with the matte painting, are these 2D assets or 3D

Hi, the methodology is different depending on shots. For the planet shot, it's based on a CG planet with DMP projection on top of it. For other environment shots, it's pure DMP, 2.5D projection set up on top of the plate. For the long flying over shot it’s pure 3D for asset and DMP paint over projections. Thanks for watching!
