We suggest to try a full BPMN compliant BPM Suite: Flokzu ( www.flokzu.com/EN?KZbin ), a cloud workflow tool that implements the 4 basic stages of BPM: Modeling in BPMN, Deploy and Automation (with 1 click, no coding), Measuring (using KPI's) and Improving your process. It also provides a free ready-to-use process library ( www.flokzu.com/blog/en/category/process-templates?KZbin ), that lets you take a workflow model that has been useful to other companies, adapt it to your needs and start using it within minutes.

Can these models be used to cross-check each other? If not, how would one do so?

I know I'm a bit late but oh well... Yes, but it somewhat depends on the environment. Also what your definition of "cross checking" is. I think the slide on 13:50 highlights this best. Although BPMN and CMMN are different standards they can somewhat relate through the means of DMN. However, I also think that the way in which this is done depends on your setup. For example, the modeling software which I'm using (fully compliant with the OMG standards) supports both BPMN and CMMN diagrams and those are normally not directly related. However, by adding business rules (basically separate and individual diagram models) and then outlining those in a separate Grid diagram you'd also create some kind of overlay connection between those diagrams. A process which - to my knowledge - is fully compliant with the set out standards. As such I believe that the answer to your question is yes. The 'how' part, for me at least, heavily depends on the software being used.

@@ShelLuser I'm wondering about the slide on 35:00. How do you "chop off" a portion of BPMN and re-define it in other type of diagram and semantically link them together.

@@ShelLuser I guess the summary slide on 37:09 said it all. At the time of this talk the language allowing BPMN to "call out" to other diagrams has not been well defined.
