Extremely comprehensive video! Love Jazzy’s interview. I especially appreciated the point about even characters who don’t get along with Paintbrush still respecting who they are. As Jazzy said, that kind of thing should not be conditional. It would not have been “uwu kewl character development” to see a character learn basic decency and stop purposefully misgendering another character. That would be toxic and set a bad precedent! BONUS: In an object show called KFTTE (Keep Fighting Till The End), the main host Volcano Book is MTF transgender. In the first episode, she was male with he/him pronouns and animated without lashes and a masculine voice. At the beginning of episode 2a, Paper Shredder is putting eyeliner on Volcano Book. Around halfway through the episode, Paper Shredder announced to the contestants that Volcano Book is now a girl and would like to be addressed as one, including she/her pronouns and that she’s still adjusting to her feminine voice. The contestants were all supportive about this and that makes me happy :) I love LGBTQ+ representation in the OSC

This video definitely shines a bright light on the LGBT representation in object shows and are a brilliant example of LGBT rep in media as a whole and I feel those who are ACTUALLY apart of the community should be accepted for who they are as being LGBT is completely okay and at the end of the day, whether we identify as male, female or anywhere else outside the gender binary and regardless of what our orientations are romantically, we are all human and we shouldn't treat them any differently we'd treat anyone else simply because of their identity! Homophobia, Transphobia, you name it, it can harshly effect people and I think you should take time to put yourself in their shoes to take a moment and understand what their going through with their struggles with coming out whilst dealing with harsh treatment they receive just for who they are, so take this month to give the LGBT community the respect and support they deserve! Happy Pride Month! I'm personally proud to be an Aroace Demiboy!

I mean personally I think that if it’s not fantasy (which in this case it is so it’s fine) it should reflect real statistics. Queer people are still a minority, so to have the whole cast being queer is unrealistic and a bit uncomfortable. The exact same thing can be said about straight people, no cast of more than 7 people should have all cis straight people and that would be unrealistic and uncomfortable. I specified at the beginning that this creator is fine because it’s fantasy, but I still felt the need to specify that having an all queer cast could take someone out of the story. I wanted to add a pretty new object how, called Planet Hoppers! Even tho only the first part of the first episode was released, almost all, if not all characters are lgbt. Artificial Deluxe (They/them , creator of the show) confirmed the characters sexualities while the first episode was in production. The show has: 3 bisexuals: - Sparks (female) - Jotty (female) - Crispin (male) 2 non binaries - 8 Bit (they/them) - E.A.R.L (they(them) 1 asexual - Shuri (he/him) 2 pansexuals - Flames (he/him) - Slice (he/him) (even tho this PROBABLY will change in the future, as the crew now kinda leans on Slice being gay) and 3 lesbians - CraX (she/her) - Captain (she/her) - Envy (she/her - a canon transgender woman) And, in a post made by AD posted on March 31st 2024 its confirmed that Evergreen (a background character , he/they) is canonically a trans man! And, in the background of Envy's room you can see the has a trans flag on her wall! (Also, as a lil thing I want to add, it is KIND OF implied that Envy and CraX have smth going on :3)

Id also like to mention ION, a russian episode which features the main character, Cracklin, being canonically gay AND autistic onscreen. It reminds me of how queerness and neurodivergency go hand in hand, and how as a queer autistic person I see myself in him. On top of that, the character Chief is bicurious, Sylvia is biromantic and asexual (if i remember correctly), and Orange Herald is agender and uses any pronouns. Cracklin obviously has a crush on Chief and Sylvia flirts with Orange Herald in ION 3 (it's likely just to tease her, but we love toxic yuri in this house). What makes this even more astounding is the fact that the creator lives in Russia and advocates for LGBTQ rights in their country. The fact that they potentially put their life in danger to tell a queer narrative mostly by themself is really admirable, and I was actually surprised it wasn't on this list!

BONUS: OSO (open source objects) has a character named Tart that falls on the non binary spectrum as fey use Fey/Fem pronouns. Tart came out in episode six when fey told Crayon Box, the host, that fey wanted to go by Fey/Fem pronouns which she was supportive of and had feir pronouns updated to accommodate the request. It’s one of the only instances where I’ve seen an object show character use neopronouns and it’s honestly really nice that even those are being taken into consideration and use.

16:07 Oh if only, IF ONLY! Object shows are always so so shy (or dare I say cowards) to implement canon relationships like that, that's why I love so much when I find shows that do. For example Battle for Pongone, Nice Show For Weenies, , Clash 2 Be Champion or Paper Puppets to say a few (last two though yet to be confirmed they are being heavily implied), which btw are all queer pairs.

In a show called "Battle For (More) Nothing" made by SpikeAnimations, there is a canonical lesbian couple (Glassy and Coffee). Coffee's parents disowned(??) her after she came out to them (though, this comes before the show happened, so we didn't get to see it happen). Also, a character called Unity was originally meant to be trans, but Spike decided not to go this route because it wasn't important to her character and Spike doesn't talk to the person who suggested this idea anymore (I think? I don't entirely remember).

BFTDAAPST:Canny is Polysexual and will be in a relationship with Uno card who is a MTF transgender bisexual, Stick is a Pan Tomboy and will be in a relationship with Alarm who is a Lesbian, (I can’t say anything else about the other characters because ether My friends who works on the show owns the character(s) or I didn’t come up with one for the rest of the characters I made) TSOSIE:Quarter an dynamite will be a gay couple, Grass block is FTM transgender, Cotton candy is AroAce, Pumpkin and Floppy will a lesbian couple in the future, iPad and Image generator are nonbinary, Tetris block is pan and will be a relationship with Jack in the box who is nonbinary and Demisexual, (I haven’t made head cannons for the rest)

i think its quite interesting that object shows in particular are so intwined with the lgbtq community. i've kinda said this to ppl a couple times, but i have a theory that them being objects is really the origin of the reason for this. subconsciously, people just tend to make non-human characters more queer and more gender diverse (i think youre well aware of many other examples), since its easier to imagine them as fitting outside the norm. while you could probably call that into question, i honestly dont think its a bad thing really. its kind of just how the human brain works, and im okay with that as a queer person myself if it gives us great things like this
