matter the pain they experience it still won't turn them to the darkside . it also showed how weak sellout-kin was compared to reva , sellout-kin turned to the darkside based on a dream whereas reva saw the other younglings get murdered by sellout-kin and she was almost killed by him 2x and it still didn't make her turn to the darkside and kill an innocent kid

Riva did not know Luke is Vaders child. It was Riva hating that Kenobi never saved the young-lings and she wanted revenge because Kenobi was protecting young child and threw her under the bus with with Vader confrontation.

the reason why Obi wan made that look is because he see what he's become. In the suit. Or armor whatever and he's in shock that he's alive. So. Ya

All the episodes of kenobi reflect the one through six episodes of Star Wars Episode 1 we meet a force sensitive kid Episode 2 futuristic blade runner type setting Episode 3 anakin /obi wan fight where a character is very badly burned Episode 4 daring rescue from from an imperial facility Episode 5 rebellion escapes by the skin of their teeth even from Vader Episode 6 a defeat of Vader from a Jedi with mercy who left the rebellion because evil doers were really just after him

Obi wan said he’s free now because he no longer has to concern himself over Anakin, as he sees him as gone forever. Reva is free because she can just go live a quiet life somewhere away from the empire and reconcile.

Whatever Reva knows, assumes, or suspects is inconsequential. I firmly believe we've already met Reva in the future. Shortly after that night, she wandered off into the dune sea and encountered and ultimately joined a new family...A Tusken tribe. Specifically, the tribe that Boba joins for a time. She's the female warrior in black that trained Boba. The one that drove the speeder like she had experience. I have convinced myself they are the same woman.

Reva doesn't know who these kids are. When she says she wants justice, it goes back to her asking where was Ben when Anakin was killing all the younglings. He had these two kids under his protection this whole time but wasn't there for her or the other younglings. She couldn't get her justice with Vader so she went to get it from Ben by going after Luke.

I think Reva's storyline would have been better received if the writers acknowledged right from the start that she was a youngling at the Jedi temple when Order 66 went down. Most fans guessed that part anyway. Then they could have used more flashbacks to set up her conflicted nature. They could have leaned into suggesting she had a grudge against Obi-Wan for not rescuing her and the other younglings and kept her true resentment against Anakin/Vader till the episode 5 reveal. I wasn't too upset that there wasn't more Hayden Christensen but there were missed opportunities for flashbacks during the Mapuzo encounter (perhaps a few alternate angle shots from their Mustafar fight in Revenge of the Sith that weren't used in the theatrical release) or their respective Flash-Bacta scenes (credit to Smols daughter!) - maybe a couple of scenes of pre-darkside Anakin and Obi-Wan just talking.

Reva knows who Vader is and she knows they are his kids. She figured out the reason Obi is protecting the kids, because they are Vader’s and if they don’t keep him from him, they will be raised by Vader. She knows the force is strong in Vader, it will be even stronger in his kids, she had to kill them, not only for revenge but because they could be even worse than Vader

Besides the ups and very downs of the show, the ending was really good, especially the fight between Obi Wan and Vader, very emotional and enhanced the characters, the only thing that I think they failed is that once Reeva let go of her hate she should have died, since that was the only thing keeping her alive from that serious stab wound, making her drain from the dark side and this negative emotion to keep her going, if that happened would have made the fact that at one point she had the knowledge of Luke not that much of a problem. Apart from that, I think the ending with "Mythos" Obi Wan and Qui Gon is what we wall wanted, so the show definitely deserve at least a second season (with Jon and Dave) fully focused on his time with Qui Gon, nothing extra-Tatootoine (apart from Vader). Nice reaction as always!
