I used to be a professional dj in Europe for like 30 years....I'd never heard of a certain Obie trice..untill one day when I bought Eminem's "Without me" I listened to the intro that launches a name "OBIE TRICE...blah blah the lyrics"..so i felt curous and went to discover whom the obie dude was....And I ended up being one of the first djs in Italy to play "The SET UP" in clubs...A song that caused ears to prick and heads to nod to the song!! thumbs up Obie!!

Glad to see other people consider "Cheers" as a classic. I'm always hesitant to use that word regarding an album but I feel the same way. The production is top notch on every song and Obie has memorable hooks and brought a lot of character to his rhymes. Truly an underrated rapper and a totally slept on album. Obie is right about Interscope taking too long for his sophomore album. I loved Cheers but by the time "Second Rounds On Me" came, I had lost interest in him as an artist because it felt like he had disappeared.

Obie Trice has some of the most powerful, yet heart felt lyrics of any artist. His approach is to make you feel his words down to your bones. The song that comes to mind when I think about his music is the one with Eminem. Listen to Eminem - Go to Sleep feat Dmx and Obie Trice. As a consumer of music, make sure you go back in time and enjoy the classics. You will see the influence of the styles today and the beauty of the lyricism that propagated those styles.

This man is one of the most underrated in the rap industry, Iove him sooo much I named my Rottweiler after him and when people used to say Ohh after Obi-Wan Kanobi, I used to get offended because they didn't know and I'm like how can you not know. I swear if I had another baby, I would have named him Obie but I had five already by the time I had first had the chance to witness this man perform live and boy that was fire. We need to support this guy because he is one of the best.

Mad love to the homie Trice. I grew up listening to Em' and 'em (NO pun intended) and those my dudes man, got me through a lot of shit in my youth. I will say though, many people would have sold their soul to get to where Obie got to. it's a matter of not having the right people on your side. Same thing happened to me when i was young. I had a lot of good things come my way, and I speak from a financial perspective. My mom almost died in an accident, my brother died (may God rest his soul) and we came up on some good bread since my mom sued the state and won. We didn't have anyone to guide us, we were poor and did not know how to invest or otherwise manage our money. Mom went broke after like 3 years of living in luxury throwing parties ever other weekend and blowing money like crazy. Mofokas would line my living room couch trying to see who could get some bread off mom dukes. It's too bad man, sometimes people don't know how to take advantage of a great thing, that could possibly only come once in a lifetime and (sometimes) at the cost of others. Peace y'all.
