My mate got smoked by something huge in the same spot. We thought he was snagged at first... probs foul hooked a big ray. I've caught rainbow gurnard, silver trevally and flatties there also. Jewfish are in there but mostly taken with with livebait at the bridge or all the way up the lake end.

I fish here out of a kayak regularly, it’s one of my favourite jewie spots, it could have been a Ray or a jewie, I’ve caught a few rays here but not many, I’ve caught more mulloway out of here then rays, there are holes in spots that hide some huge jewies, you need to sound up to find the holes!

Have been to that place multiple times. That always happened to me. Most of the time when I managed to pull it out, it would be just stacks of sea and river weeds floating fast in the water current. But yours could be different. Keep posting the videos. Love your work mate !

Sorry about losing the big one. Hope you get your revenge soon. One tip when getting smoked don't put your hand on the reel just tighten up your drag and try to turn his head don't put upward try to pull to the side. What in mean is turn your rod on a angle so the fish is more likely to turn its head.

Drag was locked haha little Sienna's only have 3kg of drag. It was either a bit of thumb or be spooled. Good tips about the turning the head ;) cheers.

It is a good tip about turning them sideways, I do this with carp, the fat things will sit sideways for 10 minutes but eventually it will swim towards you. I am tipping it would be a stingray, I have caught Banjo on soft plastics but never a stingray but stingrays can go nuts like that.

Cease letting them "bum around looking for crabs" and give them your time - your educational time. Jesus, I had a rod in my hand at 6 years of age - and caught them.
