So, 2+ years later and here I am commenting on this amazing video. Terry, my friend, you've done it again. First with the Mythos Boba Fett figure and now this. I just pulled the trigger on this guy and it was all thanks to you. You have away of bringing out the beauty in figures. This was a figure I was certain I didn't want or need in my collection. I mean we all know Hot Toys will be making a figure to the Obi Wan tv show. But after watching this video I felt I needed this iteration of the character. Such amazing work. Thanks Terry!

I was 12 when New Hope came out, so you might understand my heart is with Alec Guinness’ Obi Wan. But I have to say I’m really liking the portrait on this figure!

Never got the Mythos statue of Kenobi, because of the cost. So I made my own 12 inch version....when it was 90 percent done they announced this figure. If only they could have done it 6 months earlier....oh well.

I found it took about 1 and a half hours to put this figure together and get it setup with my shaking hands. I likely cut a bit of time by using the strap adjustments on the backpack. It indeed is a fact that the figures clothing and small details to the items attached that sets the mood on this figure. It really is a selling point with all the attention to detail. Some of the backpack items are a bit fragile, but nothing that warrents a extreme amount of caution, but it is something to be aware of. The neck gap is the worst issue I found as a whole, but really, as mentioned in the video, can be disguised with the hood, or placement of the hood, as well as angle of the pose to hide it. Head tilted downward and turned slightly to the side helps. With this figure, less seems to be more in poseability as the details alone tells a story of its own with minimum effort to the pose factor, though there is plenty of articulation and options to how you can display Obi-Wan. The things I did different from this video with the setuo was with the Bantha sticks, I sat those perpendicular as the box shot and setup photos shows on the sideshow website. The saber harness on the back that holds the 2 hilts, I put those hanging just under the backpack as this also was like this in the sideshow setup photos. The most problematic thing was to find a place for the binoculars, which I ended up puting over the left shoulder and hanging to the side, everywhere else was just in the way and wound up hiding or obscuring details that would be staple to this figures appeal. I do like the remedy shown in this video as well for placement. I really wish they would have made the sword blade light up. The droid caller is small and easy to lose, and there is a hook on the back of the belt. Kinda fruitless unless displaying the figure without the cape, but its still a worthwhile addition. As a whole, this figure oozes character, and the likeness is spot on to Alec when he was in his late 30's to early 40's, though I see the hint of Ewin in there for good measure. The figure is of exceptional build quality as well as the paint application. Proud to have it be the first of my collection. A solid 9 out of 10.
